My bad beat story happened a few months ago during the Euro Cup Soccer.
Now I NEVER bet on soccer because I don't know anything about it. But I just happened to be watching some soccer match while I was on-line making some bets and I noticed there was an "in-game soccer line" for the game I was watching live. The game had literally 5 minutes left and the score was 0-2. The line offered was -2500 for the team that was winning and the only way to lose was for the other team to score 2 or more goals in the next 5 minutes. Well, seeing as how they hadn't scored all game and nobody ever seems to score much in soccer anyway, I decided to go for it. For some stupid reason I put 1/3 of my bankroll on it.
You can guess what happened over the next 5 minutes.
hno:
I swear on my life, I'll never bet on another soccer game.
q-leap...that bowl game was i believe the sun bowl vs.n'western...the toatl was like 67 and there were like three returned kicks in the final 5 mins....
Package deal for me. Stupid back in college, betting a little(well a lot more actually) than I should have been.
Loved two pac ten games that day.
First one I am getting 9 or something either on or against AZ. St. ****** goes to overtime and I am counting my money. Not so fast. Found a way to lose. Truly devastating way to lose a game or so I thought.
Doubled my wager on the next one on tilt. Had the late game. Ryan Leaf and Wash St. giving 3 at home against cal. This one was not as easy as the AZ st game but was still up by four late. The decided to take a safety with about 10 seconds or less left in the game to win by just two. Was truly a sick day and was a very sick feeling.
That would be 1996, ASU home v. USC. The year ASU went to the Rose Bowl with Plummer. Game went to double OT and you didn't do it justice. ASU punched one late to tie it then had the KOR returned for a TD only to come back and score again to send it to OT (one may have been on a throwback to Plummer, forget how late in the game that TD was). USC scores first in OT, ASU ties it, goes to second OT, ASU TD, USC gets the ball, has 4th and long, QB gets sacked and is clearly on the ground when he just fumbles the ball forward to keep it alive but refs never call him down, ASU picks it runs 80 the other way for the TD. I was in Mandalay Sports book for that game, people were losing their minds. ASU 48-USC 35. One of the two worst losses I have ever seen, the other being Ventura's Grand Slam "single"
