The Money Team Wins - Sunday NBA

Recap 1-1

NBA YTD
142-97 (60%)

This Week
7-2 (78%)

Philadelphia -7.5 (WON)

Philadelphia 76ers are currently (25-10) inside the Wells Fargo Center this season, as I see them staying hot in this game. They have the advantage on both ends of the court, as they will slowly pull away throughout this game. According to dunksandthrees.com, the 76ers have the fourth-highest adjusted offensive rating and the ninth-lowest defensive rating. They will get the job done on both ends of the court and dominate in this game. The Wizards are only (4-6) in their last 10 and they've continued to struggle on the defensive end of the court. Washington won't get enough stops to cover the spread, as they only have the 20th lowest adjusted defensive rating and they are allowing the 16th most points per game. They've struggled to defend on the perimeter, as Philadelphia will get hot from the outside and pull away throughout this game. Philadelphia is scoring the 14th most points per game and they have the highest three-point shooting percentage in the league. They will score throughout and cover the spread at home.

Portland +1.5 (
LOST)

This has been a disappointing season for the Portland Trail Blazers as they are 13th in the conference and 31-36. But they have had a lot of injuries and they have taken their toll. But right now they are as healthy as they have been in a while with both Simons and Jusuf Nurkic back in the lineup. They have been playing well on this road trip and nearly knocked off the Sixers Friday. Facing a Pelicans team that played Saturday night against the Thunder and may be without Ingram, I love their chances here. Plus, they already beat New Orleans in New Orleans this season. Take the Blazers here to cover.

Minnesota +5.5 (
BIG WIN SU)

Both teams are fighting for playoff position but with the way things are so tight in the West, Minnesota needs this game even more than Atlanta does. Rudy Gobert is questionable for this game, but Minnesota has won four of their last five games without him. Coming off back to back losses, expect a strong effort from the Timberwolves who are also 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. I can't lay more than three points with the Hawks here. Take Minnesota.

Miami -7.5 (
LOST)

The Utah Jazz are coming to the end of a long road trip during which they are 2-3 -- but their 2 wins have come in their last two games. They return home after this game against Miami and I think this is just a bridge too far after back to back good games on Thursday and Saturday. They face the best team of the trio in the Heat, and the Heat are coming off a bad loss to Orlando on Saturday. Jimmy Butler has been on a tear and he will be angry on Monday. Miami needs to strong together some wins to get into the 6th spot and they can't afford to lose games like this is they want any chance of that. take Miami here.

Miami -4 (BIG WIN)

Miami has been a terrible bet this season, as they are a woeful 25-43-2 this season against the spread. And yes, that is the worst ATS record in the NBA. But I do believe in Jimmy Butler, and I think this is the time they strong together some wins and make a push for that 6th seed. They have a short handed Grizzlies team coming in and then they have a pretty favorable schedule the rest of March, including two huge games with the Knicks. Also, the Grizzlies have not been a good bet on the road as of late, as they are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 road games. Take the Heat here to cover.

LA Clippers ML -132 (
WON)
LA Clippers -2 (
WON)

Just a couple of weeks ago, Golden State trounced LA 115-91 as a 3-point home favorite despite missing Stephen Curry. Jordan Poole went off for 34 points, while Kawhi Leonard led LA with 21 points. Paul George went 3-for-15 from the field, and the Clippers were outscored 42-16 in the third quarter. Back in February, the Clippers outlasted the Warriors 134-124 as 8-point home favorites, outscoring Golden State 44-28 in the third quarter.

I’m expecting to see a much closer battle this time around, and I’m backing LA only because the Warriors have been awful on the road so far this season. Golden State is 5-15 SU and 6-14 ATS in its last 20 road contests and 0-8 SU and ATS over its previous eight showings away from home.

Detroit +12.5 (LOST 100-119)

I love a contrarian bet, and this one certainly fits the bill. The Nuggets are still the top team in the Western Conference, but they have failed to cover the spread in five straight games and are riding a four-game losing streak overall. They are facing a Detroit team that no one wants to bet on right now, but the Pistons picked up an outright win earlier this week and will be getting a boost when Ivey from a three-game absence. The Pistons have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 games against Denver, including an outright win earlier this season, and they have value as double-digit underdogs on Thursday.

LA Lakers -5.5 (LOST)

There are a lot of ifs and buts in this matchup. With both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving carrying a questionable tag, it’s impossible to predict what will happen on Friday night. Luka and Kyrie have missed three straight games, and if they both remain on the shelf, I would go with the Lakers to cover. Hopefully, Anthony Davis will be ready to play and lead the way for Los Angeles.

