Today's top NBA teams are sooo much better than the ones from 80's and 90's

and its not even close...

The game has improved. Todays players shoot a lot better.

Go to Youtube and watch an "old" game. They are all just "guarding the paint".

A player like Curry would have 50 points by half time, before they would have to figure out that 'Shiiittt these guys can shoot 3's'

Today's players are more skilled and bigger.

Making 50 percent of your 3's on volume was unheard of back in the day.
Nowadays it happens quite a bit

u are aware that if you touch another player with ur hand it is a foul now? Bruce Bowen would lock everyone of these guys down 10 years ago

Matt Bonner made 93 of 100 three pointers - in practice - with no one guarding him

Bruce Bowen can only guard one guy at a time..

Take a look. Back in the day the paint area was a mosh pit. 8 of the 10 players on the floor were there.
Nowadays its empty.

Todays players shoot so much better from distance.
If the old timers would insist to play they way they did. They would give up 150 points per game... Easy

Dumbest post ever. The guys today are soft. No defense today.

All I am saying just go to youtube, pick a game to watch.

And just ask yourself. Could those guys play against Steph Curry like that???

And if they would have to guard him like todays teams do then those teams would not longer play like they did in the 80's and 90's

Hence admitting that todays' teams are superior...

Give the guy a break...he is probably about 12. The greatest ball handlers ever exist today because there is no traveling or palming the ball anymore. Small daddy...you will have to look up what carrying the ball was.
Durant, Leonard and Jokic stack up well, but do you want Embid over Hakeem or Robinson? How about a soft guy like AD versus Barkley or maybe Karl Malone and John Stockton versus Paul George and Harden.
And then you have to talk about defense. Pick and choose your battles instead of being ignorant and start by maybe looking up Oscar Robertson.

You have to play 10 steps off your man because if you touch him it's a foul so if you get on him he goes past you with ease - let me guess - Shaq couldnt play today? or would be average? same with Duncan?

I said team versus team. Not some of the top players of the era

You cited the best player in the NBA from 99-03 and then the best guy from 03-08.

Of course those two could play in any era

There were no super teams back in the 80’s and 90’s (other than lakers and Celtics). Seems like each team had 1 star.

today’s game has a few good teams stacked with stats while the other teams are just meh.

hoops was more exciting back in the 80’s and 90’s.

next we’ll wear that Lebron is better than MJ

Bizarre rule changes, every fucking year, to encourage freedom of movement

One of the most critical rules of basketball as been changed. "Contact alone is not a foul, there has to be an advantage gained or an advantage lost" (paraphrasing)

Now the game (or games) are all about the refs and the rules and the video replays. They find a wrong where none exists. They've ruined sports in many ways

Like the world, sports have become assbackwards, the tail wags the dog, the officials are three teams in every contest, it's about form over substance.

The game would look a little different if teams could still play defense, the same can be said about football.

Today's players are very skilled shooters and overall more athletic.

But the brand of basketball was 1000x better in the 80's and 90's IMO. With different rules.

Put one of the great 80s teams on the floor tomorrow in their prime against one of these new super teams in todays rules? They probably get beat handily. Put one of these Super teams on the floor against the late 1980's Pistons in 1989 with the old rules? They all get slammed to the ground and give up by halftime when down by 20 with broken noses.

The Nets excluded - every other team would lose 4-0 to Jordan, Bird or Magic and Kareem

Different rules and different era's. Just with hand checking alone, based off that I definitely take the guys from the 80's/90s. There are guys from that era that could flourish in today's game and guys from this era that wouldn't in those times.
