Preview: Rays at Marlins
GAME: Tampa Bay Rays (13-14) at Miami Marlins (11-13)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 7:10 PM EST
WHERE: Marlins Park, Miami, Florida

The Miami Marlins failed to feed off the momentum of a season-high offensive explosion before returning to their lackluster ways in the opener of the four-game, two-city series with the Tampa Bay Rays. The reeling Marlins look to avoid their sixth loss in seven contests on Tuesday when the Sunshine State rivals conclude the first leg of their set in Miami.

Marcell Ozuna homered in the 4-2 setback on Monday, one day removed from collecting three of the Marlins' season-high 15 hits in a 10-3 rout of Pittsburgh. The 26-year-old Dominican has feasted on the Rays by going 10-for-20 since last season - with one hit in two at-bats versus Tuesday starter Alex Cobb. Tampa Bay is slowly getting its act together on the road, improving to 3-4 on its eight-game road trip after limping to a 1-7 mark in its previous eight contests away from Tropicana Field. Tim Beckham had a two-run double in the series opener to give him hits in nine of his last 10 outings overall while improving to 5-for-19 with a homer and five RBIs in his career in Miami.

TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, FSN Florida

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rays RH Alex Cobb (1-2, 4.66 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Edinson Volquez (0-3, 4.44)

Cobb saw his winless stretch extend to four starts on Wednesday despite allowing three runs in five innings at Baltimore. The 29-year-old kept the ball in the park for the first time in a start this season, after surrendering five homers in his previous four turns. Cobb has limited experience against the majority of the Marlins' roster - save for Ichiro Suzuki, who is batting just .130 in 23 career at-bats versus the hurler.

Volquez vies for a better start out of the blocks as the 33-year-old Dominican has permitted five first-inning runs in his five starts. Better control would also help as he suffered his second loss in as many trips to the mound on Thursday after issuing four walks for the third straight time in a 3-2 setback to Philadelphia. Volquez owns a 3-1 career mark versus Tampa Bay and has struggled against Corey Dickerson (.300), Kevin Kiermaier (.300) and Evan Longoria (.294), although Kiermaier is mired in a 1-for-33 stretch with 13 strikeouts in his last nine games.

WALK-OFFS

1. Miami OF Giancarlo Stanton is 0-for-10 with six strikeouts in his last three games.

2. Longoria, who sat out the series opener, told the Tampa Bay Times that he hopes to play Tuesday as he deals with an ailing left foot.

3. Marlins 2B Dee Gordon is 5-for-7 with three runs scored in his last two games.

Preview: Mets at Braves
GAME: New York Mets (11-14) at Atlanta Braves (10-14)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 7:35 PM EST
WHERE: SunTrust Park, Cumberland, Georgia

In a season where so much has gone wrong for the New York Mets, batting Michael Conforto in the leadoff spot has turned out well more often than not. The Mets play the second contest of a four-game series against the host Atlanta Braves on Tuesday - one night after Conforto blasted a leadoff homer - his sixth in 10 starts in that spot - en route to a three-RBI night that helped power his team to its third win in four games.

The news for New York earlier Monday was far from good, as ace Noah Syndergaard was placed on the disabled list with a partially torn right lat muscle, but the club made the most of its eight hits for a 7-5 triumph - just its fourth in 15 games. Atlanta won four of five entering the start of its seven-game homestand, but ace Julio Teheran was tagged for six runs in six innings. Matt Kemp finished with three hits and is batting .361 with four homers and 12 RBIs in his last eight games. The Braves dropped to 4-4 at the new SunTrust Park, where they will be for 15 of their next 22 games after playing 16 of their first 23 on the road.

TV: 7:35 p.m. ET, SNY (New York), FSN Southeast (Atlanta)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Matt Harvey (2-1, 4.25 ERA) vs. Braves RH R.A. Dickey (2-2, 3.80)

Pressed into service after Syndergaard was scratched Thursday, Harvey tied career marks for most walks (five) and fewest strikeouts (one) while allowing six runs over 4 1/3 innings in losing to the Braves. Harvey, who said afterward he was not physically ready to make the start, gave up two runs in 6 2/3 frames to beat Atlanta on April 6 in New York. The 28-year-old has served up six homers in 29 2/3 innings after giving up only eight in 92 2/3 frames last year.

