In terms of Betcris, I am still lucky enough to be able to earn Betpoints (I know some people have been kicked out of the bonus program).

anyway, the Betpoints give me a 150$ Bonus Play for every 100 000 bet points.

This one factor, in and of itself more than pays off any fees I wind up having to pay for payouts.

WSEX is OK, just not really worth it to me anymore for the rare line. The lack of Q's and props doesn't help any. I'd go and try Vegasvic before I'd go back to WSEX.

That's 10k points, makes them roughly -109. I'll still play there on occasion, but usually deposit the $50 minimum to be eligible for full prizes in some contest, not to really play there. In other words they have caused me to only use them in a trivial way.

Matchbook will pay the transfer fee, one time only from WSEX, in the form of commission credits, which are as good as cash, IMO. It may take a couple of phone calls, and e-mails to do it, but it can be done.

The policy hasn't been changed, but if you cry about it, they will do it one time for free, as they did for me.

My transfer was completed in like under 2 hours, Commision- credits took longer, but were completed professionally, and same day.

I protest a fee to transfer to a sister book ( or any book very strongly), esp. a sister book, owned by the same people.

I got what I wanted... WSEX to MB with no fee. Something I learned from my 1st wife.... Bitch, they will cave , and give you what you want.

File this in the DUUUUHHHH department for me. I JUST noticed that WSEX has been charging a $50 fee for transfers to Matchbook and The Greek.

UNREAL as far as transferring to Matchbook.....!!! And they should not have charged a fee for transferring ANYWHERE without being up fornt about it.

Their lack of disclosure is major bs in my opinion and totally unbecoming of what WSEX has always been about.

They needed to say something about this fee the first time I asked for a transfer. VERY SLEAZY to just go ahead and charge it without disclosing it !!!!

I will call tomorrow and see if they want to keep me as a customer......after 10 years of playing there.

Will post a follow up after they do a reversal.....or after I close my account.

By the way.....I agree with SS that (at least when it comes to NHL) there IS value in WSEX's lines......but not enough to put up with this kind of bs.

Mostly it is really sad that what was once an innovative book run by a man with major balls seems to have deteriorated into a below average book with a proclivity to nickle & dime its customers.

I highly doubt WSEX will reverse these prior fees charged, Zapster !

I think you'll be "closing" the account, as I did.

I'm not even too confident in Matchbook, these days.... WTF no convenient ways to deposit for most people, not even MG/WU !

Their CC processor charges ( cash advance)too, if you can even get your card to work.

They are like a C- book now, IMO

Instead of WSEX I'd go with:

(low juice)

5D
Betphoenix
Betonline
Vegasvic

(full juice)

Greek/Jam

not many others

lots of advantages with a local or agent, if that fits you.

For me, WSEX is a shit book. Not worth the hassle for the occasional better line.

I like to know that when I request a payout on a Monday - I have it by Friday (yes the Friday of the same week not a Friday within the next 3 months like WSEX process.

Plenty of books out there that pay fast - no reason to waste time with a book that hasnt figured out a way to improve that.

"Shit Book" ( ala Chuck Sims) might be too harsh, I see them as a book that will eventually find a way to pay you, but they should not charge for transfers, in the mean time.

Jay Cohen doesn't seem to have much to say about it.

I just see no reason to use them, the odd better line ain't worth the hassle.

The industry, as a whole, is declining, esp. books that rely on USA customers ( read non-Euro books).

Watch out for -110 books that cater to post-up Gringos, and offer late lines and low limits.... no reason to play at these types... they offer nothing.

At least a CRIS offers early lines and high limits, even if their stupid slogan, now makes sense:

"We can't pay you fast enough" !

Oddly enough my playing at WSEX is a result of one of the first posts I made at Rx almost 10 years ago. It was a good run......and their buy & sell "contract" thing was very innovative (at the time...before Matchbook). Of the books you mention I am currently already at Greek & Jam....(I'm also at Matchbook and yes it is hard to post up funds there).

But I am definitely looking for another out or two before baseball kicks in. I will take a look at the 4 you mentioned.

Oh and yeah....I see that my more recent CC charges at WSEX have caused me to incur a "foreign currency conversion fee" of about 5% of my deposit. So between the fee coming in and the fee going out AND the times they have sent me bank drafts that my bank refused to accept for deposit, it sounds like this WSEX run is over.

Too bad. They really once were a great book.

Just a follow up.........I spoke to WSEX today

In fairness to WSEX there has apparently been a lot of abuse of the book to book transfers. People using them "as a bank" because of the easier deposit methods and then transferring the money out without significant rollover. Unfortunately in order to curb that, they set something up that adversely has affected those of us who use b to b transfers as a legit tool.

They looked over my account and have reversed the fees.....and we will have a conversation soon about what I can and can't do in terms of future transfers.

So it was gratifying to once again see WSEX act like the class act it had been for the past decade. We are not talking about a whole lot of money here....but it was a matter pf principle. MAINLY though, they demonstrated that my continuing to do business with them is something they value and (other than winning and getting paid) I think that is all we really can ask of a book.

So I am going to reward their consideration with continued loyalty and they will stay in the mix along with BetJam, Olympic and Matchbook.

I still would like to add one more book to that mix comes baseball season.....but I will post that question separately.
