My point is they still have allowances and have to ask for things from Mom and Dad. Sure, I understand that a lot of kids get what they ask for, but at the end of the day the Mom and Dad have the wallet and you've (Nike) just turned some of them off. Like others have mentioned, you'll need to make up for those folks. What you talking about Willis?
I have 8 and 11 yr old girls. Granted they aren't sports fans other than playing soccer on the weekend and a day game at Fenway. They like Nike products very much, but they also like UA, they're back to school sneakers are UA. You want to know why they like UA? Because they see other kids at school wearing UA. When we took them school shopping weeks ago I pulled into the outlets with a UA and Nike store right next to each other and they chose the UA store. Got everything we needed so there was no need to visit the Nike store. (I know my POV on this is limited since I have 2 daughters and no teenage sons).
But my point is there isn't much room for error in this competitive market. I have always wore Nike's playing hoops, probably will continue to do so because they work for me, but it wouldn't be too hard to find a replacement.
I do agree with a comment you made further down the thread in that most older folks at the gym are wearing cheaper clothing than Nike. I see it on the basketball court. Most take their sneakers seriously, but other than that I don't see much for Nike apparel, other than the black guys who seem to care a lot about having a swoosh on their gear.
I just think when kids are watching football on Sundays (if they still do), they see Tom Brady and Cam Newton throwing TD passes, but they don't see Colin Kaepernick.
Non football player who a lot of people dislike....kinda strange
