are they liable for the 30 million? (even with that sentence)

Yes I would make them liable. A business should always cover their tracks from start to finish. (no pun intended) If not they pay a price!

smokey, as I stated above, when I learned more about horses, it was easier to understand....

for the record, I do beleive tha they were not clear with their sentence & it caused people to beleive facts that were not true,

I do not beleive they are liable for full damages, but If I were running the book I would make some sort of comprimose with you & make sure the rules are clear for future.... I suggested to steve a link to the payouts would have been nice next to the sentence

lets hope the powers at WSEX will make you a compromise offer... but they are within the rules as they are posted.

I suggest we continue the disccussion in a pleasant manner, we dont need bold type etc, if we are all civil, it will be settled easier.

you might make them liable, but no reasobale judge would, especially if it was in their rules & there was only one misleading sentence.

would a store owner be liable to sell a 10 000$ televeision for 10$ due to an error with the price on the sticker?

Smokey: You can take it over to Bill Dozer (SBR) or Roberto (TOW) but I doubt they can assist you. I usually side with the player ( I'm not anybody important), but you are at the mercy of the book here.

I hope something works for you, but WSEX seems inflexible in their position, and I doubt HBO cares about this, or ESPN, 60 minutes, etc.

smokey,

do not be so sure that WSEX will not attempt to call you or someothing, it may not be till monday or tuesday till head honchos over there read the entire story....

in the meantime, stay polite, let us discuss it like gentlement, & we shall hope for the best....

at the end of the day they have always been an A+ book, let us be patinet... deal?

Will be reassuring to read what Jay C says about this situation.

Smokey, sorry to hear about you losing out on such a nice payout.

Regardless, nothing positive for WSEX will come from this.

I dont bet horses, but I always assumed all books had payout limits.

SS, so in your world and WSEXs world, everything is great if there is ONLY ONE MISLEADING SENTENCE? That is a crazy analogy! This whole scenario is getting crazier by the minute. LT

Smokey,

I agree 100% with this. I am sure this will make this way to the head of WSEX. I can't see how they won't side with you. Books make mistakes and a lot of times they own up to them. I would give them a chance to correct their mistake.

<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Smokey,

Please stop editing what we said. It said payouts are BASED on actual track odds BASED MEANS DERIVED FROM We never claimed to pay actual track odds on trifectas.

We have had these exact rules for 10 years. Everyday trifectas have been paid out the exact same way. Everyday some trifectas are reduced to a nax 300-1 payout. This is nothing new or misleading. BASED on actual track odds was added so people didn't think they would be paid the morning line on the program
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

THAT IS TOTAL BULLSHIT... IT WAS ADDED SO PEOPLE WOULD KNOW (THINK) THAT THEY WOULD BE PAID THE ACTUAL PAYOUT THAT OCCURED AT THE TRACK....

SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT IF A HORSE OPENED AT 60-1 YOU JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN THE HORSE WENT OFF AT 4-1 THE PLAYER DID NOT THINK HE WOULD STILL GET 60-1 EVEN WHEN EVERYONE AT THE TRACK WAS PAID 4-1... SURE...

I GUESS YOU WANT ME TO BUY SOME BEACH CONDO IN TULSA TOO..

GET REAL.. YOU KNOW WHY IT'S THERE.. TO GET PEOPLE LIKE ME TO THINK YOU WOULD ACTUALLY PAY WHAT WAS PAID TO EVERYONE AT THE TRACK....

PLEASE DON'T PLAY ME LIKE THAT.......
