regarding Andy Beal vs the "Corporation" Ivey had to bail everyone out. Andy Beal beat Lederer. And made his sister look like a retard, also he crushed Harmon. The Corporation was stuck 10 Million at 1 point.

I remember them talking about this once on Poker After Dark when I was watching it. He had the corp stuck big time and they sent Ivey in. Don't quote me as I don't follow this stuff closely but thought they said Ivey beat him out of 36 million that day.

BTW I didn't know Howard was a regular in the big game. I knew he pooled his money when Beal came around but didn't know he played on a regular basis with the big boys. If so does he hold his own with the Chip Reece's of the world? Either way frankly I'm not overly impressed with Howard or little sisters' game.

One of my biggest wins was a $1000 buyin tournament where we started with 10,000 chips. Well I arrived late by about 45 minutes on purpose. I was playing live action and was up around $1400. But I thought that I would still have around 9500 chips. Well to my dismay, I only had 8700 chips after that 45 minutes. I believe that the blinds started at 50/100. The problem was that there were 3 players not at the table for 20 and one guy NEVER showed up for the tournament after paying or qualifying to play. I wasnt counting on more than 1 person to not be at the table. But I won that tournament anyway. There were 435 players and it paid $134,000 for first. So every tournament since then I arrive late, but usually only 25 minutes late or so.

I mention this story, in case you are wondering why some of the pros arrive 1-2 hours late to the main event. They want to conserve their strength and not be tired early into the day

do you really believe they think arriving 45 minutes late will "conserve strength"? Arriving late is stupid, brash, and giving up possible big EV situations. Most pros will tell you they arrive late so they do not get involved in early tournament frenzy which results in poor play.

WVU, well Phil Hellmuth has said in the past that he would arrive 3 hours late so he would be FRESHER later in the day when the chips start to fly.

Texas Dolly arrived 1 hour late this year as did Johnny Chan, of course they both got busted

I only do it now because ever since arriving late by 45 minutes and losing 13% of my stack, I won the whole damn tournament. Sort of my ONLY superstition that I have now.

But I do think that in WSOP with online qualifiers, you might be missing out on some good pots with poor players. But I was not playing in tournaments with online qualifiers. Maybe a few won seats with sit-n-go satellites, but not that many.

Helmuth is full of himself as well as shit. He does that for attention and for the reason I stated. While you need to be fresh and alert to play poker, it is not tough to do when you are only playing one table. Why sit out when you might be getting dealt aa or kk. It is free to see the cards. Anyone who purposely loses out on seeing his cards is an idiot, full of himself, or both.

If you are mentioning truly for that reason, then you are clearly wrong as WVU said. Just brash and stupid. If mentioning it for other reason, to show what a great player you are, which is more likely. Then that is fine for those that believe you.

Tuan Le is eliminated.

In a continuing sad tale, Vinny Vinh played today and made it to the dinner break. He had yet to make it back from that break and is being blinded off.

Matt24 has built up some more chips. He's playing at a tough table with Joe Sebok and Evelyn Ng.
