Even money that nobody ends up naming the winner.

Hell I will give anyone +300 if they want to take the field of players listed here. They can bet up to $100, but they cannot count my 10 selections as their field unless someone else named one of those players

Not sure who is in the lineup for tomorrow (Saturday), but it has been confirmed that Fezzik will be playing. Best of luck to the Fez-man who is an underrated tournament player.

Montel Willliams was chip leader for 2 hours... lol

There were many familiar faces on Day 1B of the Main Event. Scotty Nguyen, Dan Harrington and Evelyn Ng all did a great job of grabbing headlines throughout the day. The biggest surprise, however, was the play of talk show host Montel Williams.

Montel Williams, Event 55, World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold'em - Day 1B, 2007 World Series of Poker.
Williams was the overall chip leader for at least two hours and the rest of the day he was near the top. He lost a bit of his stack near the end of the day but still managed to make it to Day 2. There's not too many celebrities that can say the same. Williams was gracious enough to talk to PokerListings.com after his phenomenal first day at the WSOP.
So what was your experience like today?
It's been over the top. I mean if you take a look back over the day I held the chip lead for two straight hours. It was great to get a taste of what it feels like to be the chip leader and I'm definitely going to get another bite.

Have you played in other WSOP events?
I have not played in other WSOP events although I have been playing lots of other tournaments lately. I'm really happy with today's outcome. The first time I've ever entered a WSOP event and I actually held the chip lead for a good portion of the day. I'm feeling a little disappointed about how the day ended. I talked to a few people and I think I've only played a couple hands wrong.
I also got beat on the river twice. The first time somebody made a straight and the second time a player made a flush. I also had pocket aces against pocket eights and ended up the loser. In those situations what else can you do?
I've learned a lot from today.

How long have you been playing poker?
It's kinda funny actually. Although I haven't spent a lot of time playing organized tournaments like this I was in the Navy and we obviously spent a great deal of time out on the sea. That's one thing you do out there - you play a lot of cards. There were times where your entire paycheck was on the line. Once you do that a couple times it sobers you and makes you play the game correctly.
I'm going to stay on top of my game and I'll battle back. I'm not even worried about it.
How would you describe yourself as a player?
I think if I really had to approach a style I'd say I'm a tight player that can occasionally be aggressive. I'm not afraid to mix it up.
What was it like to be a part of Annie Duke and Don Cheadle's Ante Up for Africa Charity Event?
It was unbelievable. Let me tell you I've been here for a couple days and I got to play in that event and finished around 40th and that was against some of the greatest players in the world. Today I was rocking and I have to say I'm feeling pretty good about my game. I think there were a lot of people who didn't know who I was before I got here today but they know now.
Good Luck on Day 2, Montel.

Sorry for the lack of updates yesterday. I was out celebrating my retirement.

Notables eliminated of Day 1b:

Seidel
J. Schulman
Liebert
Fischman
Harman
Lisandro
Bonomo
Duke
Lederer
Farha
Davidson Matthew
Juanda

The feature table was mostly Scotty Nguyen and Evelyn Ng.

On the plus side, we won't have to watch incessant Annie Duke coverage since she hit the rail early.

Pham
S. Nguyen
Josephy
Van Alstyne
R. Mizrachi
Ng
Tony G
Hennigan
Hachem
Harrington

Fezzik made it through the day, but is relatively short-stacked.

It's not your imagination. He is more focused on his business interest, Full Tilt Poker, and is really not much of a player at all these days.

He actually won a few big tournaments in 2001-2003 but that is unimportant. The important fact to understand where Lederer stands among the other players is that for over 10 years he had been a successful cash game player on the highest level. A very good illustration to that is that he was a part of the Corporation. Do yourself a favor and google "corporation andy beal". You will learn that there is much more to poker than tournaments.

Data,When I made this point I was just saying this in my viewing poker tournaments on TV mostly ESPN and etc that the last 4 yrs since poker has hit its egnormous popurarity and this guy must be living off his past glory because I never see him win much or be at a final table at all for that matter.Im no big poker player at all but do like to watch it on TV and was just making a personal opinion of this guy.I do see him pushing Full Tilt Poker all the time and why not strike while the iron is hot to make a buck like everybody else does but I was making this toward his poker play the last few years not his outside interest I could care less about that and just think this guy is way overratted thats all.Gravy

Sadly, Jose Canseco and Nelly have been sent to the rail today.
Even more sad, no one had picked them in this pool.

Evidently, you did not google "corporation andy beal" as I suggested.

regarding Andy Beal vs the "Corporation" Ivey had to bail everyone out. Andy Beal beat Lederer. And made his sister look like a retard, also he crushed Harmon. The Corporation was stuck 10 Million at 1 point.

Doyle Brunson should do everybody a favor and retire.
