MLB | Twins vs White Sox
Play on: White Sox -126 at BMaker

Derek Holland continues to get no respect around the MLB and Vegas despite his 2-0 record and 1.89 ERA in his last 3 starts. I know that the White Sox offense has been pretty streaky this season and they come in losers of 3 in a row, but Holland has been the streak stopper all year and I think they get to Hughes tonight. Hughes just coming in with a very strong 4-1 record despite a 4.32 ERA on the season and I don't think that the Twins offense will be able to bail him out again tonight and Chicago gets the home W.

Orioles vs. Nationals
Total 7½ -105 at 5DIMES

Baltimore is seeing the ball winning their last 6. Nationals are one of the best hitting teams in baseball. Miley starts for the O's and didn't get through one inning last start and his last road start the total went over.

Tigers vs. Diamondbacks
Diamondbacks -132 at BMAKER

10* Free MLB Pick (Diamondbacks -132)

Arizona is worth a look here at home in the series finale of this short 2-game set against the Tigers. Detroit won the opener yesterday behind their ace Justin Verlander 7-3, but now must turn to Matt Boyd, who despite a solid 3.78 ERA overall in 6 starts, has an ugly 5.69 ERA and 2.054 WHIP in 3 road starts. Factor in hitter friendly Chase Field and a Diamondbacks offense that is scoring 6.3 runs/game at home this season and I like Arizona's chances of scoring enough here to leave with a win. It's also worth noting that Boyd is a southpaw. Diamondbacks are 8-2 in their last 10 home games against a left-handed starter and 15-5 in their last 20 interleague home games against a lefty starter. Give me Arizona -132!

GAME: Seattle Mariners (16-17) at Philadelphia Phillies (13-18)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 1:05 PM EST
WHERE: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies haven't been shy about keeping the scoreboard operator busy of late, albeit for different reasons. Seattle has erupted for 42 runs en route to winning five of its last six contests while host Philadelphia has permitted 43 while losing six of seven heading into Wednesday afternoon's finale of the two-game interleague series at Citizens Bank Park.

The clubs combined for 19 runs, 27 hits and five homers in the opener, which saw Seattle rally from a four-run deficit to record its third straight win with a 10-9 triumph. Robinson Cano went deep in the third before exiting in the following inning with a quadriceps injury, likely putting the seven-time All-Star on the sideline for Wednesday's matinee. Aaron Altherr went deep for the second straight game and has four multi-hit performances during his seven-game hitting streak, during which he has three homers, 11 RBIs and seven runs scored. Former Mariner Michael Saunders also went deep to hit safely for the 10th time in 13 contests and is 1-for-4 in his career in a small sample versus Wednesday starter Yovani Gallardo.

TV: 1:05 p.m. ET, MLB Network, ROOT (Seattle), CSN Philadelphia

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners RH Yovani Gallardo (1-3, 4.46 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Zach Eflin (0-0, 2.42)

Gallardo settled for a no-decision on Friday despite allowing one run on four hits in six innings against Texas. The 31-year-old owns a 1-1 mark with a 2.95 ERA in his last three outings, keeping the ball in the yard in each contest to boot. Gallardo has flustered Philadelphia in four career outings, winning all four decisions while posting a 3.08 ERA.

Eflin has worked seven innings without issuing a walk in each of his last three starts, but does not have a decision to show for it despite recording a 2.57 ERA in that stretch. The 23-year-old allowed three runs against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday but kept the ball in the park for the first time since his season debut. Eflin has yet to face Seattle in his young career and has just one start versus an American League club, getting shellacked for nine runs on as many hits with three homers in 2 2/3 innings of an 11-3 rout by Toronto on June 14, 2016.

WALK-OFFS

1. Philadelphia 3B Maikel Franco struck out three times and went 0-for-5 in the opener to extend his hitless stretch to 11 at-bats in the last three games.

2. Seattle SS Jean Segura is 17-for-37 with 11 runs scored during his eight-game hitting streak.

3. The teams were involved in a trade on Tuesday as the Phillies acquired veteran RHP Casey Fien from the Mariners for cash considerations.

