Uh, that VT massacre was 10 years after Columbine and about 30 other school shootings.

You can stop now.

Shit is more common after V tech. Don't bullshit me. It still happened yes but way more common now.

After an investigation, a Virginia special justice declared Cho mentally ill and ordered him to attend treatment; however, because he was not institutionalized, he was still allowed to purchase guns.

Here you go again. The nigga was crazy. Sorry Enfuego. Anymore ridiculous claims you feel like making while sitting on your couch all day?

What makes him crazy? Because he snapped one day? If a guy is fully aware of what he's doing and plans an event, he's not crazy. Certainly a normal person doesn't carry out violence but some people snap and commit murder. It doesn't make them certifiably crazy.

You are getting owned in this thread like always for your pure stupidity. You're just slow.

Given that, would you give up your ability to own an AR to keep that massacre from happening? If no, Why not?

Yeah I would gladly give mine up if you could guarantee it won't happen but you can't. That nutcase in Vegas would have found a way to get them. Drugs are illegal too but it doesn't seem too hard to get them. Go ahead and ban them and I will give mine up. It won't change this shit that is happening.

Anyone caught with an illegal firearm, automatic 10 years no parole. Anyone caught with coke, meth, heroin, 10 years no probation. Quit fucking around.

It's not lame at all. It shows gun control isn't the issue here.

The most important question we never answer is "why." Why did this Cruz kid decide to shoot up his former school a few days ago? Talking about gun control is putting a band aid on an issue. We need to get to the root of the issue. In Switzerland, they have lot's of guns. They don't have school shootings. Why not? It's a cultural issue and if we can answer the "why" then we can begin to fix the problems.

I'm not suggesting gun control is the end all solution in itself but common sense gun control would make it so a kid with his obvious issues would not have had access in the first place. There is no quick fix to the problem but the harder time anybody with issues has getting a gun the better.

And since you all want to keep bringing up Switzerland lets do it. I lived there for 2 years so lets talk it out. The 20-34 yr old males that have guns are concscripted soldiers, doing mandatory service, upon completion they can either buy the gun or return it, only a small fraction keep it and gun ownership is roughly about 25% of the population and going steadily down... but these are well trained experienced gun users. These aren't the average joe buying gun for safety with little to no training with it. People would be far more supportive of guns if every owner had this kind of resume and training behind them. On top of the formal background check, the military service also acts as an extended background check as it weeds out those that shouldn't have access as well the govt is very proactive, it keeps a database of potential risks and does periodic checks on them and keeps them from weapons. It's damn near impossible to keep anyone from guns in the us. They also have strict punishment for crime done with a firearm, if yours is stolen and a crime committed you are responsible so people look after their guns. So with guns is responsibility and regulation.

this probably doesnt apply to the subject matter but was reading about some of the shooters of the past. trying to research and learn and remember the 2 boys in arkansas that were 13 and 11 and shot on their classmates killing 5 people, 1 being at teacher. those boys are both out of jail now and have been for some time. arkansas law says that they had to be when they turned 21. both have had incidents with guns since they have been released, 1 applied for a gun license. just reading about it is incredible how long ago it felt. cant understand how anyone could be free after committing such a crime.

Only one taking a pole is you. Not me.

Demonstrating the ability to plan, obtain weapons and articulate a plan of action are all signs that demonstrate one's ability to think logically and of sound mind when committing a crime. I'm sorry you don't understand this basic concept. These are often things the court considers when determining the outcome of a case.
