I really will be going to either Canada or Australia. Neteller has been very very good to me.

I'm not going to cut my income by 75-80% to stay here.

Since I'm not taking any bets, I am more than welcome to travel in and out of the US.

Sean

Sean...if you don't get out of the states soon, we're going to start thinking you're all talk.

They had it way before anyone else did.

I hope Neteller's checks will be good, because I have a few of them coming today from the Pinny closure.

To all those of you moving money to "The books". I think you are just kidding yourselves.
All you have done is move the money from Smith,Seymour etc @ Neteller to Oly,WSEX etc @Neteller.
The money is still in the same place and subject to the same risks.

The books do not have your money, it is still with Neteller.

I have complete faith in the intentions of Olympic WSEX etc to pay. I am not sure how effective those intentions would be if a good chunk of their money was in a frozen Neteller account.

Huh? You lost me on that one. If the money is with WSEX it is with WSEX, not Neteller. WSEX may itself have some money in Neteller (that I am sure they would not eventually lose, but regardless...), but what does that have to do with their customers. I suppose WSEX (or any book) could stiff customers saying that they don't have the funds to pay because they lost big with Neteller, but that does not mean your funds are in the same position in a book vs. Neteller. That is a ridiculous statement IMO.

Very good post.

People are acting as if the money arrived at CRIS just because they made an online transaction from their Neteller account.

Ummmm, because it has. :ohno:

I am surprised by the British government's reaction to all this. You think they would be a bit pissed that the reckless actions of the US government are wiping out billions of dollars of value for companies traded on their exchange. Maybe Blair is Bush's bitch.

What is the British government's reaction to this, exactly? What are you talking about?

If you say so.

What happens if Neteller has their accounts frozen? How will the books get their money from these transactions?

Not jumping or panicking, but certainly a cause for concern.
And i am not even a US resident.

Nice to read others here at least find these events cause for concern.

People should have had their money out of neteller when the stock took a nosedive.

Now feds arrest former execs and some la-la land types here still think they can get their money out once a potential story about accounts being frozen breaks, although the line in front of them will be in the many thousands.

No this is not the case . It is in WSEXs Neteller account. Just as when WSEX pay you it goes to your Neteller account , when you pay them it goes to their Neteller account.

If you are worried about your Neteller account not being secure then way are you not concerned about WSEXs Neteller account.

Is the US government more likely ot insist that Neteller freezes the accounts of a small number of books or Millions of voters.

Keep your money in your Neteller account.

If you deposited from Neteller to WSEX yesterday that money has already been transferred from your NT account to WSEX. Now granted, WSEX surely has their own Neteller account that has some funds which it regularly uses to receive deposits and process withdrawals, but that is their own fund, not necessarily earmarked for a customer. Could WSEX lose its balance in that account? I suppose, though highly unlikely they would stiff them. If stiffed, then WSEX use that as an excuse to stiff customers. I suppose, though again very unlikely. But they could use that excuse for customers whether or not you deposited by Neteller. Bottom line is if NT were to freeze accounts tomorrow, you are in a very different situation if your money is in a book than if it is in Neteller. Obviously. Well, obvious to me anyway.

The prudent thing to do is put your money into legit books.

The US government can and will do anything it damn well pleases.

I'm off to good ole Canada this weekend to set up a new neteller account and then will let my books know of my new residency... They can just update my neteller number or mail me a check and I will take care of moving over...