Preview: Giants at Mets
GAME: San Francisco Giants (11-23) at New York Mets (16-16)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 1:10 PM EST
WHERE: Citi Field, New York City, New York

Amid another drama-filled day off the field, featuring a mea culpa from suspended pitcher Matt Harvey, the New York Mets are playing some pretty good ball. New York goes for a three-game sweep of the visiting San Francisco Giants on Wednesday afternoon and can move above the .500 mark for the first time since April 19.

Neil Walker delivered a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth in the series opener and sparked a four-run first inning Tuesday with a two-RBI triple as the Mets made it eight wins in 11 games with a 6-1 victory. Partly because of Harvey's suspension, left-hander Tommy Milone was claimed off waivers Sunday and will make his New York debut in the finale of the three-game set. The reeling Giants have dropped five in a row and fell to a major league-worst 11-23 entering the final stop of a nine-game road trip. Buster Posey homered in the first two games of the series for San Francisco, which has managed only nine runs and 23 hits during the five-game skid.

TV: 1:10 p.m. ET, MLB Network, NBC Sports California (San Francisco), SNY (New York)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Matt Cain (2-1, 4.70 ERA) vs. Mets LH Tommy Milone (1-0, 6.43)

Cain's ERA jumped nearly 2 1/2 runs following a horrific outing at Cincinnati, when he was tagged for a career high-tying nine runs on 10 hits and six walks - also matching a career worst. The 32-year-old was a model of consistency in his previous four turns, giving up a combined three runs and six walks. Cain has been tormented by New York's Jose Reyes (10-for-22) and Jay Bruce (8-for-19).

Milone, who split his six appearances with Milwaukee between the rotation and bullpen, was waived after giving up four runs on six hits in a two-inning relief stint on April 29. His best outing came against the reigning World Series champion Chicago Cubs, yielding one run on three hits over five innings. Milone has struggled with the long ball, giving up six in his last four appearances.

WALK-OFFS

1. Mets 1B T.J. Rivera is 10-for-24 with a homer and five doubles in the past six games.

2. The Giants placed RHP and closer Mark Melancon on the disabled list with a mild right pronator strain.

3. The Mets announced on Tuesday that Citi Field will host the 2018 NHL Winter Classic between the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres.

Preview: Braves at Astros
GAME: Atlanta Braves (11-19) at Houston Astros (22-11)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 2:10 PM EST
WHERE: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas

The Houston Astros continue to play solid baseball and look to register their eighth victory in 10 contests when they conclude their two-game series against the visiting Atlanta Braves on Wednesday afternoon. Houston cruised to an easy 8-3 win in the opener to improve to 22-11 - the second-best record in the major leagues behind Baltimore (22-10).

Carlos Correa hit a three-run homer and Carlos Beltran added a solo shot during a five-run first inning Tuesday as the Astros raised their record to 13-6 at home. Josh Reddick launched his 100th career blast for Houston, which has scored eight or more runs in three of its last seven games. The Braves are in free-fall mode as they've been outscored 45-15 during their five-game losing streak. The hot-hitting Matt Kemp went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Atlanta on Tuesday and is 16-for-44 during his 10-game hitting streak.

TV: 2:10 p.m. ET, FSN Southeast (Atlanta), ROOT (Houston)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves LH Jaime Garcia (1-1, 3.99 ERA) vs. Astros RH Joe Musgrove (1-3, 5.40)

Garcia has allowed just two runs over six or more innings in each of his last three official starts. His most recent turn on Thursday was halted by rain in the fourth inning, meaning he could turn out to be a bit fresher because of the decreased workload. The 30-year-old Garcia is 3-6 with a 6.40 ERA in 11 career starts against the Astros and has struggled against Jose Altuve (9-for-19).

Musgrove has lost back-to-back starts and each of his last three decisions. The 24-year-old lasted a season-low four innings against Texas in his last outing as he gave up five runs - four earned - and five hits. Musgrove has posted a 3.04 ERA in 10 career appearances (nine starts) at Minute Maid Park compared to a 6.75 ERA in seven major-league road starts.

WALK-OFFS

1. Houston is averaging 6.2 runs over its last nine games.

2. Beltran also delivered his 544th career double on Tuesday, snapping a tie with Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn for sole possession of 32nd place on the all-time list.

