Angola wins 84-83 in OT.

It's getting hard to handicap games here in Virginia. I am dealing with earthquakes, wind from the hurricane and fire from the Dismal Swamp. You could say I'm battling EARTH, WIND and FIRE. (LOL)

Well you're doing a hell of a job under those circumstances... Stay safe Dr. T!

Thank you again!

Spain vs. Australia
rot# 732

under 145.5

The Eurobasket 2011 starts next week (August 31) and I would guess that Spain doesn't want to risk injury. These two played yesterday in Murcia, Spain and it ended 68-51 (119 points) and now the two teams travel several hours to Valencia and play again. Spain played last week vs. Slovenia and the two games reached 136 and 134 points.

Spain is loaded with talented players like Pao Gasol, Marc Gasol, Rudy Ferendez, Serge Ibaka, Ivan Calderon, Ricky Rubio, etc. and no one should play more than 24 minutes. I guess the teams could make a high percentage and some backups could score but I like our chances for an under in this friendly between Spain and the Land Down UNDER.

Disappointed in the result as Spain wins 97-58 and it goes over. Spain wanted to keep the home fans happy.

Here is the end to the Cameroon/Angola game yesterday.

On Saturday Angola is -3.5 vs. Nigeria o/u 152.5
Tunisia is -4.5 vs. Ivory Coast. o/u 141.5

Looking over the games. Hope to bounce back. May pass unless I feel strongly about a game on Saturday.

Eurobasket 2011 (all games are on espn3)

Germany vs. Italy
2pm eastern

Germany -4.5
Dirk Nowitzi scored 25 yesterday leading his team to a 91-64 win over Israel. Chris Kaman also played well. Dirk made some nice passes to open teammates and they made some key hoops.

Italy led early but lost to serbia 80-68 in their first game. The Italians only made 2-17 3-pointers. If they can make their 3's today they may upset the Germans but let's go with the hot team with the best player on the court.

Germany -4.5

In the final minutes they switched roles I guess: Kaman carrying Germany to the win.