Dickey pronounced himself ready to go after tweaking his left quadriceps while running the bases in a victory against the Mets on Thursday, when he gave up three runs - two earned - and five hits in five innings before leaving the game. After a rough Atlanta debut in a loss at Pittsburgh on April 8, the 42-year-old knuckleballer has posted a 3.50 ERA with 12 strikeouts and a .227 opponents' batting average over his next three starts. Dickey is 3-0 lifetime against the Mets in four appearances, including a victory in 2015 while with Toronto.

WALK-OFFS

1. Atlanta 2B Brandon Phillips went 0-for-4 on Monday, ending his hitting streak at 13 games.

2. New York 3B Jose Reyes is batting .400 with three homers during his current five-game hitting streak after starting the season 6-for-63.

3. Braves CF Ender Inciarte hit his fifth homer of the season Monday, moving within one of his career high set in 132 games with Arizona in 2015.

Preview: Phillies at Cubs
GAME: Philadelphia Phillies (12-12) at Chicago Cubs (13-12)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 8:05 PM EST
WHERE: Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois

After matching a season high for home runs and snapping a three-game skid in the series opener, the Philadelphia Phillies hope the friendly confines of Wrigley Field remain as welcoming when they continue their three-game series against the host Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. Philadelphia belted three home runs in a 10-2 triumph in Monday’s opener, recording its second-highest run output of the season.

The Cubs have dropped four of their last five, and the 10 runs allowed on Monday were a season high, although three relievers combined to allow just three over 7 2/3 innings. Chicago dropped to 4-6 at Wrigley Field, where it went 57-24 a year ago. The Phillies look to remain unbeaten when Jeremy Hellickson starts, while Chicago's Jon Lester aims to continue his dominance over Philadelphia – he is 6-0 with a 1.46 ERA in eight career meetings. Lester will be happy to return to Wrigley Field, where he has posted a 0.69 ERA in two starts this season compared with a 6.06 mark on the road.

TV: 8:05 p.m. ET, CSN Philadelphia, CSN Chicago

PITCHING MATCHUP: Phillies RH Jeremy Hellickson (4-0, 1.80 ERA) vs. Cubs LH Jon Lester (0-1, 3.68)

Hellickson has not allowed more than two runs in any of his five outings and has recorded three straight quality starts. The 30-year-old hasn’t missed many bats – he has recorded just 11 strikeouts in 30 innings – but he scattered seven hits over six frames while limiting Miami to one run last time out. Hellickson has faced the Cubs only once, allowing three runs over 6 2/3 innings in a win in 2015.

After three solid outings to start the season, Lester has allowed five runs in each of his last two starts. The 33-year-old gave up 10 hits, including a pair of home runs, in 5 2/3 innings of a loss at Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Lester won both of his starts against the Phillies last season, allowing two runs - one earned - over 14 1/3 frames.

WALK-OFFS

1. Phillies SS Freddy Galvis is 17-for-50 during a 13-game hitting streak but 3-for-14 with five strikeouts versus Lester.

2. Cubs 3B Kris Bryant went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts on Monday, ending his 11-game hitting streak.

3. Chicago has homered in five straight games and 11 of its last 12.

Preview: Athletics at Twins
GAME: Oakland Athletics (11-14) at Minnesota Twins (12-11)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Minnesota Twins are heading home with some confidence after pulling off a 4-1 road trip behind the big bat of 23-year-old slugger Miguel Sano. The Twins, who are just 5-7 at home, will try to carry that momentum into a six-game homestand that begins when the Oakland Athletics visit on Tuesday.