3. Newly acquired INF-OF Danny Santana made his Atlanta debut and was hitless in four at-bats.

Preview: Cubs at Rockies
GAME: Chicago Cubs (17-16) at Colorado Rockies (21-13)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 3:10 PM EST
WHERE: Coors Field, Denver, Colorado

The Chicago Cubs have won five of their six road series in 2017, and they have a chance to add another triumph away from home when they wrap up a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon. The teams split a doubleheader on Tuesday, with each claiming a lopsided victory.

The Cubs snapped a four-game skid with an 8-1 win in Tuesday’s nightcap behind John Lackey's dominant effort and home runs by Javier Baez and Kris Bryant. The Rockies trounced Chicago 10-4 in the opener and have matched the best start in franchise history at 21-13. Lackey’s seven scoreless innings helped the Cubs escape the doubleheader without further taxing a bullpen that was pushed to the limit in an 18-inning loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday night and called upon Dylan Floro for 4 1/3 innings of relief in his major-league debut in the opener. Colorado followed a season-high-tying 15 hits in the first game with just six – all singles – in the nightcap.

TV: 3:10 p.m. ET, CSN Chicago, ROOT (Colorado)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Kyle Hendricks (2-1, 3.51 ERA) vs. Rockies RH German Marquez (0-2, 7.31)

Hendricks’ trademark pinpoint control was a tad off in his first three starts of the season, but he recently has looked more like the pitcher who led the majors in ERA last year. The 27-year-old has allowed two runs in 17 1/3 innings over his last three outings, including 5 1/3 scoreless frames in a no-decision against the Yankees on Friday. Hendricks is 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA in five career starts against the Rockies.

Marquez is winless in three starts this season, and two have been considerably rough. The 22-year-old Venezuelan surrendered a pair of home runs last time out, allowing five runs over six innings in a loss to Arizona. Marquez is 1-2 with a 6.55 ERA in five games (four starts) at Coors Field since making his major-league debut in September.

WALK-OFFS

1. Baez is batting .351 with four homers and nine RBIs over his last nine games.

2. Rockies 1B Mark Reynolds had homered in four straight contests before going 0-for-1 with three walks in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

3. Chicago 2B-OF Ben Zobrist went 0-for-7 in the twinbill, ending his 10-game hitting streak.

Preview: Angels at Athletics
GAME: Los Angeles Angels (17-18) at Oakland Athletics (15-18)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 3:35 PM EST
WHERE: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, California

Albert Pujols has reached base safely in each of his eight games this month, recording at least one hit in seven of them. The slugger hopes to extend his streak and move closer to 600 career home runs when the Los Angeles Angels visit the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday afternoon for the rubber match of their three-game series.

Pujols belted his 596th shot in Tuesday's 7-3 victory, putting him only four swings away from becoming the ninth player in major-league history to reach the milestone. Los Angeles star Mike Trout missed his fourth straight contest Tuesday due to a tight left hamstring but took batting practice prior to the game and hopes to participate in running exercises on Wednesday. Oakland had its streak of three consecutive walk-off victories come to an end as it fell to 3-6 against the Angels this season. Yonder Alonso continues to assault opposing pitchers, as he recorded his second two-homer performance in four games on Tuesday and has registered seven blasts and 13 RBIs in eight contests this month.

TV: 3:35 p.m. ET, FSN West (Los Angeles), NBC Sports California (Oakland)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Jesse Chavez (2-4, 4.46 ERA) vs. Athletics RH Andrew Triggs (4-2, 2.34)

Chavez has worked at least six innings in each of his last three starts but has recorded just one victory in that span. The 33-year-old Californian allowed three runs in a season-high 6 1/3 frames against Houston on Friday but did not factor in the decision. Chavez, who pitched for Oakland from 2012-15, never has started against his former team but is 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in seven relief appearances.

Triggs won his first three starts of the season but has lost two of his last three, surrendering at least five runs in each defeat - both of which came at home. The 28-year-old did not allow an earned run in any of his four victories, including a triumph over Los Angeles in his season debut on April 6 in which he gave up an unearned run over 5 2/3 innings. Triggs faced the Angels twice last year, posting a 1.69 ERA without recording a decision in one start and one relief appearance.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Athletics are expected to activate C Josh Phegley from the concussion list on Thursday.

2. Los Angeles SS Andrelton Simmons was in the starting lineup Tuesday after exiting the series opener with contusions on his right hand and left thumb.

