WEDNESDAY NON MEMBER RESULTS (0-1) -$5,000 . 2ND HALF NON MEMBER RESULTS (19-14) 58% +$15,070

Missed this one tonight.... here are my results.....

Non Member Play of The Week - 5k LA Angels +104 (Lost)

Duffy is pitching well since going back into the rotation for the Royals. That’s the only thing that makes this a tough decision here. Granted, Shoemaker pitched dismally in his previous outings at Kauffman Stadium but that’s a small sample size to go off. Right now, it’s all about momentum. The Angels have it, with seven wins in their last 10 games. The Royals clearly don’t as they lost seven of their last 10. Shoemaker pitches better than his last couple outings here and the Angels win on getaway day.

BIG in the early action are you???

3k Philadelphia -1.5 +135

Neither team is playing all that well, but the Phillies have some edges in this one. They have gone 23-28 on the road, compared to Atlanta’s 14-36 mark at home, which is just pitiful. The Phillies will send out Aaron Nola, who has a 1.73 ERA in four career starts vs the Braves, while Atlanta will counter with Matt Wisler, who has a 5.13 ERA in three career starts vs the Phils. Atlanta is also just 8-21 in his last 29 starts overall, including just 2-9 in his last 11 home starts. The Phils also have a slight edge on offense, especially on the road as they have averaged 4.16 runs-per-game away from home, while the Braves have put up just 3.44 runs-per-game at home. Look for the Phillies to take this one.

ADDING LATE ACTIONS:

3k San Diego Over 9 +100

Going to look for a high scoring game here. The Reds offense has not been that bad this year, but their pitching has been horrible, especially on the road where they have allowed over 6.0 rpg. Finnegan has posted a 10.90 ERA in his last four games and a 5.10 ERA on the road so far, while Jackson has a 4.25 career ERA in this park. Finnegan’s last four starts have averaged 14.5 rpg, while Cincinnati road games have averaged 10.43 rpg and San Diego home games have put up 9.46 rpg. Both teams clearly have enough offense to get this game to double figures, especially vs shoddy pitching.

SUNDAY NON MEMBERPOWER BASEBALL . 2ND HALF NON MEMBER RESULTS (21-19) 53% +$6,400

Here we go my friends....

3k NY Yankees -113

Blake Snell has pitched well this year, but the Yanks seem to have something going right now. Michael Pineda has pitched his best back to back games of the year over his last two and I think he’ll shut down the weak Ray’s offense. I expect to Snell to pitch well also, but I think the Yanks win a close, low scoring game. Let’s take the Yanks on the road.

3k Cincinnati -120

The Padres dealt away their most valuable trade chips in the last week. Besides Cashner and Rea, Drew Pomeranz was dealt earlier in the month and Melvin Upton Jr. was dealt in the last few days. Cincinnati won six of their last eight entering Saturday and get a valuable arm back in the rotation. Bailey is a major improvement over some of the guys we saw the Reds trot out there earlier in the year. The Reds dispatch San Diego and get the win to take the series.

3k Texas -127

The Royals are sliding right now and their hopes of a third straight pennant grow dimmer by the day. Kansas City entered Saturday losers of eight of their last 10 games. They are increasingly looking like sellers as opposed to buyers at this point. Texas is in a battle with Houston for the top spot in the AL West. After leading by 10 games last month, the lead is less than half of that right now. Still, the Rangers face an unsettled Royals team and that’s enough to give them the edge here in the finale.

Here we go my friends....

3k Milwaukee -115

The Padres are clearly rebuilding, which is what San Diego fans dealt with for the last decade. The problem is, if nothing works, how do you find a solution? Milwaukee is playing well in the last few weeks and is sorting out some of their question marks. If they deal Lucroy and others to get some young pieces that are controllable for an extended period, the future gets brighter. In this one, it’s tough to like the Padres because there isn’t much left. Take Milwaukee here, even on the road.

OTHER PLAYS:

3k Miami +162

3k Washington Under 8 +105

ADDING LATE PLAYS:

Back home from one hell of a day.....

3k Boston -106

3k Boston Under 8 -105

Both teams were relatively quiet as the trade deadline passed Monday afternoon. Whether that proves to be smart or folly is still up for debate. Porcello is potentially a leading candidate for the AL Cy Young with his performances of late. Iwakuma won five straight before getting hammered by the Cubs in his last start. He struggles against Boston in his career and that trend continues. Boston gets the win and Porcello logs his 15[SUP]th[/SUP] victory of the year.

3k LA Angles -1.5 +164

The A’s made good moves at the trade deadline in order to improve their future. The problem for Oakland right now is that there still is two months of this season left. Graveman pitched well over the last month or so. Even in the loss to Cleveland in his last start, he was solid. Weaver is clearly on his last legs but the fact remains he pitches well at home. Anaheim has a better lineup and that provides the difference. The Angels get the win.