Sano is one of several young players the Minnesota front office was hoping would have a breakout season, and the Dominican slugger is doing just that while ending April on an 11-for-17 tear with three home runs and 11 RBIs over the last four games. "He had a heck of a trip," Minnesota manager Paul Molitor told reporters of Sano. "I don't know how many hits or RBI, but they are piling up. He has been a big force for us." Trying to stop that force for the Athletics on Tuesday will be right-hander Sonny Gray, who is making his season debut after sitting out the first month with a back injury. Gray returns to an Oakland squad that is averaging 2.3 runs while going 1-6 in its last seven games and is set to face Twins ace Ervin Santana.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, NBC Sports California (Oakland), FSN North (Minnesota)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Athletics RH Sonny Gray (2016: 5-11, 5.69 ERA) vs. Twins RH Ervin Santana (4-0, 0.77)

Gray was a Cy Young candidate in 2015, when he went 14-7 with a 2.73 ERA, but he never managed to get on track in 2016 and made just 22 starts while battling injuries. The Vanderbilt product seemed healthy in two rehab starts, totaling three hits allowed, no walks and 13 strikeouts over 11 scoreless innings across two levels. Gray is 2-2 with a 4.91 ERA in four career starts against Minnesota but held Sano hitless in four career at-bats.

Santana is a Cy Young candidate early in 2017 while leading the majors in ERA, and he allowed a total of three runs and 13 hits across 35 innings in April. The 34-year-old followed up a one-hit shutout of the Chicago White Sox on April 15 with two more dominant performances and held the Texas Rangers to one run over seven innings in a win on Tuesday. Santana went 1-1 in two starts against Oakland last season while posting a 1.69 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 16 total innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. Twins closer Brandon Kintzler allowed his first run in 11 appearances this season on Sunday but still converted his seventh save.

2. Oakland 3B Trevor Plouffe, who spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Twins, is making his first trip back and is batting .207.

3. Sano's seven home runs in April were the most for Minnesota since Torii Hunter slugged nine in 2002.

Preview: Rangers at Astros
GAME: Texas Rangers (11-15) at Houston Astros (17-9)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas

The Houston Astros are dominating all their division rivals and look to continue their early-season success when they host the Texas Rangers for the second contest of their four-game series. The Astros registered a 6-2 victory in Monday's opener to improve to 13-4 against their American League West foes.

Houston is a stout 10-5 at home, including a 3-1 mark on its current seven-game homestand. The Astros used a five-run seventh inning to rally for a triumph in the series opener, which was a tension-filled contest in which the benches cleared after both teams had players nearly hit by pitches. The Rangers, who opened a nine-game road trip on Monday, have dropped five of their last seven overall contests. Texas' Mike Napoli went 2-for-4 with a homer in the opener after going 7-for-58 over his previous 16 contests.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, FSN Southwest (Texas), ROOT (Houston)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rangers LH Cole Hamels (2-0, 3.03 ERA) vs. Astros RH Mike Fiers (0-1, 5.12)

Hamels has won consecutive starts, giving up four runs and 10 hits in 14 2/3 innings. The 33-year-old has struck out only 15 batters in 32 2/3 frames after fanning 200 in 200 2/3 innings last season. Hamels is 6-3 with a 4.06 ERA in 14 career starts against the Astros and has shut down Carlos Correa (1-for-13) while struggling against Brian McCann (17-for-61, three homers, 15 RBIs).

Fiers has not surpassed five innings in any of his last three outings. The 31-year-old has served up eight homers in just 19 1/3 innings - continuing the trend from last season, when he gave up a career-high 26 blasts. Fiers is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in three career appearances (two starts) against Texas and has experienced difficulties with Rougned Odor (3-for-9, one homer, one triple, four RBIs).

WALK-OFFS

1. Astros 2B Jose Altuve is 5-for-10 over his last three games.

2. Odor was hitless in four at-bats in the series opener and is just 2-for-16 over his last four contests.

3. Houston activated Jake Marisnick from the 7-day concussion list and assigned fellow OF Tony Kemp to Triple-A Fresno.

Preview: White Sox at Royals
GAME: Chicago White Sox (13-11) at Kansas City Royals (8-16)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 8:15 PM EST
WHERE: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri

The Kansas City Royals ended their nine-game slide in the series opener and look to maintain their homefield dominance of the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, when the teams meet for the second contest of their four-game set. Kansas City posted a 6-1 win on Monday for its first overall victory since April 19 and 18th in its last 24 home games against Chicago.