3. Oakland recalled Mark Canha from Triple-A Nashville and designated fellow OF Jaff Decker for assignment.

Preview: Orioles at Nationals
GAME: Baltimore Orioles (22-10) at Washington Nationals (21-12)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: Nationals Park, Washington, District of Columbia

The Baltimore Orioles own the best record in the majors and will carry a six-game winning streak into Wednesday's matchup at the Washington Nationals in the continuation of a four-game, home-and-home Beltway Series. The Orioles won 5-4 in 12 innings Tuesday, scoring twice in the ninth against the Nationals' beleaguered bullpen.

Mark Trumbo's bases-loaded single lifted Baltimore to its third walk-off win this season after Jonathan Schoop delivered an RBI double in the ninth and J.J. Hardy forced extras with a two-out tying single. Adam Jones ended a 13-game homer drought with a solo blast but he is hitless in five at-bats against Stephen Strasburg, who will start for Washington. Strasburg will be looking to halt a three-game slide for the Nationals, who wasted eight stellar innings by Max Scherzer on Tuesday. Washington's bullpen already has blown six saves, including a pair during its three-game losing streak.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, MASN (Washington), MASN2 (Baltimore)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Nationals RH Stephen Strasburg (3-1, 2.66 ERA) vs. Orioles LH Wade Miley (1-1, 2.27)

Strasburg barely had his streak of five consecutive quality starts snapped last time out, but he still overcame four walks to toss 5 2/3 scoreless innings in a win at Philadelphia. The San Diego State product worked seven innings in each of his first five turns but has not received much offensive support, with the Nationals scoring 20 runs in his six starts. Manny Machado is 3-for-3 against Strasburg.

Miley was unable to get through the first inning in his last turn after he was hit with a pair of line drives before he was removed for precautionary reasons. The 30-year-old was winless over his previous three starts despite giving up five runs over 20 innings and he has yielded eight earned runs in his first six outings of the season. Anthony Rendon is 7-for-11 and Ryan Zimmerman 5-for-10 against Miley.

WALK-OFFS

1. Orioles All-Star closer and LHP Zach Britton (forearm strain) is expected to be sidelined for 45 to 60 days.

2. Zimmerman, leading the majors with a .410 average, is 1-for-9 in the series.

3. Jones has 744 RBIs with Baltimore, tying him with Brady Anderson for sixth place on the team's all-time list.

Preview: Indians at Blue Jays
GAME: Cleveland Indians (18-14) at Toronto Blue Jays (12-21)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 7:07 PM EST
WHERE: Rogers Centre, Toronto, Ontario

While Edwin Encarnacion is receiving quite the reception in his return to Rogers Centre, another former member of the Toronto Blue Jays has provided a significant impact on the three-game series. Yan Gomes looks to continue his hot hitting despite uneven playing time on Wednesday when he leads the visiting Cleveland Indians into the rubber match against Blue Jays.

The 29-year-old Gomes, who began his career with Toronto, belted a three-run homer in Tuesday's 6-0 romp to cap his third multi-hit performance in his last five games. The offense was a welcome sight for the American League Central-leading Indians, who have won four of six despite mustering 10 runs in the five games before Tuesday's outburst. The AL East cellar-dwelling Blue Jays were limited to just four hits on Tuesday and fell to 5-9 at home. Veteran left-hander Francisco Liriano has found success at Rogers Centre and takes a 2-1 home mark with a 1.59 ERA in three starts into Wednesday's series finale opposite right-hander Danny Salazar.

TV: 7:07 p.m. ET, SportsTime Ohio (Cleveland), Sportsnet One (Toronto)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Danny Salazar (2-3, 4.28 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH Francisco Liriano (2-2, 4.44)

Salazar has alternated losses and wins over his last five starts, with Friday's effort resulting in a setback as the 27-year-old Dominican lasted just 4 2/3 innings after 98 pitches against Kansas City. He has been taken deep three times in the last two outings after keeping the ball in the park in his previous three trips to the mound. Salazar, who averages a majors-best 13 strikeouts per nine innings, owns a 2-1 mark with a 2.65 ERA and 20 strikeouts in three career starts versus Toronto.

