I'm not a gun hater. Far from it. Don't care really what you guys own.

Gun violence in America is out of control. There is a problem to which I don't have a solution. If two classrooms full of kindergartners getting murdered in cold blood in their classroom isn't a wake up call for this country...we are out of luck.

But, no worries. We'll just continue to read about murders in our schools each school year. Business as usual.

I love my guns, but safety is the issue. All the violence in society that kids are exposed to via video games, TV, etc is the root of the problems. Stop that and you will have a more safe country. If it makes you feel better, I don't own any assault weapons, and really could care less if the government bans them. All my guns are for sporting, which I feel majority gun owners are in the same group.

Like I said before, I don't know the answers but certainly violence, mental health and decay of the traditional family are contributors.

I don't have a source to back this up but I would imagine an overwhelming majority of gun violence is from accidental shootings, domestic disputes, and suicides. Personally I own a gun and at one time used to keep in loaded and easily accessible. Now that I am a little older I don't see a reason to own one. Most people who get a robbed put themselves in a position to get robbed. Obviously school shootings are completely different.

I dont agree with legalizing drugs at all.

this kid or anyone using a knife with this type of rage was more than likely taking drugs, probably prescribed in this case.......

Moving forward from this tragic event what can lawmakers do ,that would try and eliminate these mass mall, movie, school killings!!!! I am truly getting sick of this shit. I know this would cost a shit load of money, but every school should have metal detectors , finger or retinal scans to enter building, armed security, make entering a school like airports, just like 911 this should change the way kids enter school,( i realize this kid could of did this in parking lot, but he gets more satisfaction inside school i believe) Video games 18 and over only, Parents or legal guardians go to jail too with killer, - seems like total disconnect with kids and parents these days.

Wow that is just totally nuts...... is this post a joke?

Overall, Medicare paid individual physicians nearly $64 billion in 2012

Medicare paid Melgen $20.8 million. His lawyer said the doctor's billing conformed with Medicare rules and is a reflection of high drug costs

Want to save even more? You may be able to get Ritalin FREE with the Ritalin Assistance Program.
Are you worried about how to pay for Ritalin? How many of your other medicines can you not afford?

Take a deep breath and relax a bit. Don't go another day worried about how you are going to pay for Ritalin or your other medications. We've helped thousands of Americans receive their medication at little or no cost, and we can help you too face)(*^%

Why do those on the right always miss the obvious....20 injured an opposed to 20 dead. Can you not see the difference between knives and guns? Seriously, why do guns make people so stupid and forget common sense?

No guarantee that all 20 would be dead bet rest assured many would have been... point well made. Yes America has a gun problem on many levels and those on the right and left should see this and acknowledge. WTF is this weirded out love affair anyway? Just in recent years, did not exist in previous decades. Guys used to keep a bat or golf club nearby in case of intruders.

.

If gun violence is "out of control" why then is homicide by firearm not a leading cause of death in America?
Why then is the violent crime rate declining?

Why do you keep referring to Sandy Hook as if it represents "gun violence" when we have no idea if the person who did that act knew it was even real and had serious and severe mental problems?

You just keep swinging and missing. What does not owning a firearm have to do with the topic of gun control? Zero, nothing. You get dumber with every post.....seriously, go play with russ....he gets you.

I am being serious when I say this, you are the most dimwitted person that I've seen post here.

You quite literally can not read and comprehend basic sentences.

My Goodness...you fail at every turn.

What you posted means absolutely zero to the discussion of gun control.....

Right. I mean, the # of violent crimes committed with firearms in America has nothing to do with the topic of gun control.

Really, it doesn't.

I've been married for nearly 16 years Acebb and nobody has kicked in my door yet. I guess it's possibly because I live in a neighborhood where it's unlikely to occur.

I've survived 39 years without a gun. I don't really see a need to own one now. Maybe my opinion would change given a different circumstance but I don't have a need for one.

And just because I don't own one, doesn't mean I don't know how to use one. I'm pretty sure I'm more knowledgeable and trained than the normal guy.

So what?

I've never been in a major car accident. I guess seat belts are irrelevant and can go away.

Your individual experiences have nothing to do with national policies.

You're missing the point. In a society where guns are banned, criminals are not roving the countryside raping and murdering innocent families. Why would you assume if guns were banned in the U.S., it would happen here?

Since "roving the countryside and raping" is hyperbole and not a measure of whether or not gun control would work, how about you respond to the fact that in a society where guns are banned the violent crime rate skyrocketed after the ban?

Can you provide a link to back this claim so I can read up on it? As well as the link I asked about earlier regarding banned firearms in large cities so I can be smarter on the topic?

I believe the leading cause of death in America is heart disease. We aren't comparing heart disease to a preventable death like murder are we?

I mention Sandy Hook all the time because it was the most horrific crime ever committed by gun in our nation's history. It literally should've changed the landscape of gun ownership in our country. It was the worst of the worst. I realized after that day if these innocent kids could be slaughtered in their classroom as they were learning how to read and we did nothing about it, gun control laws in this country will never change. There are no lessons learned and it's as if what happened there was the status quo.

Of course not but they shape how you live your life and view politics. I just don't live my life in fear that a masked man is going to knock down my door someday and rape my wife. It's not something that consumes me.

You were already provided a link. You quoted my post with the link.

Are you seriously suggesting you did not know that DC was on more than 1 occasion the murder capital of America while having a gun ban? You really don't know that Chicago led the nation in homicides while having a gun ban?

I don't live my daily life in fear that some nut is going to shoot up a mall with a gun.

Isn't this type of "logic" fun?
