Thoughts and Opinions on Wilmington, NC?

El Toro is history...I worked in the tower during those air shows....that is why Railbird is always on my ass about air show deaths...

You ever come across a Sgt Major Crawford when you served? He became the Sgt Major of the Marine Corps after I got out in 1979...we played a few rounds of golf together in Okinawa at the Kadena Air base...

He doesn't ring a bell. When I was assigned at Camp Pendleton, my Lt. Colonel was James Jones. He went on to be the Commandant and also got pretty high up with Obama, National Security Advisor.

I spent a year in Okinawa, might be more depressing than Jacksonville.

Figure 8 island is where you want to be, as that is where my beach house is and where as im typeing this at now, plus a great yacht club on the island, next year we have the pga coming to eagle point on the island

I don't live far from Wilmington. Nice place. Has it's bad areas, but lots of history, culture, recreation.

Been here, not quite 24 hours, but very nice area....going to check it out some more, check out some houses etc. Only thing is, the rain (which I usually love) which does not make for checking out new area very good. Have a great day everyone!