Like his countryman, Liriano also saw his pitch count elevate in short order on Friday as he exited after just 3 2/3 innings of a no-decision against Tampa Bay. The 33-year-old surrendered a pair of homers and a season-high five walks drove up his pitch count. Liriano has struggled with his control, issuing at least four free passes in four of his six outings this season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Toronto OF Jose Bautista is just 1-for-19 with nine strikeouts in his last five games.

2. Cleveland OF Michael Brantley (sprained right ankle) could be available to pinch hit on Wednesday, manager Terry Francona said.

3. Blue Jays ace RHP Aaron Sanchez (blister) tossed 60 pitches in Florida, with manager John Gibbons reportedly considering him as an option to start in a weekend game against Seattle.

Preview: Cardinals at Marlins
GAME: St. Louis Cardinals (18-14) at Miami Marlins (13-19)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Marlins Park, Miami, Florida

St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn has quashed any concerns over how he'd respond after sitting out an entire year due to Tommy John surgery. Lynn has been magnificent since his lone defeat of the season and carries a four-start winning streak into the finale of a three-game series at the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night.

Lynn has never lost to the Marlins in six career appearances (four starts), compiling a 4-0 record and 3.04 ERA against them. St. Louis rallied for four runs in the eighth inning before Dexter Fowler delivered a tiebreaking, pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth as the Cardinals improved to 5-0 on their six-game road trip and won for the eighth straight time away from home. Manager Don Mattingly has spent three innings in the dugout so far in the series, getting ejected in each of the first two games for Miami, which has dropped 11 of its last 14 games to fall a season-worst six games below .500. The pitching has been unable to contain the opposition during the current 1-5 slide, with the Marlins surrendering 39 runs in the five losses.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, ESPN, FSN Midwest (St. Louis), FSN Florida (Miami)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Lance Lynn (4-1, 2.04 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Tom Koehler (1-1, 5.40)

Lynn has permitted only two runs during his winning streak, continuing his oustanding stretch by blanking Atlanta with six innings of four-hit ball last time out. The Ole Miss product has permitted only two runs and 16 hits over 25 innings during the past four turns. Adeiny Hechavarria is 4-for-8 against Lynn, but he left Tuesday's game after tweaking an oblique injury that sidelined him last month.

Koehler gave up three runs for the fourth time in five starts at the New York Mets on Friday, going five innings and settling for a second straight no-decision. He continues to be plagued by the long ball, serving up two more against the Mets to boost his season total to nine in 30 innings spanning six starts. Koehler is 1-3 with a bloated 7.84 ERA in four starts versus the Cardinals.

WALK-OFFS

1. Cardinals OF Tommy Pham, called up when Fowler hurt his shoulder last week, is 9-for-20 with three homers in five games.

2. Marlins LHP Adam Conley, the loser in the series opener, was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday.

3. Cardinals 3B Jedd Gyorko had a two-run single Tuesday, extending his hitting streak to six games.

Preview: Royals at Rays
GAME: Kansas City Royals (12-20) at Tampa Bay Rays (16-19)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida

The Kansas City Royals' struggles on the road are becoming a distant memory as they vie for their third straight win away from home when they continue their four-game series Wednesday against the host Tampa Bay Rays. Kansas City entered the set with a seven-game road losing streak but won the first two contests, including a 12-inning affair on Tuesday.

Mike Moustakas belted a solo homer in the 12th to provide a 7-6 victory for the Royals, who rallied from a three-run deficit and have a chance to clinch their first series win since sweeping a three-game set from the Los Angeles Angels from April 14-16. Tim Beckham and Logan Morrison each drove in a pair of runs as the Rays suffered their third consecutive loss. Morrison homered for the third time in six games for Tampa Bay, which saw every starter in its lineup register at least one hit. Corey Dickerson recorded his second straight multi-hit performance and is 6-for-13 over his last three contests.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, FSN Kansas City, FSN Sun (Tampa Bay)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Jason Hammel (1-3, 5.53 ERA) vs. Rays RH Chris Archer (2-1, 3.57)

Hammel is coming off his best start of the season, which resulted in his first victory in a Kansas City uniform. The 34-year-old native of South Carolina, who signed with the Royals in February, limited Cleveland to one run and three hits over six innings on Friday after lasting only three frames in each of his previous two turns. Hammel, who spent the first three seasons of his career with Tampa Bay, is 2-2 with a 4.26 ERA in six starts against his former team.

