I don't think that there is some big conspiracy to make Penn St. cover, or anything of that nature...BUT...if you thnk Donahgy is/was the only ref on the take in the NBA, or any sports you can gamble on and 1. "they" caught him and 2. now sports are completely clean, then you are one naive mug.

We don't hear about these things because if you roll on the type of people who can get you in their pocket, your family gets hurt. You HAVE to pay when you get in a hole. They don't care how you do it - they don't ask you to fix games - you just HAVE to pay.

I'd bet that just about everyone who bets benefits almost exactly 50% and loses 50% from any of these types of "fixes", though I do agree they happen more often than we could ever realize.

The most important things are the most basic - money management, bet size, passing games that you just want action on, etc. The most important things are not hedging a ten team teaser on the last leg, whether refs are fixing games (that had two sides BTW), 3 point middle opportunities, etc.

No, the umpire was clearing out of the way when he was running up the middle. After that, he changed course and went outside. But it clearly wasn't the design of the play to go outside.

The ref had no where else to go, he was out of position, had two lb's barring down on his left and braced himself for the hit. What do you want him to do, take a helmet right in the chest? Shuffle left and get whiped out by the lb's. The everyone would say the game was rigged for SC.

It is a split second decision, he is not a robot.
