Thursday NCAA Power Football Results (1-2) -$7,100

Very slow start to the week 5 in the NCAA football. Here are my results.

5k Memphis -10 -102 (Lost 34-27)

3k Memphis Over 57.5 -105 (Winner 61 Points)

Memphis is coming off a tough loss last week but they learned from their mistakes. Temple piled up points the last couple weeks. Beating up on SMU and Charlotte doesn’t right all the issues that the Owls have. Temple turns the ball over far too often to be reliable. Memphis is a solid offensive team that piles up yards and points. Playing at home, you have to give the edge to the Tigers in this contest.

7k (High Roller) Western Kentucky -3 +100 (Lost 52-55)

The Hilltoppers feature a solid defense, especially a solid rush defense which is ranked 15th in the Country, so I am confident they can slow down the Louisiana Tech offense in this one. Also, Western Kentucky features a solid passing game, averaging over 330 passing yards per game and Louisiana Tech is ranked near the bottom of the country in pass defense so I think the Hilltoppers should have success in the air in this one. Louisiana Tech has lost all three games they’ve played against what can be considered strong teams, so I am confident siding with Western Kentucky.

Let’s jump right into a value play in the Thursday night game. My simulations show just 36 points hitting the scoreboard between the Cardinals and 49ers, well Under the posted total of 42. These struggling teams will be battling on short rest and coming off poor offensive outings. The 49ers got just 295 yards and 17 points in a loss to the Cowboys, while the Cardinals committed five turnovers in a 17-13 loss to the Rams. Drew Stanton is one of the worst quarterbacks of the past 20 years to throw at least 400 passes in the NFL. Stanton has made 12 starts in the league and his team has scored more than 20 points in three of those. The total has gone Over 43 in three of those games as well. Considering the other quarterback is Blaine Gabbert, this one feels pretty safe. I don't even hate it if Palmer plays -- he hasn't been very good this year, either.

College football Game of the Day: Clemson at Boston College by covers

Clemson Tigers at Boston College Eagles (+17, 42.5)

Clemson once again has put itself in the driver's seat in the ACC and will try to maintain its momentum against the conference doormats when it visits Boston College on Friday. The third-ranked Tigers, who served notice with their 42-36 home win over then-No. 4 Louisville last weekend, will try to extend a pair of impressive winning streaks - their 19-game regular-season run and an 11-game string in ACC play.

On the other side of the coin are the Eagles, who have dropped 10 straight conference affairs, including a 49-0 rout at the hands of Virginia Tech on Sept. 17. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is not looking too far ahead, knowing how much of a struggle it was to get out of Chestnut Hill the last time the Tigers paid a visit in 2014, when his team eked out a 17-13 triumph.

"They always play tough and every time we go up there, it is always a battle," he told reporters this week. "We've had two or three times up there that we've been fortunate to come away with a win, especially a couple of years ago." Boston College followed its ugly loss to the Hokies with consecutive non-conference victories, including a 35-3 rout of Buffalo on Saturday.


LINE: Clemson opened as a 16.5-point road favorite and was bet up as high as -17.5. The total has moved down from 45 to 42.5 points with money on the Under.

WEATHER: The forecast for Alumni Stadium is calling for clear skies and winds blowing south at 4 mph.

WHAT BOOKS SAY: "Obviously a very difficult spot for Clemson coming off their epic game versus Louisville last week. Now they have to travel on a short week to take on a very good Boston College defense. But as good as BC is on defense, they're equally as bad on offense. Clemson is going to struggle to score, in my opinion, so the 17 points on the road seems a bit high. But it's always tough backing Boston College because their offense is so inept. We'll see, but you have to assume Clemson comes into this game a bit flat, so I believe BC is a live home dog." -- Peter Childs, supervisor of risk management for Sportsbook.ag.

WHAT SHARPS SAY: "Clemson is now 5-0 SU (just 2-3 ATS) after its big 42-36 win over the Louisville Cardinals last week. Boston College looks much improved from last season and comes into Week 6 sitting at 3-2 after hammering Buffalo 35-3. The Tigers offense averages 35.2 PPG, while BC posts only 23.4 thus far, but these conference opponents are very evenly matched on the defensive side of the ball, with Clemson conceding 16 PPG and the Eagles allowing just 17.2." - Covers Experts AAA Sports.

