There is only one measureable demographic within the USA that still polls in favor of cannabis Prohibition and that is White Males aged 64+.

So it should not be surprising that 66 year old CarolinaKid supports leaving the multi-billion dollar per year cannabis industry in the control of street level drug dealers and criminal drug cartels

Good news is that the aforementioned demographic of White Males aged 64+ is also the soonest to die demographic so literally every 12 months another approximately 700,000 white male voters aged 64+ pass on to the next plane.

At the same time that approximately 2,100,000 new voters turn age 18 and we know that voters aged 18-29 support ending marijuana Prohibition by about 80%.

In short, we can easily ignore the old man rantings about The Evil Mary Jane from tired old and uneducated voters like CarolinaKid because his kind are fading away and our kind are taking over.

Peacefully and legally -- nationwide

Both the lovely SheBar and I have already obtained legal medical marijuana access here in Florida so I can now legally possess both here in Florida and also in three of my other four favorite states to visit -- CA, CO and WA

CAROLINA KID has claimed on about a half dozen occasions to have "turned my personal name and address over to the DEA in Florida" but for some shocking reason those claims appear to be Utterly Imaginary.

Stocked up on legal medical goodies before embarking on my latest move to a prohibition state. Won't have to bother with seeking out and conducting business with some street level dealer peddling unregulated product - for at least the next 2 years.

recreational pot in the wrong hands can most certainly be bad for you/families . Medical pot and recreational pot are two different beasts.

recreational pot is used cause the individual is seekign a 'high'. Feel that 'high' and you want to feel it again...and again ....and again. Addiction.

posting the below as it seems some on the board are unclear as to potential dangers of pot abuse (source is reputable webMD);

<section style="box-sizing: inherit; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 21.008px; letter-spacing: -0.273104px;">Your Body on Marijuana

When you smoke pot, THC and other chemicals travel from your bloodstream to your brain. THC causes the feel-good "high."
Here are some of the other effects you'll feel:

 • Trouble thinking and remembering
 • Bloodshot eyes
 • Dry mouth (cotton mouth)
 • Increased appetite (the "munchies")
 • Fast heart rate
 • Slowed coordination

Marijuana Smoke: What's in It?

Marijuana smoke contains about 60 chemicals called cannabinoids. The best-known of these is THC, which also leads to the signs that someone has been smoking pot: the memory loss and random thoughts, as well as the unsteady walk.

Breathing In the Smoke

Marijuana smoke is also filled with many of the same chemicals as tobacco smoke, including ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, and formaldehyde. Some of these chemicals are known to cause cancer. Most users smoke pot in a joint or water pipe, so they breathe the smoke straight into their lungs.
There's no proof that smoking marijuana causes lung cancer like cigarettes do. But people who smoke pot do show signs of damage and precancerous changes in their lungs, especially if they also smoke cigarettes. And a study published in 2013 in Cancer Causes & Control found that heavy marijuana smoking might raise the risk of lung cancer.
Pot smoking leads to other lung effects, too. "We know that patients see their doctor with more symptoms, including cough and wheezing, when they're marijuana smokers," Tetrault says.

Marijuana on the Brain

Could smoking marijuana change the way the brain works? That's what researchers are finding.

 • Brain imaging scans of heavy marijuana smokers have revealed changes in blood flow to parts of the brain involved in memory and attention. Researchers have also noted differences in the size and shape of the thalamus, the part of the brain that's involved in consciousness and information processing.

 • Heavy pot smokers in studies score lower than non-users on tests of memory, attention, and learning. The more they smoked, the worse they did.

 • The effects of smoking pot may be even more pronounced in teenage smokers than adults, because teens' brains are still developing.

 • Regular users are more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, especially when they have a family history of the condition.

Other Health Effects

Marijuana can have effects beyond the lungs and brain. These include:

 • Anxiety
 • Depression
 • Fast heart rate
 • Increased risk of heart attack (within the first hour after smoking)
 • Suicidal thoughts in teens

Is It Addictive?

People who stop smoking pot don't have the same withdrawal symptoms -- like anxiety and sweating -- they'd get if they were addicted to a drug like heroin. Yet those who use marijuana all the time can have a hard time stopping.

The condition of marijuana dependence does exist, studies show. Some long-term, near-daily users seek treatment to quit, yet they keep smoking marijuana, despite its social, psychological, and physical effects. They also mention effects such as relationship and family problems, low energy and self-esteem, memory problems, and low life-satisfaction.
Marijuana can also lead to other addictions¸ especially in people who start smoking at a young age. That's why it's sometimes called a "gateway drug." One study found that young people who smoke marijuana are more likely to abuse other drugs, including prescription opioids, in the future.

Eat It Instead?

Although smoking is the most common way to use marijuana, some people bake it into a brownie or other food. Eating pot might spare you the lung effects of this drug, but that doesn't mean it's safe.
Because it takes a while for your body to digest marijuana, you might not feel the effects very quickly. If you keep eating more to get high, you could overdose. Signs of an overdose include sudden anxiety and panic.
Marijuana hangs out in the body longer when it's eaten than when it's smoked, so you could feel the hangover effects -- like a dry mouth and bloodshot eyes -- well into the next day

............

by placing weed as a medical drug, the implication is its harmless. Anything in excess can be damaging, esp if it affects the CNS.

Its annoying. I know it's legal now. Just can't get used to the smell in the air by those who smoke out in public. I'm in my mid 40's w/ a family now. If I was in my 20's I probably wouldn't care. LOL!

good move......MLK one of many who advise us we have a moral obligation to peacefully disobey unjust laws. So I am always pleased to see those who will peacefully disobey laws which criminalize adult use of cannabis

I hate weed, hate everything about it, from the way it smells, to the effect it has. But if someone wants to put something in their body have at it. There are medical benefits when it comes to pain I guess, if it work for someone that is suffering, then that's good. What gets me, is the people that believe it's good for them, like it's vitamin C. It's not good for you, it's probably unhealthy.

Depends on what you mean by "good for them". Obviously it's not like vitamin C.

But from helping fight Glaucoma to controlling epileptic seizures to helping prevent cancer from spreading to slowing Alzheimer’s to easing multiple sclerosis pain to reducing Hepatitis C side-effects to treating inflammatory bowels to relieving arthritis pain to helping you get through chemo to a lot more, scientific research confirms the effectiveness of marijuana.

Yeah I agree when it comes to medical, the benefits out weigh the negative side effects, by a wide margin.

Would much rather see someone using a form of cannabis as a medicinal remedy or a recreational high than prescription drugs and/or alcohol. Far better for your overall long term health.

Its actually better for you than vitamin C. Our biggest receptor system including our neurotransmitter receptor system is our endocannibinoid system. We have receptors all throughout our body.

Quit the meat and dairy, pick up the herb man.