The Royals were outscored 54-22 during their skid but received two-run homers from Jorge Bonifacio and Eric Hosmer while defeating the White Sox for the first time in four meetings this season. Kansas City ranks last in the majors with 69 runs scored and has only four regulars batting above .200. Chicago has been outscored 13-4 while dropping back-to-back games after rattling off six consecutive victories. Jose Abreu was hitless in four at-bats for the White Sox in the opener after a 12-for-22 stretch during which he produced six straight two-hit performances.

TV: 8:15 p.m. ET, WGN (Chicago), FSN Kansas City

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH Jose Quintana (1-4, 5.22 ERA) vs. Royals LH Danny Duffy (2-1, 2.81)

Quintana lost his first four starts before dominating Kansas City in his last turn, striking out a season-high 10 and giving up two runs - one earned - and five hits in six innings. The victory was just the second in 11 career decisions against the Royals for the 28-year-old, who has a 4.27 ERA in 23 career starts versus Kansas City. Quintana has struggled with Salvador Perez (19-for-60, two homers) while experiencing success against Hosmer (12-for-65, two homers).

Duffy opened the season with four consecutive strong efforts before the White Sox torched him for six runs and nine hits over 4 2/3 innings on April 26. The 28-year-old had allowed just four runs and 18 hits prior to losing for just the third time in his last 26 starts dating back to last June. Duffy is 6-3 with a 3.67 ERA in 17 career appearances (15 starts) against the White Sox but has experienced issues with Abreu (12-for-34, one homer).

WALK-OFFS

1. White Sox RF Avisail Garcia (groin), who leads the American League with a .368 average, was held out of the series opener.

2. Hosmer is 7-for-20 during a five-game hitting streak to raise his average 34 points to .226

3. Chicago 3B Matt Davidson is 0-for-15 over his last five games after going hitless in four at-bats in the opener.

Preview: Brewers at Cardinals
GAME: Milwaukee Brewers (14-13) at St. Louis Cardinals (12-13)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 8:15 PM EST
WHERE: Busch Stadium, St. Louis, Missouri

Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta's 4-1 record suggests he's off to a solid start this season, although his 5.19 ERA and 1.50 WHIP leave a bit to be desired. After allowing four solo homers in his last outing, Peralta looks to keep the ball in the park at Busch Stadium on Tuesday in the second contest of a four-game series against a team that traditionally has given him trouble over the years in the St. Louis Cardinals.

St. Louis launched four solo homers in the series opener but fell victim to a pair of blasts by Milwaukee, which upped its major league-best total to 47 after Travis Shaw's three-run shot in the 10th inning gave it a 7-5 victory. Jonathan Villar launched a two-run homer and joins Shaw in enjoying success versus struggling Tuesday starter Carlos Martinez, with the former batting .375 in 16 plate appearances while the latter has taken the right-hander deep in one of his three career at-bats. Milwaukee has erupted for 51 runs while winning five of its last seven, but St. Louis has dropped two in a row on the heels of emerging victorious in nine of its previous 11. Jedd Gyorko belted a pair of homers to highlight his four-hit performance in the series opener and also has gone deep while batting .417 in 12 career plate appearances versus Peralta.

TV: 8:15 p.m. ET, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee), FSN Midwest (St. Louis)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Wily Peralta (4-1, 5.19 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Carlos Martinez (0-3, 4.71)

Peralta overcame the all-too-frequent homers and eight total hits in five innings to pick up the win in a 9-4 triumph over Cincinnati on Wednesday. The 27-year-old Dominican has allowed 10 earned runs and 17 hits in his last two outings after permitting five and 11, respectively, during a three-game winning streak. Peralta owns a 4-11 career record and 5.10 ERA versus the Cardinals and was shellacked for six runs and nine hits in four innings on April 21 in a 6-3 setback at Miller Park.

