It's an expression that came from the show Happy Days. The Fonz literally jumped a shark in one of the episode and that is when people lost all respect for that show, it was a great show before that. So now we use that expression when referring to someone that has peaked and now has "jumped the shark" into oblivion. Google it.

john hines from the stern show had a website that he sold to tv guide for a couple of million called jump the shark and the way steve explained it is exactly how the term came about. longtime stern fan

ic will not be returning to the lounge. He signed a big money deal with doc. he had always said that handicapping was for fun and medical school was his number one priority. So why leave a place that you can cap for fun and get paid to a place that you have to put out more than you are capable of. I just didn't get it.

IC wins his 5* again. Back to Back Winning nights for him.

Hey, the guy has his ups and downs. But, he WON in MLB and he WON in WNBA for the entire SEASON. The guy went 8-0 during the Championship run in baseball and went 65% in about two months to finish WNBA. I made some serious coin on him in wnba so I'm loyal.

Arizona I think you're right. He is back to his 1 POD deal in the NBA and just like that he has won back to back days. I follow his youtube videos. The guy is too smart to have losing days for long. He is back to his research and I think he'll be fine.

You and I both follow him and we know he is streaky. I bet you he gets on one of his runs. I love the only responses here are people that say, "he sucks, let me tell you about another handicapper who is great". I remember when this guy went on an INSANE 40-12 run in college ball last year and had 3 straight winning NBA Months. Check the threads on this place, every one was sucking his dick and riding him hard.

Bottom line people go through their streaks. I don't always play his plays now, but if I definitely check him out and I like his articles every day. He is always on my radar along with I hate to say it, Budin and Lang. I want to know what they are on, to ride, or in Lang's case to fade. This is the reason why I like Burns as well, good write-ups, and guys genuinely trying to do well.

You are correct Print. Historically he has been good. I followed because of his discipline and selectivity. He does chase a lot more now that he has gone paid. He still gets away from what made him his name too often, but his runs are sic. I was primarily pointing out that he changed his style and there was no way it was going to work for him long term. I still maintain that and will simply ignore his plays when he gives out 3-5 per day. I'm glad to see he is doing mostly just 1 NBA per day.
The thing is his BAD runs were always much easier to absorb when he would lose 1 play a day for 5 out of 7 days. His bad runs the last 6 months have been losing 20 out 30 in 2.5 weeks, for example.
Again, I have been a big fan and supporter, but if he goes commercial I will be the first to call him out on it.

Does anybody still post IC plays regularly? I don't blindly follow, but I always enjoyed reading his write-ups and liked his commentary.

Zona I agree. He has preached selectivity a lot and when he does it,he wins. He won in WNBA and MLB for the season? Why? Because he needs to realize that he did 1 POD that's why. In Basketball, he is back to just one a day, and Look Behold! He wins 3 of 4 days. He does it in college basketball too, just 1 a day for the most part. Football is different and honestly, I still think he is trying to figure out. He has this IC-7 thing going but he is doing 1 POD per conference and two or 3 plays in the NFL. We'll see how that goes.

I follow him pretty well and check his youtube videos, and yes, his research is good, I read his stuff on his page. He does an sec and nfl article each week and writes a research blog a day.

0-1 nba Monday, under New Orleans couldn't recover after 60+ pt first q. Almost snuck in with a low 4th, but no go

1-0 in cbb to start the season. Let's hope he doesn't follow the nba route and lose the next 8.

As far as the write ups go, you used to be able to find them pretty regularly in the service play forums. He has a bigger following for hoops so I'm guessing they will be more regularly available.

Always some debate on IC and whether or not he is a good capper, a bad capper or somewhere in the middle. Since he doesn't have himself monitored anywhere I will try to do it here for the basketball season and see how he does. NOT good so far

Lost last night with 5* play on Memphis. He claimed in his write up he was 2-0 this year on 5* plays but he made a mistake. He was 2-1 and is now 2-2. Overall his NBA record for this season is:
5-10

CBB 1-0

Total BB
5-11, 31%.

hey zona

I too track IC, here is what I know of him so far:

MLB: Winning season 09' ($4070 in September)
WNBA: Winning season 09' (+$3010 to close wnba)
Football: I haven't tracked him, but I know he is down in Football, especially in college, he is about even in NFL I think.

College Ball: 1-0
NBA: 3-8 (I started tracking him in november for both sports)

I definitely thinking seperating his basketball is important. I did this two years ago, you should see a big differnce between the two sports. He is far better in college than he is in the nba so I think that occuldes the numbers a bit.

But I don't know what tracking him will do though. If he wins, he will have a winning season, if he loses, he will have a losing season. He reminds me in some ways of a cross between Ben Burns and Dr. Bob. Most of these guys lose man, in fact, I'm pretty sure all of them do outside of a few that has winning seasons here and there. I do like to ride him when he's hot though as he can get on streaks.

As far as him being a good capper, he is better than most. He had a great call on the Wizards First half yesterday on his youtube thing and of course, he loses the paid play on Memphis. I just see what he and some others are on and ride him when he's hot. Simple as that.

to be honest i don't know if he wins or loses anymore. i used to have such confidence in him with his POD that i would just blindly follow along and not think twice. if for no other reason i can monitor how he does somewhere where it is easy to find and where others can view for future consideration. if nothing else i can send it to him down the road as a reminder of what he used to be vs where he is now. the guy would pick some obscure game like Rider on a friday night rather than a play in the nba if he thought rider was a better play. doesnt seem he has that same mind set. i can remember passing on a friday night nba card with 14 games and playing long beach st that didnt tip off until midnight east coast time. i'd wake up and see that my account grew over night. those were the good ole days with him. the days when he posted for free and didn't care what the game was as long as it was the best chance to win vs the spread. so i'm going to keep track as long as i keep interested and see how the young man does.
so far 5-10 nba and 1-0 cbb.

well that figures.. I used to follow him religously in the wnba. This year I was so broke that I quit with 2 months to go. Just my luck that he would get hot.

Hey Zona,
IC also had Nuggets -4 Yesterday which hit.

So, he went 1-1 in NBA and 0-1 in college ball.

7-11 NBA
2-2 in CBB
9-13 = 40.9.

He is on Cornell +7.5 & Milwaukee today. :toast:

I'm telling you man, we've tracked this guy long enough to know that he will make a run at it.
