Well in gambling there is a little thing called Juice (it's how the bookies theoretically make their money) but even if you are say like Aces Gold (we know how that turned out) you want to make your favorites cost more than your underdogs otherwise you stand to lose a lot of money.

For example

Yes +300
No -500

This means that I'll pay $3 for every dollar wagered on Yes but it will cost you $5 for every dollar you want to win by taking No.

I set No was the favorite because I can't imagine you hanging out with the Queers and weirdos you would find at a Star Trek Convention.
