Don't know if there is an actual study on it but was just reading opinions on it. Again it isn't the only factor but certainly a factor.

it really is common sense though in my opinion.
How the fuck is something with no scientific backing common sense?

Dude..... Seriously you gotta know this. In practice you are standing around most times. In a game you are fatigued and under pressure. Many different factors.

None of those factors being hand size. Use your pea brain and realize youre dead wrong

There is a difference in shooting free throws at practice and shooting free throws in a game???? Do their hands get bigger during the game?

LOL!!! You just hit the nail on the head! Karem's and David Robinson's hands got smaller during a game! While poor Shaq and company hands get bigger during a game!!

Lol, Shaq/Deandre/Rondo... they have had some of the best shooting coaches in the world work with them to improve their shooting. They just don't have the feel or hand/eye coordination, whatever you want to call it. It's not like they aren't trying. I like the comment about kids being able to make them. Yea right, hahaha... have you ever watched 6th graders play?... they have trouble making layups. And no, having a requirement that everyone in the NBA be able to shoot would be like forcing lineman in the NFL to be able to kick field goals or throw accurate passes.

There is no reason we should have to watch deandre jordan take 20 free throws every game. It is horrible entertainment value. They make plenty of rules to force teams to do things that they otherwise could take advantage of. Like the 24 second clock, 3-second violations, goaltending, hand checking, etc, etc. The rule will change after this year, there is no doubt about that. Makes for horrible basketball.

Asking a center to shoot free throws is like asking a lineman to kick fgs? You wonder why no one respects your opinion around here

my goodness you're a fool. Do you even notice that all the poor free throw shooter are 7 footers? You think they all don't practice it? Lmao....do you know how much they practice it everyday?

you should change your handle. It should not have nba in it. You don't know what you're watching or talking about.

With only a few very rare exceptions (Rondo) the players over 7' are the only ones who can make the NBA without being able to shoot from 15' away. Shooting free-throws is hard for those of us who are merely 6', we just never had any hope of playing basketball at the highest level.

Lol, this is rich coming from the Hitler supporter.

The analogy was simply that not everyone in a team sport has to be able to perform the same tasks. It went right over your head.

Unfortunately for you.....I'm right most times.

www.sportsnstats.com/nba-free-throws/

Ever hear the saying there are lies, damn lies, and statistics, classic case! Height/Hand size has little to do with free throws. Big men who played a SKILL game, ie being able to hit a jump shot, have excellent free throw percentages! SKILLED big men such as Karem, David Robinson, Akeem, KG, and Duncan are able to hit free throws. Big men who relied on height, size, and athletic ability are not good free throw shooters!

I think the rule is pretty lame but at the same time all u have to do is shoot a reasonable percentage and it wont occur

Are you dumb enough to believe that link just proved your point?
All the info was provided. I'm not surprised you will go on being mis-informed. Just a coincidence that those with biggest hands have worst percentages but coming from the guy who thinks there is no difference in practice shooting and game shooting.....I'm not surprised.

Come to think of it this rule applies to very few players I can think of in NBA history: Shaq, Jordan, Howard, Drummond - it's pretty much in them to improve a vital part of the game or sit them on the bench

Wilt is practically standing at the top of the key, and he's acting like he's not going to even try... because he knows it's not going to be close.