ABOUT CLEMSON (5-0, 2-0 ACC, 3-2 ATS): As quarterback Deshaun Watson goes, so go the Tigers, and the junior recorded season highs of 306 yards and five touchdowns in the thriller against Louisville. He also tacked on a season-best 91 rushing yards and has been sacked only twice this season, giving him enough time to consistently find the likes of Mike Williams (25 catches, 373 yards, two TDs) and Ray-Ray McCloud (24, 271, two). Senior linebacker Ben Boulware is coming off a monster performance in which he registered a career-high 18 tackles (three for losses), a fumble recovery and a pass deflection - good enough to earn him ACC Player of the Week honors at his position.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE (3-2, 0-2, 2-2 ATS): Although the level of opponent had a lot to do with it, the Eagles have to be pleased with their improvement on offense, as they averaged 445 total yards in their last two games after being held to 124 by the Hokies. Patrick Towles threw four TD passes with no interceptions in the wins over Wagner and Buffalo after recording two scores through the air and four picks in the first three games of the season. The Eagles lead FBS teams in total defense (202 yards allowed per game) and are seventh in rushing defense (78).

Made a small error sending these plays our early and listed Clemson as a 5k play and not a 7k Play (as ALL High Rollers game are played at). So I will lists the amount list on the report that I send out to all my members. I dropped the ball on that one and it's not going to happen again my friend!!! First big line move on Old Dominion given out @ -8.5 and closing @ -12 for the game. No surprise that were on a game before the line moves and I'm going to do it again these next few days my friend!!! Hope you had a great night as well!!!


7k (High Roller) Boise State -17.5 +100 (Easy Blowout Winner 49-14)

Last year they were 31 point favorites and while this team is even better than that edition, they are just 17 point favorites. The Lobos have powerful ground attack and have been getting their yardage in huge chunks, but they will be facing the 5th ranked run defense of the Broncos, who are also 11th in the nation in yards per play overall (4.4), including 5th in the nation in yards per attempt on the ground (2.4). I just don’t see the Lobos getting their big plays in this one. I also don’t see them stopping an offense that rolled up 40 first downs and 636 yards last year on them. The Broncos thoroughly dominated the game last year and still lost. That won’t happen here as they win this one by at least 21 points.

Boise State is:
17-7 ATS in their last 24 games on grass
32-15-1 ATS in their last 48 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game

New Mexico is:
5-14 ATS in their last 19 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game
3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up win


5k (High Roller) Clemson -17 -104 (Easy Blowout Winner 56-10)

I am taking Clemson in this match up. Boston College has a very weak offense which is averaging only 23.4 points per game, and they have played some weak teams so I doubt they do much of anything on offense against Clemson’s stifling defense. Also, the Boston College defense has struggled against strong teams, allowing 49 points to Virginia Tech and Clemson’s offense is just as strong as the Virginia Tech offense, so I expect Clemson to have no problem scoring. Boston College lost 49-0 to Virginia Tech so I am confident Clemson can cover the 17 points.

4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after an ATS win.
4-0 ATS after totaling more than 200 rushing yards in their previous game.

Lost a bunch of smaller plays..... those that are not on my team I normally break down the report and send out 2 or 3 reports to help build the bankroll. I doesn't matter with the level that you wager as I work with all types of gamblers. Here are my results.....

7k (High Rollers) Michigan -30 -106 (Super Easy Blowout Winner 78-0)

Rutgers hung tough with Iowa in their conference opener but was trashed by the Buckeyes. Michigan pulverized their first four opponents and survived a battle with the Badgers. Rutgers struggles in conference play and hasn’t done much since joining the Big Ten. Michigan learned about itself last week. Jim Harbaugh makes sure his team doesn’t forget the lesson. Michigan wins this one in one-sided fashion to improve to 6-0 and leave Rutgers win less in the Big Ten.

7k (High Roller) Georgia Over 41.5 -107 (Nice Winner 42 Points)

7k (High Roller) Georgia -6.5 -108 (Easy Blowout Winner 28-14)

Much like last week, South Carolina is not expected to win this home tilt. Look for them to come out loose and put up some points against the Dawgs, but not enough to win or even cover. Georgia will win this high scoring affair soundly.