Martinez saw his losing streak reach three starts on April 20 after yielding five runs and seven hits in five innings of a 7-5 setback to Milwaukee. The 25-year-old Dominican surrendered two homers in that contest and also was taken deep on Thursday but walked away with a no-decision against Toronto after allowing three runs and five hits in six innings. Martinez struck out eight in that contest and 26 over his last three starts but still is looking for his first win of the season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Milwaukee RF Domingo Santana is 5-for-11 with three homers, seven RBIs and four runs scored in his last four games.

2. Cardinals OF Dexter Fowler is 1-for-15 with seven strikeouts versus the Brewers this season.

3. Milwaukee owns a 7-3 mark on the road as opposed to 7-10 at Miller Park.

Preview: Rockies at Padres
GAME: Colorado Rockies (16-10) at San Diego Padres (11-16)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Petco Park, San Diego, California

The Colorado Rockies finished up April in first place in the National League West and earned at least one series win over every other team in the division except the San Diego Padres. The Rockies will get a chance to fix that small glitch when they visit the Padres for the opener of a three-game series on Tuesday.

Colorado took two of three in Arizona over the weekend to begin the six-game trip but left with a bitter taste after a 2-0 loss in 13 innings on Sunday. The positive coming out of the loss was that it marked the season debut of Ian Desmond, who signed a five-year, $70 million deal in the offseason to be the Rockies' first baseman but fractured his hand in spring training and instead played left field on Sunday. Desmond is 2-for-10 with two RBIs and two strikeouts in his career against Trevor Cahill, who will get the start for the Padres on Tuesday. Colorado will counter with righty Tyler Chatwood, who will be going up against a San Diego offense that bashed a pair of clutch home runs late on Sunday and pushed across a total of 17 runs in back-to-back wins over the weekend at San Francisco.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, ROOT (Colorado), FSN San Diego

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rockies RH Tyler Chatwood (2-3, 4.88 ERA) vs. Padres RH Trevor Cahill (1-2, 4.50)

Chatwood tossed a two-hit shutout at San Francisco on April 15 but has not been nearly as sharp over his next two outings. The California native got enough help from his offense to pull out a win on April 21 but absorbed the loss while yielding five runs on eight hits - two home runs - in five innings against Washington on Wednesday. Chatwood has enjoyed some success against San Diego in his career, posting a 4-1 record with a 4.50 ERA in 10 career appearances - eight starts.

Cahill is struggling to find consistency as he returns to work as a full-time starter for the first time since 2014 and followed up his best start of the young season with his worst in the last two outings. The 29-year-old scattered one run and three hits over seven innings in a win over Miami on April 21 but was rocked for five runs on nine hits and four walks in 5 2/3 frames at Arizona on Wednesday. Cahill is 5-6 with a 4.44 ERA in 16 career games - 11 starts - against the Rockies.

WALK-OFFS

1. Padres 1B Wil Myers went 7-for-10 with a home run, two triples, two doubles and four RBIs at Colorado from April 10-12.

2. Colorado RHP Jordan Lyles allowed a total of eight runs on 11 hits - three home runs - and three walks over 4 1/3 innings in his last three appearances.

3. San Diego rookie RF Hunter Renfroe is 0-for-13 with seven strikeouts in his last three games.

Preview: Angels at Mariners
GAME: Los Angeles Angels (14-13) at Seattle Mariners (11-15)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington

Every team goes through its fair share of peaks and valleys over the course of a major-league baseball season, but the Los Angeles Angels did their best to pack it all into the first month of the season. After a rollercoaster April, the Angels hope to continue their recent success following their first off-day in three weeks Tuesday when they visit the American League West rival Seattle Mariners for the opener of a three-game set.

