Burrow’s season averages are gonna be skewed by his calf injury early in the season

Burrow was dealing with a bit of pressure last night, more so than Allen.

They weren’t running the ball well.

Chase had a bad game

Yet he destroyed that defense

Josh Allen makes dumb decisions and throws the ball way too hard when he doesn’t need to. Missed 3 throws because of it.

Has no touch on the ball. Just rocket

Did a good job on two drives last night. Got some yards when they were down two scores — nice work

Allen is an analytics QB. If you watched the game last night no person would say Allen outperformed Burrow
That's one game and I rank Burrow the best in the game followed by Allen then Mahomes. Tua is way down the list.

1. Burrow
2. Allen
3. Mahomes

then big gap.

Those 3 can carry teams. Tua can't. Tua needs to be surrounded with talent. I'll admit he is accurate.

Can Allen carry a team? Maybe to a wild card

always seems like excuses for him

Allen carried Buffalo his whole career. Allen was Cam Newton wild his first couple of years. Now he's one of the most accurate in the league.

He's gotten better at learning to check down to the RB and look for TEs instead of hacking it up to Diggs and Davis all the time

But he still is a little too stubborn in how he runs and will make dead-scratching throws (that throw last night perfect example, got away with a couple more too)

He also worked a lot on his foot work and mechanics to get rid of the accuracy problem.

PFF uses turnover worthy plays so there's no getting away with bad passes that should have been picked.

That metric is subjective to some level though

It’s guys watching the game and making that call , grading it on 0-1 scale

True and I don't totally agree with all they say. But Allen still leads in QBR. We can ignore some but not all things that rank QBs.

Again, not a perfect stat. It way overvalues running; Allen SHOULD rank ahead of a guy like Burrow in that

Example from a week in 2021:

Zach Wilson 14/22 101 yards, 1 TD/0 INT; 4 rush, 91 yards, 1 TD
Joe Burrow 37/46 525 yards, 4 TD/0 INT

Zach Wilson 92.4 QBR
Joe Burrow 89.3 QBR

Analytics only go so far. This is why you have to watch the games. No one could watch that game last night and be like, "Yeah, Allen is better than Burrow."

It wasn't even close

Tyreek Hill has played for 3 QBs that had the highest QB rating in that year. Tua, Mahomes, Alex Smith.

Yes, having Hill makes you a better QB

But Hill has had his ups and downs. He's not the best receiver in the league

Put Allen on SF now that’s fully loaded even Dallas and you made your team better
Allen wouldn't fit well on a Shanahan offense.

Allen isn't great if he is on a leash and can't run. And he makes too many mistakes

Shanahan wouldn't let him do that

Hill's by far the best receiver in the league. Not just his own production but he forces double teams and safeties over the top allowing others to get open.

Every coach in the league would take Allen over Tua.
