It is absolutely amazing to me that every single hot pitcher I jump on in the last week and a half of baseball proceeds to go out and one of his worst starts of the year.
The latest, Carlos Rodon of the Yankees.
My 100 dimer on the Yanks run line was based on Rodon and the fact that in his 14 starts this year he had only given up more than 3 earned runs once.
That was the 6 earned he gave up at Baltimore on May 2nd.
Well let's add the 5 earned he gave up at Boston last night as he is the latest pitcher to take me down with a piece of shit effort.
His quote after the game, Five runs was tough, hard on my team to claw their way out of it. That's on me.
No shit Sherlock.
Stuck in the mud here. Losing sucks. You pick games for a living it's going to happen.
I have always battled my way out of it and I will this time as well.

My Analysis

They are not getting swept.

After losing the first two games of this series the Padres look to get one here on Sunday.

To do that, it's up to Dylan Cease.

Cease has been sharp over his last 6 starts allowing 3 earned or less and it's added up to a 2-1 record.

Of those 3 starts, 2 have come on the road where he lost to the Angels 3-2 but beat the Royals 11-8, his bullpen giving 5 of the 8 runs.

As for the Mets, it's Tylor MeGill taking the hill trying to get the Mets the sweep.

MeGill has been lost his last 2 starts to the Marlins 4-2 and got rocked by the Nationals 8-7 allowing 4 earned in 5 innings.

It's hard to sweep a team. Simple as that and I just don't see this San Diego bunch with the talent they have getting swept by the Mets.

Give me Cease the the Padres to avoid the sweep with a Sunday win in the big apple.
