Tremendous stock with heavy insider buying.

I wish I knew. Figuring out the exit is not my strong point since my reason for entering any stock is based 100% on insider trading.

I know nothing of the fundamentals of OPK, I did not even know what they do to make money when I dropped over $3600 into the company which is another regret. I wish I would have put more. I dont even have enough to remove my cost basis with such a low investment.

So all I can do is place stops on it, and ride it as far as it will go.


The reason I think OPK will do better then HOTT is because the insider buying on this stock by Phillip Frost was more aggresive then any other stock I have ever studied. And it was exactly the kind of insider buying that you look for when you trade on insider info.

HOTT was also traded aggresive by the CEO before I bought that company, but it was nothing compared to what Mr Frost did constantly on the open market up until about 2 weeks ago.

Thats the reason I said I think OPK will do better then HOTT.

Not only do I have record of serious insider open market buying in OPK, but with the added bonus of that person being Phillip Frost.

I have a 25% trail stop on OPK right now.

I have no set figure on what it will be longterm.



Now with all that being said, even though my purchase had nothing to do with the fundamentals of OPK, I naturally got interested in what they do the last few weeks and have done some research on the company itself.

They have 3 very big things in the late stages of approval that could be approved at any moment.

Something tells me thats what this run up is all about.

We have no news whatsoever to back the price move up yet.

But its coming.

Thats whats nice about getting in on the ground floor with the insiders(smart people) on stocks.

You get to be a part of the runup.

Now I understand what the meaning of the phrase "selling on the news" is all about.

Have you ever seen a stock with a great quarter that beats the street and the stock goes way down?
Well in a lot of cases the stock soared up big right before that report and by the time you got in on it it was too late.

By the time the news hits and every Joe Blow out there start jumping on, we on the inside already enjoyed a huge run up on the stock.

I will be watching insider selling real close when the news comes out, but I have a feeling there is something very real about OPK that will be sustained.

$30 to $50 a share is not out of the question in the not too distant future of all this late stage approvals pan out. And according to some very smart people based on insider buying, they believe it will pan out.

We will see.

Besides the period between Jan 21st when Frost bought over 4million shares to Feb 22nd.
Right now we are in the longest period of time in 2011 without Frost buying shares on the open market.
Check the dates of all his buys.
It is now July the 15th and Frost has not bought any shares since June 22nd.
I started this thread on June 24th.
This stock started taking off on the 25th or 26th.

From my learning and study of insider trading this is a GREAT sign.
He open buys consistently for over a year, then right before the action starts he quits.

This is a sign that the inside news that he knows about is right around the corner.

He is not allowed to buy right before news that is not public without facing severe illegal trading sanctions from the SEC.

So this quiet period started on June 22nd.
Now all of a sudden the price is going up 3 days later.

I will tell everyone when im getting out, but this does not mean I will be right.
The only advice I have for right now is to put a stop on your cost basis.
We are in the position to where we can be certain of a profit.

The news that caused this runup has not come out yet. The thing may be just getting started.
I will be in this for a while.

I just noticed this post. If you look back on Jazz, it also had a ton of insider buying right before it started climbing.
In almost every case, if you want to know whats about to go up, all you need to do is check out if the insiders in the company are bullish about there stock.

It could well be a gold mine.

My biggest regret ever was JAZZ, I found that one when it was trading @ 2 bucks. If I let my money sits there until today, I could be looking for 2nd home in Naples, FL now.

I took a profit at 89% gain and I never get back in, I was hoping that it would dip so I can reload and that motherfucker keeps rising.

I'm still kicking my nuts every time I think about it.

i still love the stock, earnings come out next week, could get a great bump, but the market overall right now is complete shit.

I am 100% out of stocks right now except for OPK.

Make sure you set some tight stops while the market is in this condition.

Market is in freefall and taking everything with it.

Insiders for the most part have been selling out the market as a whole.

Its real bearish right now.

I would really like to hang around for the Q10, but we could see a crash like we did in 07 with the S&P dropping below 700.

I bought at 4, gotout at 3.90 around noon on Friday so only a 2.5% loss not too bad.

Compared to the carnage of the market its coming out pretty well.

If you got any other insider trades in the future hopefully you'll continue to post them.
