*THURSDAY'S PLAYS (10-09):
{NCAA FB-Plays}
**TOP RATED PLAY ON: (3 Units)
Clemson +3
-This is the Tigers first roadie..but they should be ready with an extra week to prepare...In this type of game, I gotta side with the better balanced offense...which is with the Tigers, who are averaging 5 ypr and 7.6 ypa.
The Deacons offense is struggling to run it only averaging 61 RYP their last 3 or 2.4 ypr overall...and now ranked 112th in rushing off in the country....When the Deacons struggle to run it, they will have to pass it.....And, the Tiger's pass defense has been solid, snatching 8 interceptions while allowing just 5 TD passes against them.
Bottom line, the Deacons simply struggling with no balance on offense and their O-Line hasn't been able to gel yet, giving up more sacks than any other team in the league so far.
Against this speedy Tiger defense their running game should strugle just like they did vs Navy, which should lead to another loss in the TOP battle...Furthermore, the Deacons defense also allowed the Middies to pound out a whopping 292 yards on the ground against them as well....
WOW!
WOW is right....Now, do you think they can shut down the Tigers Lightning and Thunder attack of Davis and Spiller...I don't...and that should help to provide more open air looks for Harper to hit.....
GO TIGERS!
*REGULAR PLAY ON: (2 Units)
Houston -17 (buy .5 pt)...............................................................................................
Comp play
-UAB coming off a heartbreaker at home...while Cougars rested and ready to light someone up....This is a perfect situation and the opponent/team to do just that to.
The Cougars is very explosive on offense averaging 545.2 ypg and 37.2 ppg...They have found the most success through the air, where they are tossing it for a whopping 400 ypg....This is not good news for the Blazers defense as they come in with the 116th ranked defense against the pass...Tonight their heads should be spinning all game long as the Cougars QB spreads the ball out to a beavy of receivers all over the place.
On a side note...the Blazers also are surrending 178.3 ypg on the ground and also are allowing opponents to convert 47% on 3rd down....
Not Good!
The Blazers have a good QB in Webb...but he is being asked to do to much...He currently leads the Blazers in both rushing and passing...but tonight, he will see how explosive the Cougars are behind the balanced attack led by QB Keenum.
I know the Cougars are very poor in the trends and ats...however, this one is a showcase game and a chance to solidify their position for the Conf USA title....
ALL COUGARS!
