Does that go for those in the Bush administration who outed Valerie Plame?

if publication causes unnecessary deaths, I condone the murder of responsible parties.

preferably through execution after being found guilty of treason

it was already determined that there was no crime committed in mentioning her name, that's been put to bed.

something about driving around in a car with a CIA parking sticker should have been a clue to begin with

she was far removed from any covert operations.

If however, she were involved in covert operations and national and / or personal security was put at risk, then yes

Sounds reasonable, especially if we hold members of the U.S. military to the same standard when they cause unneccesary deaths

And for the record, I take no specific stance on the good or bad of what WikiLeaks is presenting.

I do tilt towards increased honesty from those who work for me - in this case the U.S. military who are paid by my (admittedly modest) and my fellow U.S. citizens' tax dollars.

Calling your country out and leaking information shouldnt be looked down upon it is patriotic. We as a public are very much in the dark about what goes on by the people we pay to work for us, that seems apprehensive to me. As long as these documents dont contain any designs or schematics or names names... i dont have a problem with any of it. Maybe wikileaks will be used to gain a tighter noose around the freedom and anonymity that the internet provides. Maybe this has been in the works... as a justification for grabbing more control over really the only free and un filtered news left on the planet. All for the name of security.

Deepthroat hid his identity too. Were his actions not noble in your opinion?

A guy working for a company that posts things on the internet is not the same thing as exposing the President of the United States. The content is not the same thing.

Kind of like killing 10 unarmed medical folks in Afghanistan right? We're fighting a murderous killer that does these sorts of things yet you continue to defend why we shouldn't be doing it. It amazes me.

Oh I've never once said that you and your mates shouldn't be doing security work in foreign countries.

Knock yourselves out. With sufficient initiative, you can probably find "murderous" killers 24/7 worldwide.

I just look forward to when I and my fellow Americans don't have to foot the bill in preference to more important matters here within the USA.

You said: "Publishing these documents is such a noble effort the guy hides his identity."

So apparently the fact that the leaker is hiding his or her identity has nothing to do with your opinion on the matter.
Thanks for admitting that was bullshit.

Terrorists fly into the building and kill 3K plus on our soil and we shouldn't go after them? I think we should just smoke weed all day and own a lawn service. Why not?

The leaker did not hide his identify nimue....the publisher of the website did. I'm really not sure what you're saying other than that.

What are you talking about? Everybody knows the publisher is Julian Assange. On the other hand, nobody has come forward and admitted they sent the contents of the Afghan War Diary to Wikileaks. It helps to be familiar with the information you are posting on, try and keep up.

IMO I think we should just go over there and put them people in jail and take all those papers away from them so they don't hurt our military. This be what I would do.

I know exactly what I'm talking about there smart guy. Assange is the front man. Do you think he acts alone? Well we know that isn't the case. The people helping with encryption of these documents are not revealing their names. That's what I'm talking about. The Army Pvt is going to be charged with this crime and you and I both know it.

Try and keep up.

should that private be charged with treason? i'm not sure who would be comfortable knowing that members of our military are leaking sensitive information that can be used by the enemy, regardless of whether you agree with the war efforts.

That's it in a nutshell. Game, set, match.