Archer registered a season-high 11 strikeouts against Toronto on Friday but did not factor in the decision after allowing three runs in six innings. The 28-year-old from North Carolina, who is winless in his last four turns, yielded just one run over 7 1/3 frames against the Blue Jays on the road in his previous outing but again settled for a no-decision. Archer has yet to defeat Kansas City in his career, going 0-4 with a 5.63 ERA in five starts.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Rays recalled Diego Moreno - who took the loss Tuesday in his first major-league appearance since 2015 with the New York Yankees - from Triple-A Durham, assigned fellow RHP Austin Pruitt to the Bulls and sent SS Matt Duffy (heel) to Single-A Charlotte for a rehab assignment.

2. Kansas City placed LHP Scott Alexander (hamstring) on the 10-day disabled list and went to Triple-A Omaha to recall RHP Jake Junis, who struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief Tuesday to record his first major-league victory.

3. Tampa Bay parted ways with a pair of pitchers Tuesday, trading RHP Bryan Bonnell to Seattle for future considerations while LHP Justin Marks was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Preview: Padres at Rangers
GAME: San Diego Padres (13-21) at Texas Rangers (14-20)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 8:05 PM EST
WHERE: Globe Life Park in Arlington, Arlington, Texas

One day after Texas Rangers manager Jeff Banister talked at length about the frustration that came along with the inability for his team to string at-bats together, his offense answered the bell and then some Tuesday. After splitting a pair of contests in San Diego, the Rangers hope to build upon an impressive run-scoring explosion Wednesday when they host the Padres for the first of two games in Texas.

The Rangers managed only two hits and struck out 13 times against Trevor Cahill and three relievers in Monday's series-opening 5-1 defeat, but they erupted for five first-inning runs, which was more than enough to support A.J. Griffin's four-hitter in Tuesday's 11-0 rout to wrap up a 3-6 road trip. Nomar Mazara, Ryan Rua, Joey Gallo and Robinson Chirinos each drove in at least two runs as every Texas position player scored and all but cleanup hitter Carlos Gomez recorded at least one hit. San Diego has dropped five of six - four of which have been come by a margin of at least six runs - since beginning May with a home victory over Colorado. Cory Spangenberg was one of three Padres to homer Monday and singled twice Tuesday, matching the total of the rest of his teammates in the lopsided affair.

TV: 8:05 p.m. ET, FSN San Diego, FSN Southwest (Texas)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres RH Luis Perdomo (0-0, 4.03 ERA) vs. Rangers RH Yu Darvish (3-2, 2.76)

Perdomo has been the victim of some bad luck over his last two outings in particular, settling for no-decisions despite giving up one earned over six innings on April 28 at San Francisco and again Thursday versus Colorado. The 24-year-old Dominican has yielded only one homer and owns the highest groundball rate in the majors (69 percent) among pitchers who have worked at least 20 innings. Perdomo has struggled mightily against left-handed hitters (.371) entering his first career start versus Texas but has neutralized right-handers (.180).

Darvish continued to have control issues in Friday's no-decision versus Seattle and ranks among the major-league leaders with 21 free passes, but he managed to hold the Mariners to one run on six hits and four walks across seven innings. The three-time All-Star has excelled in interleague play over his career, however, going 7-2 with a 2.09 ERA in 12 starts. One of those strong performances came in a win against the Padres in his only meeting against them as a rookie in 2012, as he allowed two runs and fanned eight over as many frames.

WALK-OFFS

1. Beginning on April 12, Texas is 8-1 in games started by Griffin (4-0) or Darvish (4-1). In all other games over that span, the Rangers are 4-14.

2. Spangenberg is batting .345 during his career-best eight-game hitting streak.

3. Gallo, who had two hits Tuesday to boost his average to .205, ranks second in the American League with 11 homers and 16 of his 23 hits this season have gone for extra bases.

