Yes I agree and we must remember that Pogacar beat Roglic by 19 seconds in their last meeting in the ITT. Any guesses as to who will prevail on stage 20 ITT between those two ?
pogacar has only two teammates left in the peloton with 55 km left. Jumbo and Ineos have a full stack. How does pogacar win the tour with this lack of support come stages 15, 17,18?.......if he does, damn he is one exceptional rider
Today was never going to be a stage for the GC contenders! Not tough enough to drop anyone but the sprinters which they basically did ! Big disappointment for Peter Sagan as his biggest hope to get back into the green Jersey hunt was to win today’s stage. He ended up finishing 4 th which gave him only 18 points instead of the 50 he really wanted by winning the stage. I’ll post more later !
I think tomorrow’s stage will tell us who will win the Tour. I just doubt the Bernal has the legs to win such a tough stage from what I saw on stage 13 !
i think it’s Roglic verses Pogacar Bernal will be hanging on for 3 rd.
Today’s stage 15 is going to be the toughest of the entire race and I believe it’ll not be won by anyone in a breakaway. This is put up or shut up time for the main GC contenders !
showtime!!!!....17,18 will also be huge tho. roglic to be exposed in one of those stages, imo, liekly 18 --- it'll be then when he proves to the world he's a worthy Tour de France Champion...or not . stage 20 is relevant only if roglic and podagar are close OR bernal is in the lead
As for who his main rivals in the mountains would be come Sunday, Roglič remained as non-committal as ever - although his key rival could well be Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), by far the strongest GC rider in the Pyrenees. “It will be a nice challenge again, and for sure it will be nice to watch,” he commented, “and my eyes will be on everyone. But mostly, on myself.”
Jumbo has 6 riders leading the peloton. This is a great opportunity for Roglic to finish off Bernal as Ineos is down to 2 riders and Bernal will be exposed in the final climb.
