not sure about whole gambling life, but recent memory, Georgetown crumbling vs Davidson in the tournament, and then Memphis coughing up the title to Kansas was also sickening as I had a good amount on them in futures.

i can't tell u the years but 2 that come to mind rite away were the colo-mich hail-mary game...and a meaningless nba game about 10 years or so ago...sitting in bally's book late at nite and had the over in a sonics game..total blowout and needed a bucket to hit with about 20 secs. to go terry cummings steals the ball and goes in for an uncontested layup an gets rejected by the rim when he goes for the dunk....i vowed if i ever saw him in the streets of new york he would never walk again...it was the end of a stupid 8 team parlay at i think 100-1 odds cuz i put 50 down to get back 5050....F U TERRY "SHORT" CUMMINGS

I know I've told this one on here before...

Falcons-49ers playoff game back in 98 or so. Falcons were -3, and I always buy a half point onto or off of 3 and 7 in football. Had them -2.5 and made the biggest bet of my life because I was convinced the Birds were going to cruise. They did for about 3 quarters and would have been up by more had it not been for a bad call by the officials, then the Niners start creeping back. Down 10 with maybe 5 minutes left, San Fran runs in for a TD. No problem, I thought. I hooked it down to 2.5...I should still be safe here. Except the extra point snap was bobbled, and Jim fucking Druckenmiller picked up the ball, rolled out to his left and found a wide open tight end in the endzone for a 2-pt conversion. Final score: Atlanta 20, Niners 18. I sat there in disbelief for a good 10 mins after the game ended. I'd still punch Fuckenmiller in the face if I saw him today.

Vaguely remember a guy on here posting he had over 9.5 in some baseball game. The score was 5-4 after one inning...and the game finished 5-4.

My bad beat story happened a few months ago during the Euro Cup Soccer.

Now I NEVER bet on soccer because I don't know anything about it. But I just happened to be watching some soccer match while I was on-line making some bets and I noticed there was an "in-game soccer line" for the game I was watching live. The game had literally 5 minutes left and the score was 0-2. The line offered was -2500 for the team that was winning and the only way to lose was for the other team to score 2 or more goals in the next 5 minutes. Well, seeing as how they hadn't scored all game and nobody ever seems to score much in soccer anyway, I decided to go for it. For some stupid reason I put 1/3 of my bankroll on it.

You can guess what happened over the next 5 minutes.

:ohno:

I swear on my life, I'll never bet on another soccer game.

It was Tchek vs Turkey

Me too i lost about 750$ in winnings on this one

I Had a pre-game 400$ bet to Tchek to win the game

Tchek were leading 2-0 with 5 min to go
in soccer, it is like 10-0 in the 9 inning in baseball

of course Turkey scored 3 goals in the last 5minutes to win the game

thanks for reminding me that one:ohno:

The F$U/Florida game in 2003. Also known as the Swindle in the Swamp. It wasn't about the money even though I had UF for a play. It was about the ACC ref, Jack Childress. There were 6 crucial calls that 5 should have gone Floridas way but ALL went F$U way. Replays showed how bad the calls were . Florida still lost in the last minute with F$U hail Mary pass.

If I see Jack Childress in person, I will bust him in the mouth as many times as my fists will let me. If that happens, there will be a bust of my thinning hair head along side the Gator head that everyone rubs going into Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. I will forever live in Gator lore as the man that whacked the scum sucking ACC Ref whore Jack Childress. Damn, I feel better and am ready to go. :103631605:toast:LT

Package deal for me. Stupid back in college, betting a little(well a lot more actually) than I should have been.

Loved two pac ten games that day.

First one I am getting 9 or something either on or against AZ. St. ****** goes to overtime and I am counting my money. Not so fast. Found a way to lose. Truly devastating way to lose a game or so I thought.

Doubled my wager on the next one on tilt. Had the late game. Ryan Leaf and Wash St. giving 3 at home against cal. This one was not as easy as the AZ st game but was still up by four late. The decided to take a safety with about 10 seconds or less left in the game to win by just two. Was truly a sick day and was a very sick feeling.

No doubt, Colts @ Bucs. MNF.

Less than 5 minutes, Tampa was up 35-14.

Tampa was the last leg of several parlays. Enough that I had decided to quit my job and move to Florida (I came to this conclusion during the 3rd qtr, after a few beers).

After Barber's INT return, I drank a few more beers.

Then the comeback. Ouch.

What made it even worse:

1) Tampa had a chance to win in OT. They got the ball, I thought I was going to escape. But they couldn't move the ball, had to settle for a missed 62-yard FG.
2) Indy missed their first FG. But the refs called that absurd leaping penalty. Grrrrrrrrrrr. How do you call *leaping* in overtime? Talk about refs deciding the game.
3) A few hours later, I had to go to work. The job I was going to quit. With a hangover.

Still had a decent bankroll after the Tampa debacle. But then I shit the bed for a few months. Basically, the Colts cursed me.

Hmmmmmm. Who the hell started this thread? Bastard.

That would be 1996, ASU home v. USC. The year ASU went to the Rose Bowl with Plummer. Game went to double OT and you didn't do it justice. ASU punched one late to tie it then had the KOR returned for a TD only to come back and score again to send it to OT (one may have been on a throwback to Plummer, forget how late in the game that TD was). USC scores first in OT, ASU ties it, goes to second OT, ASU TD, USC gets the ball, has 4th and long, QB gets sacked and is clearly on the ground when he just fumbles the ball forward to keep it alive but refs never call him down, ASU picks it runs 80 the other way for the TD. I was in Mandalay Sports book for that game, people were losing their minds. ASU 48-USC 35. One of the two worst losses I have ever seen, the other being Ventura's Grand Slam "single"

That game is the reason why unless I am getting 15 points, I never think a game is over in OT.

I remember wasn't the SC qb Brad Otton, Can't remember for sure.

Had the under in the Denver Nuggets @ Detroit Pistons. You know, the game that Rasheed through a 3/4 court shot up to send the game into overtime thus going over the total.

That game was in my mind for a week straight. Fucking awful.

My brothers were at that game, one went to ASU and the other to USC. They both had $$ on their respective squads and they still talk about it to this day, f'n crazy.
