The Money Team Wins - NBA Wednesday
Recap 1-1
NBA YTD 155-110
1K BROOKLYN -12 (LOST)
The Houston Rockets come along at the right time for the Nets, who are desperately trying to lock down the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. They badly need a win and will get an easy one here. The Rockets are going through the motions at this point and as they are on the last game of an east coast road trip before heading home, their thoughts may be elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Nets should be locked in as they need to win games down the stretch to avoid having to compete in the play-in tournament. Also, the Rockets have been a bad bet, as they have lost 5 of their last 6 against the spread. Take the Nets to cover.
1K PHOENIX -6.5 (WON)
Karl-Anthony Towns, who hit the game-winning shot against the Warriors last Sunday, sat out the Kings game due to a calf injury management, and he should be ready to go Wednesday against Phoenix. On the other side, the Suns are expecting to get Kevin Durant back. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Durant will return from an ankle injury that kept him on the sidelines for ten straight games.
With KD back in the starting lineup and having a debut in front of the home crowd in Phoenix, I have to take the Suns. Minnesota beat Phoenix 121-116 at home in their previous duel in January, and the Suns were quite shorthanded, missing both Devin Booker and Chris Paul. If Durant suits up Wednesday, the Suns will be at full strength.
