I don't see any problems. The only problem that could arise is how much the box is on and if you have a data limit. If you are streaming in U4k it takes up GB's. I am in the D area with comcast and the limit is 1024GB per month. After that you are charged extra. Other then that nada!

How much 4k do you stream though? Most typical live tv, sports, etc are in 1080. Unless you are a total movie junkie this shouldn't be an issue I wouldn't think.

Savage (Automatic update with DDR4 more premium add ons. Do not need VPN when using certain add ons) vs Beast (Manual update with DDR3. May need a VPN to watch sports)

For me I don't think I would burn 1024 per month. It's something I thought I would throw out there in case if your were switching your DTV over to the internet even if it is only one. People should check their internet plan. With DTV no limits. Know you have to consider your tv eating up GB. Here is a typical breakdown,

  • Standard Definition Streaming (SD) – Will consume 1GB of data per hour of Netflix content streaming.
  • High Definition Streaming (HD) – Will consume 3GB of data per hour of Netflix content streaming.
  • Ultra High Definition Streaming (UHD/ 4K) – Will consume a whopping 7GB of data per hour of Netflix content streaming such as House of Cards.

I really wanted to buy a Savage, but based on the info here, my internet speed isn't enough. I only get about 24mb and have no better options at my current residence. I'm so disappointed.

24 can run it but can't have anything else running at the same time and connect Ethernet. You do get 30 day money back if you go thru me. Up to you if you want to try it out.

The 24MB from wifi or Ethernet? And what ISP provider?

My ISP provider is Northland Cable. The 24MB is what I pay for and I get about that with both WIFI and Ethernet. I'm seriously considering getting ATT uverse 25MB (best I can get) in addition to my cable. If I do that, I'd connect the Savage to the cable via ethernet. I'd then disable wifi from every other device and use the ATT for those, so the Savage would get all 24MB from the cable. It would be kind of a pain in the ass to have two ISP's, but it would still be a lot cheaper than what I pay now.

Thoughts?

Is this your ISP provider?

You may be ok. What type of modem/router will you be using?
