Both teams were relatively quiet as the trade deadline passed Monday afternoon. Whether that proves to be smart or folly is still up for debate. Porcello is potentially a leading candidate for the AL Cy Young with his performances of late. Iwakuma won five straight before getting hammered by the Cubs in his last start. He struggles against Boston in his career and that trend continues. Boston gets the win and Porcello logs his 15[SUP]th[/SUP] victory of the year.

3k LA Angles -1.5 +164 (Winner 8-6)

The A’s made good moves at the trade deadline in order to improve their future. The problem for Oakland right now is that there still is two months of this season left. Graveman pitched well over the last month or so. Even in the loss to Cleveland in his last start, he was solid. Weaver is clearly on his last legs but the fact remains he pitches well at home. Anaheim has a better lineup and that provides the difference. The Angels get the win.

Colorado managed to get back to the .500 mark on the year and is closing the gap in the playoff picture. Chatwood has double digit victories but faces a solid pitcher in Maeda. The Rockies took the opening game of the set but it’s a tougher road here. Colorado hits well at Coors Field but so does everyone else. The Dodgers have the edge on the mound and that delivers the victory in the last game of this set.

I am siding with the Rangers in this one. I can’t ignore how bad Keuchel has been against Texas this season, as he has allowed a combined 17 runs in his three starts against them, losing all three starts. Meanwhile Perez has been outstanding in his career against Houston, sporting a sparkling 1.88 ERA to go along with 5-2 record, and Houston’s offense has been very quiet, so I think the Rangers take this one on the road.

3k Arizona Over 9.5 -110

Let’s look for plenty of runs in this game. Chase Anderson has really struggled on the road this year and this is a park that is not good for a pitcher that struggles. He also has a 4.00 ERA in his career in this park and the Diamondbacks have a good enough offense to tag him for some runs. Braden Shipley has a 4.76 ERA in his first two career starts and the Diamondbacks as a team have the 2nd worst home ERA in the league. The Brewers should get some good offense in this one. Look for double digits in runs easily here.

3k San Diego Over 8 -103

Going to look for a lot of runs in this one. The Phillies offense is not special by any means, but they have averaged 5.80 rpg in their last five games and 4.50 rpg in their last 10. They will be taking on Christian Friedrich, who has a 5.02 ERA here at home this year. Jeremy Hellickson has been hot for the Phillies, but he has terrible numbers vs the Padres including a 6.50 ERA in three starts in this park and the Padres offense has been far better this year than in years past. This one should be fun.

You can have all the stats in the world, and be on the wrong side of a pick from time to time...... if it were to be easy everyone would be doing it!!! I have had a few ups and downs in the 2nd half of the baseball season (more downs then ups) and have a great feeling about this weekend my friend!!! Hope you had a better night then me my friend.

3k San Diego Over 8 -103 (Winner 9 Runs)

The A’s aren’t generating much offense with their current lineup. Neal makes his first career appearance against the Orioles. Dealing with a powerful lineup like Baltimore’s is too much for a last place club. Baltimore gets the victory as Miley wins his first game for the Orioles.