The Mavs have won two of their previous three meetings with the Lakers in 2022-23, but Los Angeles beat Dallas 111-108 at home in their last encounter on February 26. Anthony Davis dominated the Mavericks last time they met, notching up 30 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks.

Brooklyn +2.5 (LOST)

I am going to ride with the Brooklyn Nets (+2.5) at home, as I believe they are good enough on the defensive end of the court to cover the spread in this game. According to dunksandthrees.com, the Nets have the 11th-lowest adjusted defensive rating and they are holding their opponents to the fourth-lowest shooting percentage from the field. The Nuggets have continued to struggle over the last week, as I don't believe they will wake up in this game. Denver has also been terrible on the defensive end of the court, as they won't get enough stops to pull away throughout this game. The Nuggets are allowing the 23rd-lowest shooting percentage from the field and they only have the 19th-lowest adjusted defensive rating, according to dunksandthrees.com. Their defensive struggles will continue in this game and the Nets will find different ways to score without. Brooklyn still had the 12th-highest adjusted offensive rating and the third-highest team shooting percentage. They will continue to attack throughout this game and score enough points to cover this spread.

Golden State -10.5 (BIG WIN 121-108)

The Warriors come in slumping but the undisciplined Rockets should be just what the doctor ordered for them on Monday night. Golden State should feast on Houston's struggles to cover the perimeter and will be happy to play this game at an up tempo pace thanks to what should be a bevy of turnovers between the two teams. I am confident that the Warriors will see a major bounce-back game from the Splash Brothers on Monday night and pull away quickly from the hapless Rockets. Golden State is 9-1 in the last ten meetings with Houston and, with ten games left on the schedule, this is a must-win for the defending champs. The Rockets are also just 2-9 in the second game of back-to-back games this season.

The Money Team Wins - NBA Tuesday

NBA YTD 150-102 (60%)

Recap 2-0 (100%)

This Week
3-0 (100%)

Cleveland -2.5 (WON)

Brooklyn's having offensive issues and going up against the NBA's top defense. I know that Cleveland isn't the same on the road, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster. The Nets are reeling right now in general, and this is a tight spread against a tough team that's playing well. At this point of the season, Cleveland is better on both ends of the floor, and even if Jarrett Allen doesn't play that shouldn't change the outcome of this game.

Oklahoma City +6.5 (
WON)

Both teams enter this contest red-hot. Oklahoma City has not played as well on the road this season as they have at home, but the Clippers have not dominated on their own home court, just three games above .500. The Thunder have also beaten the Clippers both times this season and are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings.
One stat to watch is that Los Angeles is averaging 111.4 points per game at home this season while Oklahoma City is averaging 113.6 points per game on the road. They can match Los Angeles offensively but are clearly not as good defensively. However, Los Angeles cannot take advantage of that, which should keep this game close, giving Oklahoma the victory against the spread.

This Week
3-2 (60%)

NBA YTD
150-104 (59%)

Memphis -12.5 (
LOST)

With the addition of Morant, Memphis should be back in business with their explosive offense. The defense will be able to shut down one of the worst offenses in the NBA in Houston. The Grizzlies have been dominant at home this year and there is no chance that Houston will come close to a win. The Rockets are one of the worst teams in the league and will lose very easily.

Utah -4.5 (
LOST)

To be honest, it is surprising that Portland enters this contest is only a 4.5-point underdog. They are 0-4 ATS in their last four games while Utah is 6-0 ATS in their last six. Plus, Portland enters on a six-game losing streak that has seen them lose all but one of those games by at least 14 points. They are not just losing, but being blown out.
Utah is playing solid basketball right now, winning four their last five games and a one-point victory over Boston (March 18) was the only contest where opponents were within seven in their last four victories. This is a team knowing they need victories, and they should have no trouble stomping out Portland. The Jazz are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.

Oklahoma City +4 (LOST)

With the injury to George, it is surprising that oddsmakers still see the Clippers as the favorite in this contest. The Thunder have dominated Los Angeles this season, winning all three games, and one has to expect that there will be a bit of a psychological letdown for the Clippers as they try to regroup with their star player.
Oklahoma City is playing exceptional basketball of late, winning eight of their last 10, and they have won their last two games by a combined total of five points. This is a team that understands the pressure and is living up to the challenge. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last six while Los Angeles is 0-5 ATS in their last five games when playing on one day’s rest.