Preview: Twins at White Sox
GAME: Minnesota Twins (16-14) at Chicago White Sox (15-16)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Guaranteed Rate Field, Chicago, Illinois

The Minnesota Twins answered a disastrous weekend stretch in which they surrendered 28 runs over two games to once again keep the bats of the Chicago White Sox under wraps. Winners of eight of their last 12, the Twins vie for a series victory over the White Sox on Wednesday when the American League Central rivals play the second contest of their three-game set at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Kennys Vargas homered for the second straight contest with a two-run shot in Tuesday's 7-2 triumph for Minnesota, which has won four of the seven meetings between the teams while holding Chicago to just 15 runs. The Twins have prospered away from Target Field, beginning their six-game trek with their eighth road win in 12 opportunities. The White Sox have been outscored 21-9 during their four-game losing skid, with their offense mustering just four hits in the series opener. Jose Abreu had a two-out RBI single in the third inning on Tuesday, but is just 3-for-25 in seven games versus Minnesota this season.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FSN North (Minnesota), WGN (Chicago)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Twins RH Phil Hughes (4-1, 4.32 ERA) vs. White Sox LH Derek Holland (3-2, 2.02)

Hughes pitched well enough to record his third straight victory on Friday before settling for a no-decision despite allowing one run on six hits in 6 2/3 innings against Boston. The 30-year-old permitted a solo homer versus the Red Sox, marking the fifth time he's been taken deep in as many starts. Hughes got the better of Holland when the teams met on April 7, with the former yielding one run on five hits in six innings of a 3-1 triumph.

Holland has not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his six starts, although he fell to 2-4 in his career versus the Twins despite pitching six strong innings in the early April encounter. The 30-year-old kept the ball in the park in that outing and has done so in four of six trips to the mound. Holland picked up his second win in his last three starts on Thursday after allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in 6 2/3 innings of an 8-3 romp at Kansas City.

WALK-OFFS

1. Chicago LF Melky Cabrera was hitless in four at-bats in the opener to fall to 2-for-16 in four games versus Minnesota this season.

2. Twins 3B Miguel Sano will return to the lineup after serving a one-game suspension for shoving Detroit C James McCann during a bench-clearing altercation on April 22.

3. White Sox RF Avisail Garcia went 11-for-22 in his first six games versus the Twins before going 0-for-4 on Tuesday.

Preview: Red Sox at Brewers
GAME: Boston Red Sox (17-15) at Milwaukee Brewers (17-16)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Eric Thames' stunning early-season power display has resulted in him surpassing his previous career-best total for home runs. Thames established his new high of 13 in the series opener and looks to continue his torrid start when the Milwaukee Brewers host the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday for the middle contest of their three-game set.

The 30-year-old Thames moved into a tie for the major-league lead in homers when he launched a two-run blast during a five-run first inning as the Brewers outslugged the Red Sox 11-7 on Tuesday. Thames' hot start has come under scrutiny as he went deep just 21 times in two previous major-league campaigns and spent the last three seasons playing in South Korea. Mookie Betts went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs for Boston in the opener and is 7-for-10 with two homers, three doubles and five RBIs over his last two games. The Red Sox, who have scored 35 runs over their last three contests, are 2-2 during a six-game road trip.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, NESN (Boston), FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox RH Kyle Kendrick (0-1, 13.50 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Chase Anderson (2-0, 2.86)

Kendrick suffered the loss in his Boston debut when he gave up six runs and eight hits in four innings against Baltimore on Thursday. The 32-year-old, who owns an 81-82 career record, was one of the worst pitchers in the majors last season, when he went 7-13 with a 6.32 ERA in 27 starts for Colorado. Kendrick is 3-5 with a 4.29 ERA in 11 career appearances (eight starts) against Milwaukee and has experienced difficulties with slugger Ryan Braun (9-for-21, two homers).

Anderson has had three straight no-decisions and given up four runs in each of his last two starts. The 29-year-old lasted a season-low 4 2/3 innings against St. Louis in his last turn, when he allowed four runs and seven hits. Anderson never has faced the Red Sox but handcuffed Hanley Ramirez (1-for-8) when both players were in the National League.

WALK-OFFS

1. Red Sox SS Xander Bogaerts is 17-for-47 during his 12-game hitting streak.

2. Braun (back/arm) went 1-for-4 with a double on Tuesday in his first start of the month.

3. Boston LHP David Price tossed a four-inning, 60-pitch simulated game on Tuesday and could start a minor-league rehab stint on Sunday.

