Silly question not worth starting its own thread for: how come in tennis and golf, people post differently than they do in NBA and NFL in terms of units risked/units to win?

I'm so used to 2.2u to win 2u that I'm having trouble reading these:

Slatter - the unit risked/to win is a more of an American Odds thing, because you're often betting -105, -110 lines. Generally when you lay down at those odds, you're betting to win a 100. But, if you took the dog odds of say +110, you'd be betting a 100 to win 110. I'm generally betting dogs and I always use decimal odds.

That bet example you gave is Lapentti to beat Safin at odds of 2.62 (+162 in American style). I'm risking 1 unit from a 50 unit bankroll...

I was considering going pretty big on this, but have had a tough time with totals lately, and with some of the weird scorelines over the past few days, I'm not sure. It's a very good line from a value perspective considering most books are at 19.5.

Very tempted to fade Muzza and Federer today.
