You think government employees with pending pensions will just move on huh? These aren’t fast food jobs Doug.[/QUOTE

I'm willing to give you that air traffic controllers are unlikely to quit

That is a sweet job ! After some research their median pay level is 125k. You don't even need a college degree but a bachelor's degree is common

You can't be accepted beyond age 31 and must retire by age 56. You can retire at 50 with a full pension with 20 years service. These people should have savings enough and credit to last it out a good while. I doubt their skills transfer to the private sector at $60/hour !

The furloughed workers are in a good spot too, if they savings, they will get paid for not working eventually and can drive for Uber or something for now
They qualify for unemployment too, but that must be paid back.

So , yes it isn't as bad as it seems for them you

I've read it's one of the most stressful jobs in the world.

I'm sure it is very stressful, it's not like a grocery store clerk putting a case of canned whatever in the wrong spot, that's simple to fix when discovered

You put a jet in the wrong place, hundreds of people could die ! That's why they likely make as much as pilots or even more.

They shouldn't have to worry about being paid since they are so essential. They are certainly subject to stress issues. I wonder what they are like in person ?

It's good they can retire at 50. Lots of respect for them.

Hopefully this won't result in the accumulating stress causing a Donald Margolis situation.

the shutdown is about 3-5 weeks from ending - the last round of food went out 5 days ago - unfortunately they doubled the last payment - once the food stamp money is spent Pelosi will have to give Trump his wall - about 50 million American receive food stamps - who do you think these recipients vote for? they are the bedrock of the democratic base - they did not vote for Trump and he knows this - they are gonna go bizerk - everyone knows Trump aint budging - the food stampers are going flip on the their democratic representatives who are going to tell Pelosi "just give Trump his fucken wall money" - and for the record - one month of the food stamp budget is the entire wall's budget

I think it ends within a week.

You may be right.

Paychecks are due the 30th so its another pay period where employees arent getting paid.
IRS E-FILING starts Monday the 28th and IRS agents can even get into their computer programs.
Plus a bunch of other shit going on that we dont know about

Maybe the compromise is that Trump does his State of the Union address (he can talk about how good the wall is and that certain dems suck) and that the govt ends its shutdown???

Very interesting. Another interesting comment that I've seen by Seymour.

Almost thought you were going to say "gimp out". Lol.

Don caved,I am one sick Dago

Don't see it that way at all. Trump switched the script on the Dems... He won't get the blame at all now , and if nothing gets done , we can use the Emergency Card … What was the alternative ?

Trump gave the workers their money caz the Democrats took their money away. Their children were

crying caz they were hungry and had no food to eat. Trump got sick caz the Democrats were

laughing at the situation. So Trump put the food back on the table so the children could eat and be happy again.

Trump will build the wall and the Democrats will be the ones crying and be unhappy!

This be the way I see this here issue and matter! Hope it helps! cheersgif