This Week 4-4 (

NBA YTD
151-106 (59%)

WASHINGTON -7.5 (WON)

Neither one of these teams are playing good basketball right now, and both teams have some key players who are listed as questionable. But even if Beal and Kuzma don't play, the Wizards are still good enough to beat the Spurs, especially at home. Plus, this is pretty much a must-win for the Wizards if they want to make the play-in tournament, so a loss here would really hurt any chances they still have. The Wizards have been a terrible bet as of late, as they have lost 8 of their last 10 against the spread, but the Spurs have been a bad net too. Take the Wizards here, as they are home and have more to play for.

LA LAKERS -5.5 (
LOST)

This is a critical game for both teams, but Los Angeles has a couple of clear advantages in this contest. Despite the fact that Oklahoma City is 3-1 in their last four games on the road, this is a team that has struggled away from Oklahoma this year (14-21). They caught a bit of a “break” when Paul George was hurt in the victory over the Clippers on Tuesday.

Now they will take on the Lakers on Friday after having to play the Clippers again on Thursday. While they didn’t have to travel anywhere for this game, this should still be a tired club. Look for the Lakers to win by six or more.

The Money Team Wins - NBA Saturday

Recap 0-1
This Week 4-5

NBA YTD
151-107 (59%)

LA CLIPPERS -5 (LOST)

The victory over Oklahoma City was an impressive one, especially considering that the team was missing Paul George but still found a way to dominate the contest. George will still be out for this game, but if Leonard continues to shoot as he has recently, this team should be fine. Leonard is averaging nearly 30 points per game over his last five contests, and he is the kind of player who can carry a team.

The Pelicans are struggling on the road in recent weeks. They are just 12-24 away from Louisiana this year. It is true that the team is on a three-game winning streak, but two of those victories came at home, where this team is much better. New Orleans is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10. Los Angeles is 5-2 ATS in their last seven.

The Money Team Wins - NBA Sunday

Recap 2-0
This Week 6-6

NBA YTD 153-107 (59%)

End up going 6-6 for the week and down juice....

MEMPHIS -2 (
WON)

Memphis has been covering spreads on the road this season, but the team has been playing so well over the past 10 games. Memphis has won five straight games and eight of their last nine games. They are also enjoying a night off since their last game on Friday. Atlanta played on Saturday night as fatigue will be an issue. Atlanta is just 17-19 against the spread at home this year. Memphis should take advantage as they are one of the top teams in the NBA.

CLEVELAND UNDER 225 (
BIG WIN 199 POINTS)

A big reason why the Cavaliers allow the fewest points per game is the pace they play with, which is the lowest in the NBA entering this contest against the tanking Rockets. They should not face much resistance in this game, and unless they opt to sit one or more of their star players, they will get an easy win with this game going under. Houston has been bottom five in offensive rating for most of the year, and they will struggle to generate any consistent offensive possessions against one of the best defensive clubs in the NBA. Houston cannot make a three-point shot either, coming in next to last in three-point percentage.

Recap 1-1
This Week 1-1

NBA YTD
154-108 (59%)

1K NEW YORK OVER 230 (
BIG WIN 252 POINTS)

This game will be played at a high pace with the Knicks wanting to take an easy win with them. New York will be full of energy with their latest game coming on Thursday night. The Rockets are coming off of a big loss to Cleveland on Sunday night so fatigue will be an issue and allow for easy buckets in transition. The over is 5-0 in the Rockets' last five road games. The over is 4-1 in the Knicks' last five games playing on three or more days rest.

1K CHICAGO +4.5 (
LOST 112-124)

The Bulls have been red hot lately, going 7-2 over their last nine and have gone 4-1 ATS over their last five, and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four road games. Chicago is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between these teams and is 4-1 ATS in the five meetings between these teams in Los Angeles.

Chicago is playing on back-to-back nights which would seem to give the Clippers a big edge. However, this team is not as good without Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard is battling an injury as well. The Bulls should win this game outright, but look for them to cover the spread regardless.

Recap 0-1

NBA YTD
154-109

1K NEW ORLEANS +8.5 (LOST)

The Pelicans should be able to hang around and cover an 8-point spread even though they’ll play on the second night of a back-to-back. New Orleans defends the 3-point line very well, while Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas will torture the Warriors’ frontcourt.

Back on March 3, the Warriors outlasted the Pels by nine points, overcoming a 14-point first-quarter deficit. Golden State shot just 10-for-31 from deep. The Warriors missed Steph Curry, while the Pels were without Valanciunas and Jose Alvarado. Without Alvarado, the Pelicans had covered in four straight outings before Monday’s clash at Portland.