Preview: Tigers at Diamondbacks
GAME: Detroit Tigers (16-15) at Arizona Diamondbacks (18-16)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 9:40 PM EST
WHERE: Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona

Justin Upton reminded his former employers of his prodigious power in the series opener and looks to help the Detroit Tigers complete a two-game sweep when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Upton slugged a 448-foot homer over the wall in center field in the opener as the Tigers registered a 7-3 triumph.

The homer was the 72nd Upton has hit at Chase Field, the majority of them coming when he played for the Diamondbacks from 2007-12. James McCann, who is batting just .157, also went deep for the Tigers and is the club's surprise home-run leader as he has recorded just 11 total hits while going deep seven times. Slumping Arizona has dropped three straight games and seven of its last 10. The Diamondbacks have been outscored 21-6 during the skid, with Tuesday's defeat coming in the opener of a nine-game homestand.

TV: 9:40 p.m. ET, FSN Detroit, FSN Arizona

PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers LH Matthew Boyd (2-2, 3.78 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Zack Godley (0-0, 3.60)

Boyd pitched a season-high 7 2/3 innings in his last turn, giving up three runs and five hits in a loss to Cleveland. He worked seven frames against the Chicago White Sox in his previous outing, when allowed three runs and seven hits. The 26-year-old Boyd has served up just three homers in 33 1/3 innings this season after giving up 17 in 97 1/3 frames last year.

Godley will be recalled from Triple-A Reno to make his second major-league start of the season. He settled for a no-decision against San Diego on April 26, when he allowed two runs and four hits in five innings. The 27-year-old Godley struggles at Chase Field as he is 5-3 with a 6.44 ERA in 18 career appearances (10 starts).

WALK-OFFS

1. Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler (hamstring) could be cleared to return after missing four consecutive games.

2. Arizona LHP T.J. McFarland (leg) was hit by a line drive during Tuesday's game, and his availability for the series finale is unclear.

3. Detroit RHP Francisco Rodriguez (four blown saves) has lost his closer's job to LHP Justin Wilson, according to MGR Brad Ausmus.

Preview: Pirates at Dodgers
GAME: Pittsburgh Pirates (14-19) at Los Angeles Dodgers (19-14)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, May 10 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California

Los Angeles catcher Yasmani Grandal is heating up along with the Dodgers, who have won four in a row and nine of their last 11. The 28-year-old catcher looks to continue his resurgence Wednesday as the Dodgers aim for a three-game sweep of the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates, who have lost three straight and are quickly falling behind the pack in the National League Central.

Grandal has struggled this season and has just 11 walks in 94 at-bats, but he’s 6-for-15 with a home run and five RBIs over his last three games, including a two-run blast in Tuesday’s 4-3, 10-inning victory. Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen worked a scoreless inning for the win and has struck out 22 of his last 33 batters faced. The Pirates made news prior to the game by moving Andrew McCutchen back to center field and Gregory Polanco to right field, at least until suspended starter Starling Marte returns in mid-July. Rookie Chris Bostick got the start in left field on Tuesday, and manager Clint Hurdle said he expects to use Bostick along with a combination of Josh Harrison, Jose Osuna, John Jaso and Adam Frazier in left moving forward.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, ROOT (Pittsburgh), SportsNet LA (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Chad Kuhl (1-2, 5.54 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Kenta Maeda (2-2, 5.81)

Kuhl pitched three scoreless innings last Friday against Milwaukee but did not return following a lengthy rain delay. The 24-year-old has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his six outings and has gone 0-1 with a 2.76 ERA in three road starts. Grandal is 0-for-5 with four strikeouts against Kuhl, who went 2-0 with a 4.09 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers last season.

Maeda allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits over five-plus innings against San Diego last Friday and has lowered his ERA from 8.05 to 5.81 with back-to-back strong outings. The 29-year-old is hoping that he’s turned a corner after giving up 17 runs in his first four starts covering 19 innings. Maeda struggled in his only previous start against the Pirates, allowing four runs over five frames in a 6-1 loss at PNC Park on June 25, 2016.

WALK-OFFS

1. Dodgers OF Andrew Toles exited Tuesday’s game with a knee injury and will have an MRI exam on Wednesday.

2. McCutchen has hit safely in eight of his last nine games at Dodger Stadium.

3. Los Angeles LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (hip) will return from the disabled list to start Thursday’s game against Colorado.
