Would you still take Marcus Mariota #1 overall after tonight?

the hate has gone too far on Winston because he acts like a moron. A lot of people act like morons at 20-21 years old and then mature though.

If someone gets him mid to late 1st rd that is a hell of a nice gamble.

Hopefully when Vlad replies to this he doesn't get himself banned. Deep breath Vlad, deep breath

Guys like Winston don't change. Give him millions and all of a sudden he is changing? He seems to be a good leader but he will be doing the stuff stuff at 21 that he does at 32. Is he intelligent? You guys can figure that out. But let me ask you, when was the last time an unintelligent qb was good to great in the NFL?

Cardale Jones is actually draft eligible. Could he go from 3rd string at OSU to #1 pick in the NFL draft? Measurable are off the charts. He has mobility and a gun.

He is also 22 years old. Given the QB situation at Ohio State, he should enter the draft. I'm sure he'd get drafted in the later rounds and so why not instead of trying to transfer.

Mariota's arm strength is below avg. I dont see how he would excel at the next level. The speed of the game at the next level will eat him up.

Totally agree.

He is not a pro QB. He can't make NFL throws and I don't see him taking 5 step drops and being successful.

This is dumb, to even think Mariotta would be a good NFL quarterback is stupid. He makes 2-3 pro passes a game. Has he ever taken a snap under center? Complete gimmick offense. He missed wide open guys last night. Only time he has a successful 30 yard throw is in busted coverage. Sure he is smart but so is Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Only ones that are high on him are from the Pacific Northwest.

I've been saying this for awhile. People have washed their hands clean the of him and all perspective is gone. On the field he is a superior prospect to Mariota. Winston can step in now and start for an NFL team. There is too much projection with Mariota.

Not sure how you define intelligence. His intelligence is a large reason he is so popular with teammates and coaches. Its obvious watching him and seeing him throw with anticipation and understanding the weaknesses in coverage.

Again I say, I would not spend an #1 overall on either Mariota or Winston.

Bucs fan here and I'm hoping they don't.

They simply aren't worthy of it.

They are middle to late 1st round talent in most other drafts.

Neither is probably even as good as Teddy Bridgewater who went 32nd overall last year...

Wasn't that high on him before, but that being said, one robin does not a spring make.

Looks like Mariota could fall to #20 in the draft....right to the Eagles....

But after today, I might have to say passamundo......

Damm. In 3 days you go from wanting to trade your 1st round picks for the next 10 years . McCoy , and anything else TAMPA wants for the first pick all the way to not wanting to draft him with the 20th pick.

Quite the change there over 60 minutes of football.

RED EYE says he's an MVP candidate next year (in the NFL!)

Cant believe someone like Red Eye made a comment like that.

what I said was If he got drafted by Philly he COULD be in the conversation for MVP....lets face it, last night he wasn't surrounded by NFL talent..next man up only goes so far..the playmakers weren't there... lets just see how this thing plays out... maybe the author of this thread can tell us all where Kellen Moore is playing these days..

He should suffer in the draft. Looked over-matched most of the game. Maybe he quit after his guys dropped the first couple big passes. If so.... should take a big fall for that behavior too.

That being said..... heaven help any team ignorant enough to take Winnie high. Any team dumb enough to do that will look pretty damn stupid when he is in trouble with the law every other week.

First thing his agent should do is punch Jimbo in the face.... for letting him get away with so much shit.... and allowing him to keep believing he is entitled in a special way!

ESPN analyst Rene Ingoglia wrote after the game, " Cardale Jones on his way to having the best 3 game career in college football history...imo has more NFL upside then every QB in this draft."

How can Meyer not place Jones on top of the depth chart at QB for next years team. I think they'll have a talk & if Jones thinks
he'll have the inside track at being #1 he'll stay. Otherwise he'll go. If he goes he'll go in the 1st round. What a 3 game career.

'Then the question came: Could you ever be a backup quarterback again?

Three games to make a legend: How Cardale Jones went from misfit to Buckeye great after leading Ohio State to National Championship
"That's a good question," Jones said.
Then there was a pause anticipating Jones to elaborate. That never happened.
Because it's probably hard for Jones to wrap his mind around the idea that he could be headed back to the bench after winning all three games as Ohio State's starter this season and leading the Buckeyes to a national title.
So here's a sobering thought for Ohio State: Jones could be a backup next season, but it may not be as a Buckeye. With his rocket arm, huge 6-foot-6 frame and his powerful running style, Jones has all of a sudden become a very intriguing NFL prospect.
Take this from ESPN college football analyst Rene Ingoglia: "Cardale Jones on his way to having the best 3 game career in college football history. (In my opinion) has more NFL upside then every QB in this draft." '
