Like was mentioned earlier in this thread, make sure to get a good matrimonial attorney. Alot of attorneys are desperate and are taking on matrimonial work without much experience and the results are disastrous for some.

What you end up settling on in the divorce can effect you for a long time, both financially and emotionally.
Good luck

Would pay to hear her side of this.
Reading your posts over the years, you can be a total prick yourself.

If you do tell us stories about her, it will show what a roach you truly are.
Becarefull what you write,it might come back and stab you in the back.

Wow, way to be a complete and utter douchebag. What the hell is your problem? You want to say that *he* was a total prick? Look in the mirror. Right now.

SS - I'm sorry to hear that your marriage essentially ended 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I don't have any good advice, having never been married myself and having experienced that bond. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know and I'll do my best.

Read through the local paper today and around 70% of the women that had baby had a different last name than the fathers. It's a sad state of affairs in America when this starts happening.

I can't believe some of the advice & suggestions given to him in this thread.

If you are in love with someone and they are part of your daily/nightly life & routine, it's not that easy to just have a drink, make a toast to her leaving, playing the field with other women, and living it up...

It is for me, I learned a long time ago to keep my heart cold, but that comes from my earlier days dealing with shady people, I trust no one. Only people who get love is family fuck everybody else.

Tough thread..condolences to anyone having a difficult time with their marriage..I hope somehow things workout for the best..

In the meantime, I recommend doing what I did, marry a girl who can't speak English, virtually impossible to argue when you can't do it in your native tongue..

Take my wife -- Please. The late Henny Youngman...

first divorce, i fell out of love. told my wife she can have everything, house, bank accounts, everything....not enough-she put me in jail 3 times, once for 3 months. second divprce in costa rica, gave my wife and HER 4 kids home, education, cars, everything, she got an order of domestic violence against me, and i was removed from the house .i bought, for 6 months. she eventually cancelled the order as it was bullshit, but too late.
what to do? once divorce is in the air, it's a fucking war. get the best lawyer possible and you make the first filing.
very important you act first. and, the old adage is true---time heals. cry, be angry, do whatever you need to do. just do not
let her take control and make the first legal moves.

we have decided to try to split amicably so far, but she is now on vacation and in a fantasy world. Im thinking of filing while she is gone.

so far my wife and i have agreed to end things amicably without lawyers, in the meantime she has gone on vacation.

Damn SS sorry to hear but not surprised i.e some of the conversations we had in past.

Hope all works out for you and I know you were thinking of relocating and best part no kids involved.

Personally I have been home alone as family is in Ca. and I am climbing the walls.

If this were permanent would be tough.

I feel for all you guys .........and gals.

Have you ever noticed how, when something super shitty happens, that a year or two down the road you are able to see what a good thing that shitty event turned out to be? Even shitty events take us down new roads we would otherwise have not travelled, and then voila! Something new and even better happens. It's hard to see this now, but keep faith that one day you will.

I would like to think that I know SportSavant well enough to call him a friend. He and I have been on this board for over 7 years and for the life of me I don't know what you can be referring to since he has never given me that idea.

Sorry, but I can't say the same for you.

Paying alimony? I'd take my chances and pay someone to make her "be gone"

Moved to Rubber Room from Offshore Forum as the thread has become a minor food fight along with the airing of to much private business.

qualtunleap, kid44,

GREENHEAD has always had a hard on for me for some reason, some reason I talk openly or are a bit aggresive i guess that is why he doesnt like me, ive never quite understood it myself.

For him, its his problem, with his cross to bear because carrying around that much hate with you must be a heavy burden.
