This place used to be busy year round..

I think a lot of it is that baseball is no longer a national sport, it's very regional just like hockey. I agree with vlad, I literally can not tell you who is even leading their division in baseball. People don't 'talk' baseball anymore.

It's really become football or nothing.

The solution is nothing. Boards are dying everywhere. Forums are becoming a thing of the post with social media going the way it is.

only place i go to regularly is reddit now.

To a point.. Although I hate twitter, i do spend a lot of my internet time on there, although there's really no back and forth and don't really know people the way you do a poster on a forum you've been at for years.

At least in my circle people don't gamble like they used to. I don't visit any of the sub boards except the MMA board and read the Rubber Room once a month

Reddit is a site that will take up all of your time once you discover it. I just started going there regularly this year. They're a top site to visit.

I did a 180 on reddit - it really is one of the best sites out there.

I think most of the responses in this thread have truth to them. There is no 1 reason.

Certainly sports becoming more "niche" as the entertainment market in general is more fragmented plays a role. Social media and all that stuff I don't really buy as much of an excuse. A few other boards I know are doing quite well, interest in sports is at an all time high and interest in some form of sports betting is at an all time high as well.

When was the last time this site added a good poster? If you are a good poster and joined recently do not take offense to this. I just can't recall.

Tis the year of the Colts. Look at the Colts schedule and give an intelligent record prediction. Since I know you will say it, yes, the Pats have had Luck's number. BTW, he will just turn 26 when the season starts and Brady will be 38

Not "The Year of the Colts" until they are willing to spend a few bucks on defense. They never have..... and show no possibility that they ever will!

I mean REAL MONEY! It is simple. Owner thinks he knows (when he is not drugged up?) that scoring points puts butts in the seats. That's all he cares about. OBVIOUSLY

Indiana people loved Manning..... they love Luck...... they could give a shit about watching 10-7 games...... even if they almost always could have the 10.

One of the best values on this site is information. Does not mater what the topic is. Say you have a sports question or even a general question. Post your question and someone here will nail it with a solid answer and/or an informative link.

I don't see any difference. Just can't believe the baseball forum has turned in to a shit show... usually that's cfb or nba's job. If they really want some traffic, they should merge the Offshore with the Poly, the mods would love that action!

SOS, same thread every year.

100% true & surprised such experienced posters dont realize how repetitive it is year after year after year, yet the traffic has been the same the last 5-6 years. (Fact)

This is place is still dead during NFL just an FYI.

100% false

Last 5-6 years the numbers/traffic has remained virtually identical each football season.

Each Sunday sees a point where 9,000 - 12,000 are on at peak time.
It has been that way for several years.

We used to see 14,000-16,000 at same time on Sundays but again, that was years ago, and the numbers have lingered around the same since then...

Last summer we got spoiled, that Donald Sterling saga the forum buzzing months into our slow period.

this is like every year though, and even last year there were thread like this.

Believe me, i want it to be busier too.. I spend just as much time on here during the summer as football..

RX is still a great place... I've enjoyed the OS even more than years past the last year or so.