Los Angeles used a sweep of Seattle from April 7-9 to open the season 6-2 - its best eight-game start in 43 years - before dropping 10 of 12 to quickly go from division leader to 5 1/2 games behind Houston in the West. The Angels got back on track last week, sweeping Oakland at home and winning two of three in Texas over the weekend to cap off a 6-1 stretch to end last month. Los Angeles' recent run figures to get its stiffest test Tuesday, however, as Seattle's James Paxton has held the opposition scoreless in four of his first five outings. The Mariners capped a mostly forgettable first month of the season Sunday by wrapping up a 4-6 road trip through Oakland, Detroit and Cleveland with a 12-4 loss to the Indians.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, FSN West (Los Angeles), ROOT (Seattle)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Matt Shoemaker (1-1, 4.73 ERA) vs. Mariners LH James Paxton (3-0, 1.39)

Shoemaker notched his first victory of the season Wednesday versus the Athletics, allowing two runs on seven hits and a pair of walks over five innings. The Eastern Michigan product did not give up a homer for the first time in 2017 in that outing, has struck out 20 in 17 1/3 innings over his last three appearances and permitted two runs or fewer four times, but he has managed only one quality start. Shoemaker's worst effort of the season came against Seattle on April 9, when he was tagged for seven runs (six earned) in 4 1/3 frames.

After surrendering his first five runs of the season at Oakland on April 20, Paxton regained his dominant form Wednesday at Detroit - yielding only four hits while fanning nine across seven scoreless innings to win for the third time in his last four turns. The 28-year-old Canadian permitted no more than four hits in his four scoreless outings, and he has posted a 39:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio for the season while also not allowing a homer. Paxton allowed one unearned run in 8 1/3 innings to earn a victory in his only start versus the Angels last season.

WALK-OFFS

1. Angels RF Kole Calhoun is 9-for-23 with four multi-hit efforts over his last five games, while CF Mike Trout is batting .415 during his 14-game hitting streak - one shy of matching the longest of his career.

2. Seattle DH Nelson Cruz has homered in five of his last six games and is batting .388 with 14 runs scored, 12 extra-base hits (seven home runs), 21 RBIs and 12 walks during his 19-game on-base streak.

3. Los Angeles' starting pitchers have not allowed more than two earned runs in 14 of the last 16 contests.

Preview: Giants at Dodgers
GAME: San Francisco Giants (10-17) at Los Angeles Dodgers (14-13)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 02 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California

Matt Moore's top performance in 17 starts as a member of the San Francisco Giants was a near no-hitter last August at Dodger Stadium. The left-hander looks for another stellar outing against Los Angeles when the Giants visit the Dodgers on Tuesday in the middle contest of a three-game set.

Moore was one out away from recording the no-hitter when Los Angeles shortstop Corey Seager knocked a single into right field to end perhaps the top effort of a major league career that began in 2011. He will be looking to help the Giants defeat the Dodgers for the second straight night after right fielder Hunter Pence and catcher Buster Posey hit homers in a 4-3 victory over Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw on Monday. Los Angeles third baseman Justin Turner was hitless in four at-bats in the opener to see a 16-game hitting streak come to an end. The Dodgers are waiting on first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to awake from his season-long slumber -- he has yet to homer in 89 at-bats.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Bay Area (San Francisco), SportsNet LA (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants LH Matt Moore (1-3, 4.80 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Alex Wood (1-0, 2.29)

Moore is winless in his last three outings but is coming off a strong performance in which he held the Dodgers to one run and two hits in seven innings. The 27-year-old was pounded for 11 runs and 19 hits -- including four homers -- in 9 2/3 innings while losing back-to-back starts against the Colorado Rockies before rebounding against Los Angeles. Moore is 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA in six career starts against the Dodgers and has kept the hot-hitting Turner (2-for-12) in check.

Wood is making his fourth start of the season and his best effort came Wednesday when he allowed one hit in six scoreless innings during a no-decision against the Giants. The 26-year-old has a 0.97 WHIP while limiting opposing batters to a collective .153 batting average. Wood is 0-2 with a 4.98 ERA in seven career appearances (three starts) against San Francisco and has shut down first baseman Brandon Belt (1-for-10) and struggles versus Posey (4-for-9).

WALK-OFFS

1. The Giants are a National League-worst 4-9 on the road.

2. Los Angeles placed LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (hip) on the disabled list one day after his first win since 2014 and recalled RHP Josh Fields from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

3. Posey, a four-time All-Star, has only two homers and four RBIs for a team that ranks last in the NL in runs scored (91).
