You may be ok. What type of modem/router will you be using?

FTR, it's a Motorola surfboard that Northland installed. I assume it's a modem/router combo. I pay for 24MB and whenever I speedtest it, I get right around that so I assume it's not a problem.

Would this work with a Pioneer Kuro 500M monitor?

surfboard modem is a very good modem/router. I can tell you I have 5 customers on the 25MB plan and they haven't complained except when kids are on the wifi at same time. It will buffer when it happens for a few seconds. One customer has Savage in Living room Ethernet and Beast box in bedroom wifi. His Beast box was only getting 16MB and buffered. He bumped his service to the 60MB plan and it fixed his buffering issues on Beast box. I try telling customers the box is only as good as your internet. As far as getting two ISP... I wouldn't do it and AT&T sucks with contract and they make you use their modem as a gateway.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by gateway? I thought the ATT uverse would be connected to the phone port in the wall, meanwhile the cable internet would remain in the cable port resulting in no conflict between the two. Am I incorrect?

I've read complaints about ATT in general, but around here the people I know who have it seem to be pretty pleased with it. I suppose it can vary by area.

What you said about no problems "except when using wifi at the same time". That's my problem, I have to have both at the same time. If I go the Savage route, I don't see any way around getting two ISP's. It's definitely not something I want to do.

Here's the deal with AT&T... they are DSL and Fiber internet company. Fiber is not out yet in most places but have heard great things about it. The DSL (phone line) with AT&T you have to use their modem( gateway) and can't use your own modem. Their modem/router combo is not great for wifi if you want to stream. I don't know what devices you want to hook up for wifi but if you want to run a gaming console or stream on computer, you will most likely have to upgrade to a better router and bridge it with their modem/router. It's very easy to do. I see what you are saying about needing two ISP providers but keep in mind AT&T makes you sign a contract and you are stuck with it.

The fiber is great. That's what I have. If it's available, get it.

If not, stay away from AT&T DSL at all costs. They will promise you one speed and deliver you another. And their equipment sucks ass. The modem/router combo with DSL drops out frequently.

Hey Harry how long have you had the fiber? Are you using their modem/router combo with it? Need more info about Fiber so I can recommend it if they offer it for customers.

I have an AVR with HDMI passthrough (4k capable). My savage is plugged directly into the AVR, and the AVR outputs to the TV.

Works great for everything, including 4k streams.

FYI

I got it installed maybe 2 weeks ago. Everything was great until one day my DL speed dropped from 700 to 20 on the wifi (~100 wired).

Got a tech out there that day though and he replaced the modem and it's been good ever since, but keeping a close eye on it.

Yes, they gave me a modem/router combo. My first one looked just like the old DSL one I used to have; the replacement they gave me is a newer version. Essentially it's the same hardware, with fiber running into the house.

As far as recommending it for others, the Savage box is 100% fine on the wifi or hard wired. If your other devices don't pick up the 5ghz band, you won't realize the full speed on them. Most newer devices do though.

The 1000mbps they promise is more like 700 wired, 300 wifi. In my experience. But that's plenty for my needs right now.
