The suggestion there are "no laws" outside of Chicago is laughable and preposterous.

I'm waiting for the day the govt put the military in an american city like Chicago to stop the violence.......its obviously out of control & I know the govt is itching to find out how well the military dissolves the situation.

We will see military involvement in american cities in the future, question is when it will happen?

We would probably see the same type of results that we'll see in Iraq and Afghanistan. The military will temporarily clean up the streets. But after they leave, it will be back to business as usual. This is a sociological and cultural problem. And I don't really have any answers how they can change the situation beyond stiffer laws that gets the most dangerous criminals off the streets. But we've already gone through that stiffer penalties argument in other threads...

Almost 25% of the guns used in crimes in Chicago came from one gun shop in Riverdale, Illinois..

Yes because once again Chicago could ban guns entirely. But see in the us we are allowed to travel around and bring firearms from other places. So you're argument about Chicago is over

Chicago does have many more gun restrictions/laws than most states in the country. The problem is there is no longer any room at the Cook County Jail or their state prisons. So they do not prosecute many of these UUW offenders (1st time aggravated) the way they should or would in other states. Then they go right back out on the street and commit another crime. That's why they fondly refer to Cook County as Crook County.
