I guess I don't understand how some people agree with the players not being able to protest, yet think Roseanne's show getting canceled is wrong.

I personally do not agree with the players protesting, and that if you do something at the workplace then the company has a right to terminate you. I also understand what Roseanne said was not "in the workplace," but I think it's clear that the company has a right to part ways with someone who has such disturbing views, and expresses them that way.

By the way, I'm not accusing all people on here of taking this stance. I'm just saying it seems like hypocrisy if you are against the anthem protests, but think Roseanne should have been able to keep her show . Just my two cents.

From 1980 to 2013, 2269 officers were murdered. 52% were murdered by whites, 41% murdered by African Americans.

The African American population from 1980 to 2013 ranged from 11.6% to 13%. Which means blacks are roughly 350% more likely to murder cops than whites.

Yeah, I can't imagine why a man in uniform would be more suspicious of a black person considering those startling statistics. And even despite that, whites are shot more by police than blacks.

And these pussy football players want to sit there and tell me blacks have a real grievance against cops?

How much more often are whites shot than blacks, compared to how much they should be based on population? The white population is about 5-6 times larger than the black population. Are 5-6 times more white people being killed by officers than blacks?

The likelihood of a cop shooting a black person over a white person, based on population, exceeds that 3.5 figure you put out there.

I see the statistical argument on one end, but you have to complete it with all the facts.

If Trump just told Kraft to put Malcolm Butler in after the 1st quarter or else there will be trouble, we wouldn't have these problems.

LOL, true, the Patriotic Patriots

The one game they protested, after Trump said the inmates are running the asylum, the fans resoundingly jeered them. An absolutely awesome reaction.

PS: and New England is a liberal bastion, a democratic stronghold, this issue is not as partisan as the press wants you to believe

Here's the funny part. This guy doesn't give two fucks about the anthem. If you can't see that he does this because its good for him politically then you have your head in the sand. I'll wager that most of us in this thread care more about the anthem then Trump does. I mean it looked to me like he didn't know the words to it during the bama/ uga game. He seemed to not know god bless america the other day. At the easter egg roll his wife had to nudge him before he put his hand on his heart. There is stories of him not even paying attention to the anthem back in his USFL days. I think that players should stand, however it doesn't upset me if they dont. Either way I have no doubt in my mind that I care more about the national anthem then he does but its literally probably his best political move to date as far as broad support so he keeps doing it.

I think he absolutely cares about the players disrespecting the flag and what it represents. I also think he won and he should just let it go now.

Colin Kapernick was benched, so the cheap shallow man started protesting "social injustice". Bullshit, he's full of shit, and that "social injustice" doesn't exist. Every minority, every immigrant, every demographic had to overcome hardships, and they all did. Nobody had it worse than the Vietnamese who came here in the 70's, yet they've made themselves one of the most successful demographics in this country.

Stop being victims, stop making excuses and stop committing crimes. Take advantage of what this country has to offer and you'll be fine.

So what you're saying is you just really don't like Trump?

Not knowing the words doesn't prove anything either way. Not a easy tune to memorize. And most of us aren't singers , so we're all going to look stupid trying to sing the anthem. The way Trump acts around the military and the vets tells you how patriotic Trump is. Not how he performs during the anthem

So about 60 out of 70 eagles players were not going to go to the white house but somehow it's Trump's fault for telling them to FUCK OFF,can't make this stuff up!! Thank you Mr. President for standing up to the Anti-American scumbags,God bless you!!

+1... they originally committed. Then they changed there mind at the last minute to make Trump look bad. This team is on my shit list now. Fuck them for disrespecting the WH

Lol, what exactly did he win? I’m sure you would consider him a winner if he butted into your business and told you how to run things. I mean isn’t that what you guys always preach, that the government should butt in and tell businesses how they should operate? Oh wait, that’s the other side that wants that. So please explain how his butting in and telling a business how to operate is a win? You seem to have all the answers so explain how his butting in here is a win.

Why is it the right can’t just admit one time that Trump was wrong here. The players were wrong and Trump was wrong to butt in. 2 wrongs don’t make it right!! It’s not a big deal but why can’t you just admit it? Enfuego did, although it was like pulling teeth to get him to admit it. And if you can’t admit he was wrong to butt in here then yes, you are a sheep.

I guess all the fans are wrong for butting in too. ratings went down quite a bit . NFL took a hit with this disrespectful attitude for our flag and anthem

What’s your point? Are you a sheep and agreeing that it was fine for the President to butt in here? I’m not talking about fans or ratings or anything else. You think it’s right that he should tell the players how they should act while they are at work?
