It was cowardly and was accomplished with lies and deception and it will do irreparable harm to America and Americans.
It was cowardly because Obama and the political elites of both parties who want amnesty for illegal aliens knew they couldn’t get the legislation passed. Obama didn’t even try it when the Democrats controlled both Houses in Congress because poll after poll shows
super majorities of Americans don’t want amnesty, they want enforcement.
This amounts to legislating from the Executive Branch, but that doesn’t matter to His Majesty Obama. It doesn’t seem to matter to members of congress, either. Since we have heard no complaints from the body that actually is, you know, authorized by the Constitution with passing laws.
***************************UPDATE*******************************
We have finally heard a few responses from Republicans other than Arizona Governor Jan Brewer who referred to the action as “…executive fiat.”
Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul said the plan circumvents Congress.
In a news release, Reps. Peter King (R-N.Y.), chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, and Candice Miller (R-Mich.), chairwoman of the Homeland Security subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security, said:
“This new non-enforcement policy announced by the Obama Administration Thursday is
a blatant attempt to grant amnesty to potentially millions of illegal aliens in this country.”
In his own release, Rep. Jeff Flake (R–Ariz.) said the move was “inconsistent with the administration’s rhetoric that additional resources to combat illegal immigration are not needed.” Flake, who has supported more-lenient immigration reform in the past, now argues that current conditions on the Mexican border necessitate stronger immigration enforcement.
*******************************************************************
This Executive Action is a violation of Obama’s oath of office to, “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
It is a betrayal of America on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and all the other end-users of illegal aliens in our country.
This amnesty doesn’t preserve citizenship. It doesn’t protect American citizens and American workers and it doesn’t defend us from what is essentially an invasion from Mexico.
And you can say sayonara to Secure Communities, to the delight of the open borders anarchists. If you are an illegal alien and the feds get a print hit because you have been caught crossing into the country illegally at some point in the past, don’t worry. Unless you have been convicted of a crime you’re not going to get a second look from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And even if you have been convicted, there is no guarantee you will be deported even then.
This whole sellout of citizenship and sovereignty is being conducted with what the White House calls; “common sense guidelines.”
Hogwash.
These amnesty guidelines are the
Prosecutorial Discretion memo issued by ICE Director John Morton on June 17th of this year.
Read the Morton Memo.
Page four has 19 bullet points that spells out specifically who should be exempt from federal law enforcement.
Everybody, every type of illegal alien can be exempted. And just in case the list left someone out there is the phrase, “This list is not exhaustive and no one factor is determinative.”
But what the list really is, is a message to federal law enforcement personnel from one end of the food chain to the other;
Enforcement is out, illegal aliens are in.
Basically every illegal alien in the country can, and will, be given a pass.
This is amnesty by bureaucratic edict.
News reports also indicate that the Obama Administration will be dropping active deportation cases against over 300,000 illegal aliens. And, they will all be getting work permits, if they don’t have them already. 10% unemployment in the country and 300,000 were just added to labor market. And, of course, if they don’t find jobs expect them to start sucking up taxpayer benefits like welfare and food stamps and healthcare.
And the 600,000+ illegal alien absconders, who have already been ordered deported but failed to leave? No mention of them, but I am sure they won’t be removed,
ever.
And as if this mockery of citizenship and sovereignty and insult to law abiding citizens and legal immigrants isn’t enough, here is one more thing:
The USA has just sent a big, and I mean BIG green light to 7 billion people on this planet that all they have to do is get here. If you can get here, you can stay here.
Expect, in very short order, a surge on the border.
Border Patrol officers recall that after the 1986 IRCA Amnesty was announced there was a stampede on the border. And since we’ve already been told by former and current Border Patrol officers that they have been instructed to not stop groups coming illegally into our country, it is going to be a tidal wave of people from all over the planet.
Flash mobs? You ain't seen nuthin', yet.
We’re already on track to add 200 million people to the USA in the next 38 years. With this announcement, our population will break the half billion mark well before that.
So, fasten your seat belt. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