7k (High Roller) Miami Florida -3 -105 (Lost 19-20)

I like the Canes here as they have the far better defense, while the offenses are pretty even. Both teams have scored a ton this year and both teams run the ball very well. I give the ‘Canes a slight edge at QB as Kaaya has experience in big games, while the pressure has seemed to get the Francois in the big games. He was totally outplayed in the loss to Louisville and had some breakdowns late in their loss to North Carolina last week. Miami is home where they are tough to beat and this will be a statement game for them within the state of Florida. It won’t be easy, but still it all points to a Miami win here, despite the fact that the road team and Underdog have dominated this series of late.

7k (High Roller) Notre Dame +2.5 -105 (Lost 3-10)

It's been such an up-and-down season for this Fighting Irish team. NC State has yet to play a team that I believe will end the season with a winning record. Still not convinced Notre Dame's defense is any good, but getting points in this game makes me not really care too much about the defense. Notre Dame takes this game.

7k (High Roller) Oklahoma State -16.5 -105 (Lost)

Iowa State threw a real scare into Baylor last week. That game was a home contest for the Cyclones. They haven’t looked good on the road in years. The Cyclones were beaten 42-3 at Iowa and 41-20 at TCU this year. Oklahoma State was sharp against the Longhorns and has a prolific offensive attack. The Cyclones, after suffering a last second meltdown last week, are no match here. Rudolph and the Cowboys win big for their second straight conference win.

7k (Vegas Source) Pittsburgh -8.5 -102 (Easy Blowout Winner 31-13)

I have to go with the Steelers seeing how good they looked Sunday night, and because of the poor play of Fitzpatrick the last few weeks. Fitzpatrick has now thrown nine interceptions over his last two games with just one touchdown, so I am not worried about him, and the Steelers defense has been good at stopping the run, allowing only 78 rushing yards per game, so I am confident the Steelers can hold down the Jets offense. Also, the Jets pass defense has been lacking so far this season allowing an average of 285 yards in the air per game, so I think Big Ben will have a lot of success connecting with Brown and Coates, and the Jets will be facing the best running back they’ve seen all season, so I think the Steelers can definitely win this one by a touchdown or more.

7k (Vegas Source) New England -10 -108 (Easy Blowout Winner 33-13)

I expect the Patriots to roll over the hapless Browns. Brady is back from his suspension and I expect him to light up the scoreboard against a very inexperienced defensive unit. The Browns offense which is going with a rookie QB will have a tough time scoring points against a defense that is only allowing an average of 16 points per game. Kesler has only thrown one touchdown in two games, and the Patriots just need to stop Crowell and I am confident they can contain him. The Patriots running game has been outstanding, and they now have Brady back, so I expect the Patriots to win this this by two touchdowns or more.

5k Cincinnati -2 -102 (Lost 14-28)

This will be the best team Dallas has played, and Cincy comes in with extra rest. The Bengals are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and the Cowboys, despite covering against the Bears, are generally a bad home bet 16-34-1 ATS. The Bengals’ defense looked fierce with leader Vontaze Burfict back in the fold, and the Cowboys’ pass defense is no match for A.J. Green. Even if Tyler Eifert can’t make it back, I like the Bengals’ offensive line to control the game. I can’t see the Cowboys’ ragtag group of passing-game weapons carrying the team to victory if needed. Give this one to the well-rested Bengals.

Depending who’s the QB for Denver, the Falcons may steal one away from the Broncos.Atlanta is playing some good football right now, and should keep this contest within a score when all is said and done.

The head to head records may favor the Chargers this team around as they are the underdogs, sadly the Raiders are too red hot. The Chargers have yet to finish complete game, likewise the Raiders are playing playoff conceding football. The Raiders, they are firing in all three phases this year and have lost only to the 3-1 Falcons. San Diego is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 against Oakland, 1-7 ATS in its last eight in October, and 2-5 ATS in its last seven Week 5 outings. The Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 against the AFC. Will likely be another close loss for the Chargers…but not closer than four points.

So, you have to know that. You have to be okay with it.” The Giants’ reeling offense could run into further trouble against a Green Bay defense that is only getting healthier.
