Kasich also handled the Trump conundrum perfectly. Said we have to listen to why he's getting the support. Didn't dismiss him, didn't endorse his ideas. Kasich just gets it. I don't know if he'll get through to the red meat, angry, Republican base that just wants to tear it all down, but he is BY FAR the R's best shot to win a general election.

It was flawless.

The guy has that special ability of knowing exactly what to say and how to say it and when to say it.

He is the ultimate politician but yet finds a way to not come off as a politician.

He is a master at sometimes saying nothing without sounding like he is saying nothing.

He can take an issue and make people on both sides respect his stance.

Bill Clinton was very good at that.

Kasich was impressive but this circle jerk really doesn't mean much when Jeb!'s pac just raised 103Ms before the 1st debate.

Good thing you aren't in charge of hanging Political lines at your book. You'll bankrupt them.

Listening to this forum, Twitter and CNN. NOBODY won, basically if you supported one person going in,
you thought he won.

They said the same thing about that relatively unknown Arkansas Governor named Bill Clinton when he kicked Paul Tsongas all over the place in the first democratic debate in 1991.

That was back when the process was democratic, not plutocratic.

A better example for Kasich would be Obama getting Hilary's fundraisers when they realized who the winning horse was.

He was getting softball questions all night. Foxnews clearly favored him. Fraud!
Dr. Carson had a great closing.

Yeah it's on FOX right after the debate. And they were all old people, they weren't really going after Paul, they were after Trump. Everyone that was voting for Trump is now voting for Cruz. I call Staged Bull Shit.

Rand didn't do as well as his father that's for sure, but he stood out on his liberty message. Ron Paul used to crush these debates.

That's because Rand backtracks and talks out of both sides of his mouth too often, on too many things. I wanted to consider him, but he's just too flip floppy on too many things.
Fake News definitely put their commentators on an Anti Trump, Pro Cruz mission with their questions. Teddy was lobbed softball after softball, Trump was lobbed bombs.

Trump Blasts ‘Nasty,’ ‘Unfair’ Debate Questions

<time class="publish-date" itemprop="datePublished" datetime="2015-08-07 00:43:16" pubdate="">12:43 AM ET</time>

<section class="article-body" itemprop="articleBody"> <figure class="primary-video-wrapper video-brightcove" itemprop="video"></figure> Republican front-runner Donald Trump believes he won Thursday’s inaugural Republican presidential debate, but he’s still bristling over the tenor of the questions asked of him by Fox News.
“The questions to me were not nice,” Trump told a crowded mass of reporters in “spin alley” after the debate. “I didn’t think they were appropriate.”
From the outset, the real estate mogul was pressed on his commitment to the Republican Party, controversial statements about women and immigrants, his business record and shifting positions on issues, resulting in some tense moments on stage.
Trump reserved his harshest criticism for Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who pressed him on a history of critical and insulting remarks about women, complaining, “I think Megyn behaved very nasty to me.”

“I thought it was an unfair question,” he said. “They didn’t ask those questions of anybody else. So I thought it was an unfair question.”
Trump said he would not call Fox News boss Roger Ailes to complain about his treatment, however.
After the debate, Michael Cohen, Trump’s special counsel, criticized Fox News contributor and pollster Frank Luntz over a televised focus group in which Republicans criticized Trump for refusing to pledge to back the ultimate GOP nominee and rule out a third party run.

Trump was still floating a potential independent candidacy after the debate, telling reporters he believes he would beat Hillary Clinton either way. “I would beat her definitely as a Republican, an independent is tougher,” he said.
Trump said he enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with his rivals, expressing praise for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for declining to criticize him on stage.
“I really had a good time,” Trump said. “I think it was an amazing debate. I got to know some of the [other candidates] and they really are incredible people.”

How people put the blinders on is beyond me. It was total Anti Trump and hoping to split some of his votes to Cruz.

Rand is not his Dad for sure. I'll probably be voting Gary Johnson again. It might be a good year for a third party with all these clowns.

Trump got the shaft last night.

All but Cruz would be a better president than Hillary. That's pretty easy to see. I think there are a lot of great candidates on the R ticket this year.

It always amazes me how out of tune theRX is with the rest of the world. Republican no matter what. Occasionally Stormfronty. I love all of you guys but it's a strange political dynamic to me.

A dem is likely winning again. Hopefully it's Bernie. Probably Hillary.

Are people legitimately thinking of voting for Trump? The movie Idiocracy is coming true. He won't be on the ticket but it's amazing how many are supporting him. You guys really want him representing the entire nation just because he talks bluntly?

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

'

Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) went after fellow candidate Donald Trump for refusing to pledge that he would support the GOP nominee and not run as a third-party candidate during Thursday’s primetime GOP presidential debate.
Moderator Bret Baier asked if there was anyone, “who is unwilling tonight, to pledge your support to the eventual nominee of the Republican Party, and pledge to not run an independent campaign against that person? Again, we’re looking for you to raise your hand now, raise your hand now, if you won’t make that pledge tonight.”
After Trump raised his hand, Baier stated, “experts say an independent run would almost certainly hand the race over to Democrats, and likely another Clinton. You can’t say tonight that you can make that pledge?”
Trump responded, “I cannot say. I have to respect the person that, if it’s not me, the person that wins. If I do win, and I’m leading by quite a bit. That’s what I want to do. I can totally make that pledge if I’m the nominee, I will pledge I will not as an Independent. But — and I am discussing it with everybody. But I’m talking about a lot of leverage. We want to win, and we will win. But I want to win as the Republican. I want to run as the Republican nominee.”
Rand then interjected, “this is what’s wrong. He buys and sells politicians of all stripes.” And “He’s already hedging his bet on the Clintons, okay? So, if he doesn’t run as an Republican, maybe he supports Clinton, or maybe he runs as an Independent. But I’d say that he’s already hedging his bets, because he’s used to buying politicians.” Trump responded, “I’ve given you plenty of money.”

Sorry, but I can't help laugh at this post. Any of the candidates on the Republican side would make a much better President than that vile, corrupt lying whore Hillary Clinton. The
fact that people are lining up to pull the lever for such an inept, corrupt piece of shit is astounding to me. But, then again people elected that inept poser in the White House twice.
What a sad state of affairs politics in this country has become.
