Ray Donavon has been pretty good so far, so at least I have that till walking dead comes back.

How did you resist:

'I figured I'd drill a new orifice and fuck myself for a change'
and
'Guys been around the last 3 months less than my wife's period'

Tin ear dialogue.

I cringed when I heard that one

Yeah, Ray Donavon is good. He lives an interesting life. His dad is a trip running hookers and buying coc. Bunchy is a mess. Interesting characters.

I was starting to feel dumb watching this. I was thinking you have to have like a 150 IQ to keep up! I guess I'm the only person that doesn't hate VV in this role. Reading this thread has me second guessing my opinion.

After last two episodes I'd say its close to as good as last season. JMHO

VV has done well in this role.
Lot of corny lines , but believable.
I think the ending is going to be sick, and it will put this season right next to the first.

Other WTF moments:

“I used to want to be an astronaut, but astronauts don’t land on the moon anymore.”

“Maybe it’s just a little too close to sucking a robot’s dick.”

“Help me out with this and I promise to do a fearless and searching moral inventory.”

Even among fans of the new season, the most common complaint is the dialogue, while alternates between dull and accidentally ridiculous. While the existential monologues of Rust Cohle last season were sometimes critiqued for being pretentious, they were at least memorable and original. (They were also tempered by Woody Harrelson playing the straight man. This season, every character spouts dark and serious dialogue.) Rolling Stone described the dialogue this year as “sound[ing] cribbed from a video game cut scene.”

I'm excited. Drinking special beers to bring this one in (Prairie Apple Brandy noir, etc).
After reading the synopsis'...it's probable that that one cop guy killed Caspere...but I like the intrigue of not guessing and just going along with it.

One local media critic has dubbed season 2 as True Defective - nevertheless, I'll be watching to see who comes out alive.

Ending was not terrible, but it certainly was not rewarding. RIP Velcoro, only really likeable character in my book.
