Aren't you one of the guys advocating for the closures of businesses during this pandemic but are now putting this economy on Trump for actually doing what you want?
Do you actually think nothing should have been closed in any states during this crisis?
I think it's time to open things up in many parts of the country. Certainly not yet in NYC, Northern Jersey and the other heavily infected areas. The people who were acting like the world was ending starting with the first few days of the closures are as off the mark as the people who think we can shut the entire economy down for a couple years. Businesses claiming insolvency after only a few days without income, maybe should have the market prove to them that owning a business isn't for them. The market will absorb and reshape by subtracting the weak businesses and adding new participants as needed. The bailouts only drag along and delay this necessary process and it's been happening for decades.
The story about the Maine restaurant is ridiculous. When 33 people in Maine are hospitalized from CV, it's time to allow life to return to normal there.
I think people living in most parts of the country should be able to receive a haircut and handle routine errands without looking like they've landed on the moon. I live in a "stay at home ordered" part of the country and I've left my house every single day minus a few. If I lived in NYC I would have sheltered in place or left the area completely if able.
I voted for Trump and will again this November, but I don't like him adding this much to the national debt. I would have preferred the inevitable collapse occur during a Democrat's term. Unfortunately, since Trump is the sitting President, whether or not the blame is correctly placed, it will be placed upon Trump.
