Taking advantage of the price. The overwhelming fave Fernando Gonzalez will be withdrawing from this event, he's in Bolelli's half. Bolelli's first round opponent Jarkko Nieminen will also be withdrawing due to an injury suffered last week. Books have not taken this into account yet. The main contenders on the other half of the draw. Simone isn't in great form but had an excellent run here last year, hopefully he can replicate it with an even easier draw.

Two good dogs in Blake/Kubot come through. Pretty horrendous luck in the Vemic match. Gaba has always been known as a fixer and tanks matches regularly. He had no reason to win today as he's already in the main draw. He fought back from a set down to play a 3 hour match. Vemic served for the match at 6-5 in the 3rd, missed 2 mps and got broken. He was 4-0 up in the TB, but was taken to 5-5, then doubelfaulted, for Gaba to serve out the match.
Hopefully that's the worst of my luck this month!
