Why would the average citizen need to own an AR-15?

the number of shootings wouldnt go down maybe but the number of fatalities at these shootings likely would. you said it yourself that you prefer the AR-15 for home protection and mentioned how quickly you can reload and whatnot. thats the same reason someone would choose that weapon specifically for a mass shooting
What makes you think the number of deaths would drop if handguns are used? Handguns are designed to kill people at close range. I would prefer an AR for home defense over a handgun, but that's mainly because it's much more difficult to wrestle away than a handgun. I'd pick a handgun over a shotgun for home defense due to the higher capacity and ease of reloading.
Given that, would you give up your ability to own an AR to keep that massacre from happening? If no, Why not?
No, if someone is determined to kill people he can find a different method, and ARs have been used multiple times to keep people safe. You've got to look at both sides.
Element of surprise is when you are living life and some psycho starts shooting. Doesn't matter how small the gun is if someone can sit up in a hotel room at a distance and rain down fire at a crowd of people with an AR-15 "sporting rifle".

That is still the element of surprise.

Nobody is ready for any of these things. That's why when people say....oh if he just had a gun he would have stopped this.

The colorado shootings had people with guns in the movie theatre. Even if you think to fire back and not take complete cover.....which most are thinking "run" or take cover....but if they did fire back they are still outmatched by the AR-15
Element of surprise is also when someone who has been sitting in church for an hour pulls out a gun and starts killing people off. Handguns are easier to conceal, so it allows the bad guy to pick his spot.

The Colorado shooting was in a gun free zone, and Holmes went out the back door, propped it open, got his guns and ammo, and went back in and started shooting. If they fire back, one shot could easily have killed him.

Know my facts lmao. Do you know how easy it has been for decades to purchase a gun? So you think everybody runs background checks at gun shows? Hmmm know my facts he says

You're speaking out your ass without knowing the facts which is par for the course for you. A certifiable crazy individual can't purchase firearms. It's already a law. This kid was not certified as crazy.

After an investigation, a Virginia special justice declared Cho mentally ill and ordered him to attend treatment; however, because he was not institutionalized, he was still allowed to purchase guns.

I think Enfuego does everything he can to make up something in his head that I am wrong. Pretty funny. I try to be nice to the guy, ask him how his knee is doing....get nothing

The entire forum pretty much agrees you are the most uniformed poster here. I'm not joking either.

The other day you said it's easier to type on your keyboard in ebonics for fuck's sake.

Nobody has ever purchased a gun at a gun show and gone on a mass or school shooting.

Other than that, your "facts" are like a nuclear hot take.

Nah I'm good. Appreciate the advice but don't think I'll be killing anybody any time soon. Military don't use it because they know the public has access probably. Need to go even stronger to subdue them

Like this comment...what in the holy fuck are you talking about?

The military purchases weapons in bulk based on what the public in the U.S. has access to? WTF is wrong with you? Are you slow?

Serious question, since you don't really know anything about this, why are you offering these "facts"?

Uh, you just said this, genius

Use handguns. I bet you 3-4 people die before dude is tackled to the ground and beaten by fists to the death. So I am sure millions of Americans would take that compared to more massacres. So how does that not help the problem tremendously?

Do you even pay attention to your own posts?

People didn't think shit could happen 10-20 years ago. The preparation now taken is far more superior and appropriate than before.

He was loose for 3 hours. Enough said on that. Authorities dropped the ball. That's clear as day.

And yes he was mentally ill. Enfuego doesn't want to hear it though

Uh, that VT massacre was 10 years after Columbine and about 30 other school shootings.

You can stop now.
