I was probably out of line, and I apologize. The tone of your posts really rubbed me the wrong way, though, and it felt like you were throwing it in everybody's face that we could all easily be stiffed. I think I'm getting an ulcer.

I know that one of their Merchants is a legal OTB/Phone Bet type of operation in the United States...for horse-racing. last week the site said they were appealing to Neteller for an exemption....probably not appealing any more, but if they do get back up and running with Neteller then THAT's the ticket right there. Deposit and have them cut a check.

Yeah--at the very least it might be a good business move for them: a bunch of gamblers with money they can't send anywhere else...of course that's assuming that *they* can get paid by Neteller either....

In any case, at this point Neteller's supposedly numerous non-gambling merchant base consists of an online video game payment processor, random Ebay sellers, and a gambling site that might get an asterisk. The disinguity of their claims of a big "non gambling" merchant base sure doesn't do much to validate anything else they're saying...

Dont forget about the Royal bank of Scotland, as well as Barclays also. Both those outfits have huge interest in the US as well, but are getting a free pass due to investor concerns.

They do have some non gambling merchants... I've seen them from time to time and thought - hey that's neat, they take neteller.

Most of them also do business on ebay - watch shops, small jewelry stores, etc..

I would guess well over 98% of neteller's transfers were gambling.

I wonder how many of these actually had Neteller merchant accounts as opposed to just accepting peer to peer transactions...

And speaking of Neteller on Ebay, here's a guy taking a proactive approach to getting his money out of 'em:

He's got a "buy-it-now" price of $1175 for his Neteller balance...he's dreaming if he thinks he's getting that

da1prohet that clown from 2+2 is gonna get his eBay account shutdown for that. I gave him a best offer though of $0.02. He should take it and be happy.

Shareholders are immune from liability, is the whole point of corporate structure.

Lefebvre and Lawrence indictments have nothing to do with their ownership stakes in NETELLER but with their former positions with the company and the fact the founded it.

Funny...I was wondering what the "best offer" was. Right after I posted it I was thinking that Ebay would probably take a dim view of this based on PayPal's experience with gambling transfers...

Is Neteller still processing Non-USA withdrawal requests in any sort of timely manner? If so, what method?

Neteller WILL screw ALL US clients..........I had 8500 their and made a 1k WD 3 str8 days and now the balance of 5500 is trapped there. IMO no one will ever get a dime from Neteller again and most likely they WILL be handing over any and all documents regarding transactions by all US accounts to the "Gambling Police".......What a joke the US Govt is in regards to this law.....spend your time , money and efforts in busting the hard drug cealers, pedofiles, thieves, killers...........But you see those dudes fight back with GUNS......whereas bettors & bookmakers don't shoot back. I would not be surprised to see some Fed dude or some other authority knock on the doors of US players trying to charge you with "money laundering"......this WILL get worse before getting better

That $1000 daily transfer limit to the Gold Card sure phucked a lot of people. Right after people transferred from pinny to Neteller, the EFT's and cheques were halted. Now this. This debacle is more "enronlike" daily. It looks like they were operating on a float.

I suspect Neteller's costs were exhorbitant and this mini-run on the bank, via the Gold Card has, left them with no other alternative but to go bankrupt. I wouldn't leave any type of currency in Neteller at this point. They are obviously facing dire circumstances.

Depends on you define "stiff". The delay excuses are piling up and the withdrawal options are being taken away, one at a time. You have to realize the banking industry is a small group. No legitimate processor is going to go near Neteller right now.

The real problem I have with Neteller is that a week or two ago they advised people to order a Gold Card. Now that those people should be receiving the cards, that withdrawal option has been taken away.

New comment on the Neteller site:

NETELLER is currently unable to transact with USD bank accounts, regardless of the location of the member.
"Unable" is an interesting word to use.

If this is true, it would pretty much put the dagger in the heart. However, I was just able to transfer a little money over to a buddy's account...
Did the CS rep tell you when the transfers would no longer be allowed?

That was the last "window of hope" for USA players. I think the finalities are inevitable now.

I urge you to remove your preferred currency at once, if you are able, this could have disastrous repercussions.
