Bush was still the President, and much like Obama, Putin could not be concerned less with what ANY US President said/says about what he considers Russian affairs. To make excuses and say it's "totally different" for Bush's bold words- no action, but to hammer Obama for his identical bold words-no action shows how NON Independent you are.

You are beginning to become farther and farther left. So funny. I am independent and I am embarrased by the POTUS and the postion he has put us in with Ukraine. I do remember him tellilng Putin on camera that he would be more flexible after he gets re-elected. Is this what he meant.

You are NOT an Independent. You are very, very far right. A true independent would care about connecting the dots on everyone, not just one side.
The situation Obama has put us in is the same as Bush Put us in with Georgia. Except there were actual shots fired that time. So far, none here yet, and hopefully that continues. Hopefully Obama also does what Bush did that time. Absolutely Nothing but talk. Russia doesn't care what our President, whoever it is, tells them to do, in what they consider internal affairs. Were you embarrassed with Bush's handling of the Georgia invasion?
Your memory is wrong. Obama NEVER stated that to Putin.

Unless there is some sort of genocide going on, we should stick our nose in our own business, and worry about the invasion on our own soil first.

I was responding to you on the issue of why we don't show the world dead pictures of OBL. What you said above, while I can't wholeheartedly agree or disagree, had little to do with that. I agree the US is in a tough spot. And you go to war to win decisively. Yep. Also I'm sure you agree our president is weak.

I obviously didn’t get your point, although I thought I did.

I’m not so sure Obama is weak, just incompetent. I don’t see why he can’t use his pen and phone to solve this situation.

I guess you don't understand what the word Objectivity means? Fox News has none, so why would Kerry waste his time there, when there are other news organization that actually strive to be fair? The idiots on Fox(and Wallace is better than most there, but still isn't close to objective or a newsman) would be wasting his time asking about Benghazi or other such irrelevant nonsense.
And of Course the Obama administration isn't objective about their objectives. :think2:

I love quoting Twain.

"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

I have a strong suspicion the toddler from Mombasa privately gave Putin the go ahead on Ukraine and now he's just feigning outrage for the Kool Aid drinkers.

Where are Richard Nixon & Kissinger when the USA really needs the greatest foreign policy tandem of recent memory. Instead the US
has to rely on the likes of Kerry & BO.

Ask Putin if Obama is weak or incompetent and his answer will be, "What difference does it make?"

Right now Putin is stroking his chin, "Stop here? Or rest of Ukraine? Hmm, maybe Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Rumania?"
What WILL stop Putin? Maybe his rich Russian cronies who are currently getting their ball$ stretched in the US Stock Market.

will there be some sort of consequences for their grave mistake? or was Obama simply saying "god ain't going to be happy"

Well it's like Dave in the voting booth right now. They gotta pick Obama over Putin.
We have options. The decision is Obama's. I'm hoping for once in his life he makes a decision that shows Putin that conquering territories under the guise that some people still speak Russian there will hurt him. But like you Willie I have no faith in Obama. I just hope he somehow surprises me in a good way.
