The Nets excluded - every other team would lose 4-0 to Jordan, Bird or Magic and Kareem

We are watching a different game then.

There is only one way to settle this....AT THE POOL TABLE!!!

One day you and me will duke it out!!! LOL

Yes a different game my friend

A game where they used to play defense

Guys like Jordan & Bird averaged 30ppl when they actually played D and were double teamed consistently

Imagine what they would average today with no defense at all being played

Most of us will agree that LeBron cries about everything

Can you even imagine the look on his face when he would get hammered to the floor by those Knicks & Pistons teams with Laimbeer, Mahorn, Salley, Anthony Mason, Oakley, and other teams & players like that?

Actually, it would be hilarious @)

I dont think anyone can argue that lebron is in way better shape than those big boys in the 80s.

He may cry more but he is definitely a physical beast

These guys hustle just as much they did back then.

But back then they were only guarding the paint, nowadays they have to guard from sideline to sideline.

And if you double team someone, that means someone is wide open for an uncontested 3.

Do you wanna double team KD and leave Curry or Thompson wide open??

And would I wanna double team Jordan or Bird??
Yes because whoever they pass off to is not that great of a shooter (certainly not like Curry or Thompson)

Advantage today's teams

Shaq was the biggest beast of all and those kind of players still beat him up.

But I understand your point

The boys in the 80's were 'chopsticks on stilts'

no way they would hold up versus today's guys

I think an all star team from the 90s would beat an all star team from today.

Ewing
Barkley
Malone
Jordan
Bird

vs

LeBron
Curry
Harden
Durant
Kawai Leonard

I'm not going position by position. Just naming a few players off the top of my head

Those guys in the eighties played without a three point line.

Take that away and those old teams would destroy today's players.

Luka Dončić should kiss the ground he is in the league, back in the day he would be laughed off the court

Agreed

Replace Ewing with Shaq or Hakeem and it's even worse

All I am saying just go to youtube, pick a game to watch.

And just ask yourself. Could those guys play against Steph Curry like that???

And if they would have to guard him like todays teams do then those teams would not longer play like they did in the 80's and 90's

Hence admitting that todays' teams are superior...

You are of course absolutely correct

Pro athletes in all sports are - as a collective - fully superior to their counterparts from 1970s-1990s

Likely 50% or more of fulltime pros from 1970s-1990s would be unemployable were they magically transported into the year 2021

The most vocal objectors to this truth are by and large males aged 50+ who also insist that their (our...I'm 61) generation of human beings are far superior to the current generation of adults aged 16-41 when in fact every emerging human is biologically more highly evolved than the humans who birthed them

I always find the "athletes have evolved" theory kinda hilarious.

So let's break this down, and it's very simple.

If humans have truly evolved, it takes millions of years to do so.

But we have ppl believing that we have evolved into far superior athletes in a mere 20-30 years.

It's ridiculous guys.

I will say this....

We have more ppl playing sports, and more ways of being healthier.

But these athletes today are no faster or quicker and don't jump any higher than years ago.
There's just more of them.

Now we can talk about what today's players are Lacking.

Defensive skills
Heart
Post up play
Humbleness
toughness
among other things I'm sure I'm leaving out

Today's players can toughen up in a hurry if they had to. But the other guys couldnt all of a sudden shoot better
