I really believe that and it has nothing to do with race. The kid had no weapon and the officer shot off a number of bullets. To me, being punched does not constitute a life threatening situation and the use of a gun should be the last option not the first.

Are you just ignoring the portion of the story that doesn't fit your storyline? The part about hem wrestling over the gun and it being pointed towards the officer?

By your logic, he didn't have the right to shoot until already being shot at (which of course would likely have been too late).

i agree Mike Brown wasn't shot because he was black he was shot because he tried to murder a police officer. you try to take a cops gun beat him up then try to charge him to take him down you deserve to be shot

Punching an officer and going for his firearm gives him the right to unload his clip, but Brown thought he was "too much of a pussy" to shoot him. Browns actions led to his own death.
