He will need solitary confinement

More likely protective custody ("Punk City") in some lockup outside Minnesota.

Often, these high-profile convicts go to a federal prison, rather than a state one, when
they're convicted in cases like these.

You mean good and free healthcare, laptops and phones, and pretty good food. Not too shabby...

Finally a dirty cop off the department. Chauvin will die in jail. Justice served.

Oh, you've heard the sentencing already? Funny, it won't happen for weeks.

That's quite a crystal ball you have there!

The prosecution has requested enhanced sentencing; the usual penalty for 2nd degree
is 12 years. Chauvin will likely get more, but a life sentence is a long shot.

This is a very bad precedent set.
Whatever you may think NO FUCKING WAY it was murder.
This was all about appeasing certain people
And they got their wish
If you think it stops here and we "get back to life" think again
There is a reason you do not negotiate with terrorists
Little dramatic man!?

Intentional murder? Maybe not. I really don’t care he knelt on a handcuffed man until he died.
the rest is just talking points, he deserves to go to jail for a long time.

Hes 45. He can serve up to 40 years for 2nd degree. Most likely he'll never inhale free air again.

assuming the verdict isn’t overturned on appeal. He probably gets 15-20 if it stands.

It’s going to be a lengthy appeal process because of external factors. Waters didn’t help

I was surprised to learn he wasn't even charged with 1st degree murder, which is what I thought would have been a mistake to begin with. Second degree murder? No problem with that. Manslaughter? An absolute certainty

Mostly agree, still it was a kangaroo court though. Sets bad precedent for future if they can just intimidate their way to a guilty verdict.

In a related story, the same Congress that criminally impeached Trump for a lie refuses to even censure Auntie Maxie for her hateful, race baiting speech that ACTUALLY ENCOURAGED VIOLENCE, AGAIN

They're out of control, they're not leaders, they're not honest, they are the scum of this earth. May they rot in hell

Will be interesting to see how the appeals process addresses the external factors in this case.

Just from examining the actual trial and facts presented, this felt like it would be a hung jury or acquittal on murder and probably guilty on manslaughter

Meanwhile, the guy who shot and killed an unarmed woman climbing through a window who was surrounded by security doesn't get charged with anything.

Judge blocked evidence that Floyd had pulled the same I can't breathe bullshit when he wasn't bring touched in a prior arrest. This was manslaughter. Floyd was a piece of shit. Good riddance. Pulled an armed robbery by putting a gun in the stomach of a pregnant woman. Fuck him and his family.
